This was a giant Dick's store inside the Washington Square mall. There were 2 floors inside, full of all sorts of sporting good, just a heaven for any sports fan. They had so many windows around the ceiling, the store was full of sunlight, felt so nice. Like many other Dick's store, they had all the popular sections like baseball, softball, football, tennis, fishing, biking, golf, racket sports, sneakers and huge displays of apparels from different brands. I explored the store for about half an hour. They have lots of World Cup 2026 merchandises. I was looking for sporting shorts and found some I liked in Adidas section. This store is massive, even has a second floor! And that's not always a good thing. The footprint is a maze, making it difficult to find what you are looking for without asking for help. Yikes. Came here to buy some Oregon Ducks gear and a Blazer hoodie I saw someone wearing at the game. Two specific items, and 10 minutes wondering aimlessly to find the items or an employee to help me. They do have a huge assortment of clothing, and in every color of the rainbow, not just basic black. I appreciate that. But I'm not a fan of bigger is better, and prefer shopping at smaller Dick's locations like the one in Lake Oswego. so much easier to find what you need, and get in and out of the store quickly. read more

I had a great experience with Hyoung, a retired PGA instructor who went above and beyond to help my wife and me choose the perfect first bike for our 4-year-old -- even though he doesn't work in the bike department! His professionalism, kindness, and genuine customer care really stood out. Great service is rare these days, and I'm glad I found it at Dick's Sporting Goods. There was another individual who helped me at the register that was helpful as well. Unfortunately I didn't catch her name. I thank both of them for their efforts. Dick's has a huge selection, and the store is large and clean. Prices are high, and customer service is TERRIBLE!!! If you know EXACTLY what you want, and they actually have it in stock, and you come on a weekday morning, you'll probably have a much better experience than I did. On my Saturday afternoon visit, they were extremely busy, and it was difficult to find an employee to help me. I was really impressed with their $100 price on the New Balance Fresh Foam X More v4 shoes, as this is $50 less than anywhere else I've ever seen them. When I finally got an employee to help, and asked him if I could buy a pair in Men's 9.5, medium width, he scanned the barcode on the insert in the display shoe, and said, "We only have it in a 10, but there's 9.5 online". I asked if they were the same price on-line, and while simultaneously backing away, he said, "Yes, same price" and promptly walked away. As soon as I got home, I went to their web site, and found that they were $150 on-line, so that was extremely disappointing. I won't be making any special effort to go to Dick's, and really can't recommend that anybody else does, either. read more

I went to pick up a glove that we left to get steamed and broken in (the original glove was purchased at the Hillsboro location), upon pick up and further conversation the staff member Logan realized that we were sold a baseball glove and not a softball glove. He got the ok to let us return the purchased glove and exchange for the right style glove. I expressed that I couldn't afford to pay more out of pocket of another glove and he told me not to worry that they would figure out a price match. That we should have been asked more questions prior to making such an important (expensive) purchase. Not only did he ensure that we found a glove that we liked, he explained very well the pros and cons of the gloves. His customer service and knowledge about the gloves, this experience was above and beyond. Unfortunately the glove we liked didn't come in the size we wanted after going through the process of trying to order it through their online service. Slater, one of the store managers was quick to help, he helped cancel the order and get us another glove ordered and even did a price match! I was extremely impressed with their customer service and support. I am a big fan of Dick's at Washington Square. read more

Shopping for shoes here is a nightmare. The shoes to try on have to be brought out by employees but DICKS has their staffing so thin that it took 20+ minutes each time for the shoes to be brought out, only one employee was there to bring them out. DICKS needs to suck it up and have more employees on staff so there isn't 10 people waiting around for one employee to bring everyone shoes one at a time. read more

The environment was unwelcoming. No "hello" or "welcome in". To further our short visit, I was shopping for a new football for my son with a friend. At a maximum of four feet, lightly tossing the ball to test and acquire the abilities and grip of the ball. When it came to our surprise, an employee yelling at us to quit tossing the ball and exit the store. Simply do not understand why we are not able to test the balls that were not packaged or anything, to see the quality of the item. Considering we were looking for a purchase. Ugh. If I could change one thing about Dick's it would be that they aren't on top of keeping their CO2 tanks filled. Every. Single. Time. I go to refill, they are out and I have to wait days or a week. Ridiculous. And they usually don't have an employee up in that area so you have to call someone (I had to call the store's main line last time to get them to send someone up.) I've never been wowed by their customer service and the prices on just about everything are super high. All in all it isn't great at Dick's. If you think Joe's is big, sheesh! New store, and the first of this nationwide chain in Oregon, recently opened at Washington Square. They have a massive selection of almost everything sports related in a huge space (formerly Mervyn's). We found just what we were looking for (after the usual aggravation of trying to buy something at Foot Locker) and although they don't have a lot of clearance items or markdowns here, they have some coupons floating around. Kind of a cool mini-track near the athletic shoes for you to test them out. They probably have the largest selection of Nike apparel outside of a Nike store. Couldn't get over how large the golf and camping sections were upstairs. Staff was helpful and check-out was quick. While I'd prefer to give my business to Joe's or another local store, it is another good option. read more

Service at this Dick's is not good. We were shopping for golf shorts today. No one greeted or helped us while we looked for the correct sizes on racks. Once we found items to try on we rang a doorbell by the dressing room to have it unlocked. An older male salesman came by and unlocked it without uttering one word to us. Not even "Hi" let alone "Can I assist you in any way?' He simply unlocked the door and walked away. This experience is not unique to all of our visits at this store. My husband and I came looking for something specific. We went to the front desk and the person behind the desk was able to send us in the right direction. So we we got to the right area near customer service the worker immediately asked us if he could help us and we asked him and he quickly sent us the area with the silicone rings. When we found the one we wanted - we went to customer service and Miguel was helping us again! He was very polite, customer service oriented and when we asked him for a price match he didn't hesitate or make us feel weird for asking- and he was able to help us! We also overheard another worker training a new worker and wow we were very impressed with the professionalism and the fact that the trainer was making customer service a real focus in his training. This store is amazing. The largest sporting goods store in the region, as far as I know. Believe it or not this store is massive. Everything you could need for any sporting activity is carried at this unique location. The layout is optimal for shopping and if you really like you can shop at the mall too because it is directly connected to "Washington Square Mall". I found an amazing deal here on a GST football and have been surprised with the excellent level of service from all of the team members. With so many online retailers and options this is a great place to get in and interact with the tangibles. Team members here at awesome and the management is top notch. Corporate compliance is also impeccable. Would recommend this store to any sports enthusiast. read more

It certainly doesn't live up to it's ridiculously awesome name. I used to live back East in the land of Dick's. This was like REI to them. There the place was buzzing with avid Dick's fans, here, the place is vacant but for the 'deer in the headlights' employees. I'm always like a foolish dumb ass fool every time I come here because I've had to ask one of them where to find something because this is one BIG Dick's. Could it be this Dick's is too big?? Each time it's the same routine - deer 1 calls someone else, presumably deer 2 (on the phone or on their earpiece) who both agree that they probably don't have the item and generally point me in a direction far far away where I wander around looking through the weirdly organized sections until I just say pluck it and leave. So far, I think I've only ever managed to locate one thing that I wanted and they had a buy 1 get 1 half off which totally sucked because it was a personal flotation device for which I have zero reason to buy 2? So I left. Sounds like I should give it 1 star but I don't because I LOVE parking in the mostly open lot right outside of their store and walking right through this store on the way to the rest of the mall. "Let's go to the mall where they have the big Dick's." Yeah, that's what I said. Compared to the Lake Oswego store, Washington Square has the big Dick's. They have balls too. You know, soccer, football, golf, pingpong, basketball... And lots and lots of other sports and outdoorsy stuff. This location has more of everything, except for better customer service, and low prices. Not much goes on sale at Dick's, unfortunately. And getting help to order something that isn't in the store is challenging. I got grumpy faces from 2 of the 3 people I asked for help on my latest visit. I guess they all hate their jobs. This is the case at all the locations, not just here. Too bad customers can't just use the computers themselves to place the orders. So I guess they kind of do live up to what they are, the big Dick's at the mall, but that's okay. We'll be back, when we need to have some balls. read more

They have very poor customer service and why have store Managers if they have no authority to help their customers. One should not have to explain what they may have been through in the last 90 days and why they couldn't make it there with in that time frame. Managers should have the authority to authorize returns when its just days past 90 days. This is very poor business practice in todays day and age. I will not recommend or every purchase anything ever again from Dick's even though they are the closet to my home. I will drive out of my way to give another company my business that cares more about their customers and provides better customer service. Also do not try and return anything with out a receipt. Their return policy states no receipt they will give you an instore credit for lowest price sold. Now that does not mean the lowest price they sold it at its the lowest price sold any where. Example: I bought a pair of shoes for $139.99 and with out a receipt they would of only given me back $23.00. Nothing like ripping off your customers~ read more

This store is not much different from other Dick's stores. They are understaffed and the people on the floor are not very knowledgeable. I had some basic questions about a fairway wood and the clerk said "They're pretty much all the same." After trying a few before I bought one he was very wrong. The attitude of the staff runs from arrogant to disinterested. I went in the Washington Square store to get my son some shoes because he had gotten a $25 gift card from his grandmother. We waited 20 minutes for a clerk to help us. But he was too busy talking to some cute girls to be bothered. It took us nearly 40 minuted to find a pair of size 13 medium Adidas shoes. This review is for their online shopping site. This is the second year I've tried to order items for my family in Michigan and had problems. First, the "online" coupons never worked for me. I got in touch with an actual person last year and received no help. Second, This year was no different. The coupon did not work. Third, they didn't fulfill my order. Because they were the only company that said they had the products I needed I ordered anyway without the coupon. I ordered 3 hydro flasks, in 3 different colors, and the order went through just fine. The next morning one item was canceled because they really did not have it. I had to scramble to find another one from a different vendor. Then hours later, they cancelled another one!
