Went in to look for our first handguns and the customer service was very lacking. There were three people working and one guy was too busy chatting with a friend to help us or even acknowledge us. The second guy was messing with inventory and would not stop to help us. When the first guy got done talking to his friend he then walked right by us and left the area, again without a simple acknowledgement. Then the third person who was a redheaded woman finished with the customer she was with, looked over her shoulder and hollered at us "What do you want?" That's when we left the store. Had any of them bothered to give us 5 minutes they would have made a thousand dollar sale. I get it's Christmas Eve but you work at a retailer and this is what you get paid to do. read more

Negative 0 stars!!!! Today I went to Dicks for the very first time to buy a pair of shoes for my two children. As we waited 20 minutes to get someone to help us, I noticed several families leaving and frustrated. As we found someone she had no clue how to measure a 7yr olds foot. The shoe measuring device was backwards! As we needed support to get shoes I asked the young shoe sales person several times for assistance. As I approached him again to ask for support he was very upset and and told me what time he got off work!!!! As I am holding my 2.5 yr old the guy had the huevos to tell me what time he gets off work to fight!!! I have never in my 40 years of life had someone working in retail tell me they wanted to fight especially as I was holding a child!!! Who does that? Dick's sporting goods is hiring a new type of employee very close to their NAME!! After this crazy experience, I will never shop at this store, Dick's! I would recommend any other sports store. You will find better service and will not have the staff get pissed and tell you what time they get off their shift to fight in the parking lot!!! I love this store however. None of the merchandise is in its proper spot. Meaning no idea of prices. Waited 25 minutes for a sales associate to tell me yeah I'll help you in a few minutes. The guys in the hunting department were great. Then we I finally got to checkout they still got the price wrong. I left without purchasing anything. read more

Terrible customer service. I went in to find a pair of new running shoes. I only found one pair I liked and since I couldn't find an employee to help me I pressed the customer service button. I waited for about ten minutes until I started wandering the store for an employee. Once I found one he scanned the shoe and proceeded to tell me they didn't have my size and that they were men's shoes. He literally argued with me as to whether they were men's or women's shoes until I showed him where I got them. Yes, I was right, they were women's shoes. They need to hire more people and train them on how to speak to their customers. I don't expect to always be right but I do expect to be treated with respect. read more

This location of DSP has alot to be proud of, as they're the worst rated major franchise store in The Woodlands, and the worst rated DSG in the state of Texas. Why exactly does this store have a staggeringly low 1.4 rating out of 37 reviews? It had been a while since I last stepped foot into this store (maybe since late 2017) and it was miserable then. Turns out it's still miserable now. Almost all of the same problems still occur years later: Extremely understaffed (a massive two story building and only 2 associates on the entire floor?), lines backed up on registers due to undertrained and understaffed cashiers, rude and condescending managers that treat you like you're a stray dog, broken fitting rooms that are always locked, sections that are never organized, random items placed cluelessly on sales racks without actually being on sale, stunningly limited selection with nothing to pick from...just, ugh! When will it stop? This place has DESPERATELY needed new management since it opened in 2016. Are the alarms not ringing yet? No red flags flying yet for corporate? I've had friends who worked here and they said it was the job of nightmares. Managers were allegedly tyrannical and would write you up for not selling enough rewards cards! Seriously, no wonder this store is failing when managers care about an obsolete piece of plastic nobody ever uses more than actual service. read more

This review is not necessarily about this store in general, as I hoped the manager would handle this situation the right way when we told her. My boyfriend and I spent about 30 minutes looking for an item that we needed, so we decided to POLITELY ask an older man named "Michael". In return, he flashed his badge in my face, and said "GOLF". And I thought "Wow that was rude" but once again, I politely asked "Well, do you know who I could speak to that knows where I can find this item?" And he said "how would I know I just got here" and stormed away. I have NEVER in my life experienced this bad of customer service. It totally ruined my day. read more

Marcela in the woodlands, Texas is very rude. Not sure what her disdain is but she doesn't assist or even talk to customers without being short unless Nate, her supervisor, is there. I called ahead of time for a biking valve on Sunday. I told her there was a misunderstanding about my name and specified the type biking valve I asked for. She continued to ring up the wrong item, as though I had not specified the errors. When I asked her why she was continuing to ring up when I said there was an error, she then insisted I go find the valve myself. I didn't know where to find it and called ahead so that I could minimize my COVID risk in the store, given the pandemic. I then asked her could she look it up and she literally didn't have anything to say and turned her back to me until her supervisor Nate walked up ready to assist. As soon as Nate asked had I been helped, she quickly interrupted to say she'd helped "& my item was on the way, [I] was just waiting" even though I shook my head no. When the item arrived and Nate left, her disdain continued as she sat my item away from me to grab and displayed poor body language through the rest of the interaction. Gave them a shot again today. They sent out a mailer for buy one get one 50% off. Kind of a big sale. Once again, just a handful of employees in the store. Only one in the shoe dept. All shoes are in the back so the one employee has to go get the shoes for all the customers while also trying to provide some customer service. Several customers standing around waiting for the one employee. I spent a couple minutes trying to find another employee without luck. We then left and gave Academy our business. At least Academy has the shoes available on the shelves. Much smarter. That was the last attempt to shop at Dicks. Kind of silly to be so understaffed all the time. They need to decide if the want brick and mortars or e commerce. The 50/50 can't be working in the long run. read more

So, in the spirit of Christmas my wife decided to buy my a very large sporting gift. Dicks just opened so we decide to check it out and I found the perfect present. On sales and just what I wanted. The two gentlemen that helped me were wonderful. The problem was the fact that I didn't want a demo of the item and request a new in box item. No problem, they ordered it online for me and said it would be in within a week. Paid for the item and left. About three hours later got email that it was canceled. When I called customer support they said there are none in stock and that I would have to reorder. 500 dollars lock out of my account and they want me to reorder and have another 500 locked out and I would have to drive across town to get it at another store. Ok so if I reorder will they hold it for me till next weekend, no you have to call and ask the manager and he has to make sure it will be there next weekend for you. Also, the item went up 50 dollars within the twenty four hours of purchasing. My suggestion is only purchase items you can take in hand. If they tell you we can order it just say no. read more

I've been to a few DSG in the Fort Worth area, but it took a while to get them here so it was something I had missed about it. When they finally got here I was very delighted and I went opening weekend and boy were they packed! Although the workers seemed stressed I got 0 attitude and they were all super helpful. I've been a few times since and the only complaint I'd have is the lack of workers in the clothes section I feel as though I'm having to find employees, even grab employees that don't work in that department. read more
