Everything is handmade and tastes really good. The maple lattes are great and use local syrup. Actually many of the ingredients are local. The owner is a sweetheart and so fun. The only reason it got downgraded a star was due to the prices. I love eating here but cannot afford to regularly. It isn't a sit down restaurant yet it has sit down prices. In reality I still go here regardless of the prices because the staff are great, the quality is excellent and it is the best choice in town for something quick on the go that consists of real unprocessed foods. read more

I'm sure locals really love this place so my review is probably irrelevant. However, the entire experience was ruined for me when the counter girl attempted to school me when I requested a straw. Seriously? I'm 61 years old, I'm a Baby Boomer and we invented Earth Day, so I'm completely aware of the concept of "save the planet" and so forth. I am also literate and well informed enough to know that this ridiculous ban on straws is literally worth nothing in the grand scheme of things- I'm supposed to "drink as nature intended" but meanwhile you've got paper cups with plastic lids, plastic coffee urns, plastic wrap, I mean, shall I go on? Meanwhile, once again I encounter a 20-something who makes no effort to understand the different requirements of different people- like a straw to keep cold liquid off of sensitive teeth. Had breakfast AND lunch here today. The food was very tasty, and the employees were friendly and helpful. Cute decor, good music, lots of outdoor seating. For breakfast, I had a fresh squeezed OJ and a homemade whole wheat toasted bagel with PB & jam. For lunch, I had a selection of the deli salads - quinoa with chickpeas and veggies, sesame noodles, kale & cranberry salad, and Mexican black bean/corn/squash salad. A homemade lemonade and a vegan pumpkin walnut cookie topped it all off. Prices are very reasonable - my lunch was under $10! Although they have limited hours, the hours posted on Yelp don't reflect that they are open daily in July. Definitely check it out. read more

That being said, if you're going to offer iced drinks with cups that "ARE MEANT TO HAVE A STRAW", you should probably shift to a lid that has a spout for people. Great spot! I don't know why Yelp marks this as "$$$$" because it has typical cafe prices. I had an Americano and yogurt with granola. The staff was super friendly but a bit busy. This is a small, specialty coffee shop and bakery. There is real attention to natural and whole foods. The South of France breakfast sandwich was surprisingly tasty... something just not expected after many hit and misses with small bakeries over the years. Love this little bakery! This is a must if you are in Bethel! They always have fresh, home baked pastries (breads, muffins, croissants, scones, bagels) that are delightfully delicious. Then there is the coffee! I am addicted to the Iced Mocha and it is Organic! They also have homemade popsicles, ice cream and many other surprises. So definitely go check this place out. It is located at the bottom of Main Street. If you are an out of Towner spending time at Sunday River you must take the 10 minute drive to the town of Bethel! read more

Food is definatly fresh and very delicious. We tried the croissant which was so buttery and flakey. We also both had everything bagels with plain cream cheese, they look a little odd since they are hand shaped but taste amazing. This place defiantly gives you the small town feel. You actually have to toast your own bagels which not a huge deal but I have never seen that in any bakery before, they might just be the oldest toasters you have seen. Definatly worth going here for breakfast though. Prices are not cheap but there still cheaper than starbucks! read more

Best coffee in the area! I love their Americanos and coconut cupcakes. It's a cozy little cafe with great outdoor seating right in downtown Bethel. We are staying at the nearby Bethel Inn. My partner and I are both in business, so we have had our fair share of buffet breakfast while traveling. Nothing against the Bethel Inn at all, but we are in town for leisure, so we didn't mind walking downtown for breakfast. We walked through the door and were immediately greeted by the ladies behind the counter. They have delicious baked goods at reasonable prices, pre-made breakfast egg sandwiches, and bagel sandwiches made to order. One woman made our sandwich, and the other made our coffees, one americano and one mocha. I had the New Yorker with a salt bagel, and it was fantastic. My partner ordered salt bagel with pesto cream cheese, and they liked it. Very relaxed atmosphere without being giving off the air of trying too hard to be cool. We sat outside while we ate, and watched several other patrons come and go, all friendly and courteous. If we are in the area again, we will certainly be back for breakfast. read more

went to dicocoa's with high hopes after reading some great reviews. was very sadly disappointed once entering and realizing they were just another overpriced subpar cafe. their sizes were wack: they called a 16oz cup a large, and charged 5$ for this size in a latte. i could've gone to any other coffee shop and gotten that same amount of ounces for a lot cheaper. i was not only upset at this but also upset at the fact that they didn't offer anything larger than 16oz in iced drinks. furthermore, with all this aside, the girl working there had the audacity to give me my $5 latte not even nearly close to being full (refer to picture). i didn't say anything because i'm not one to be rude, and was hoping the coffee would make up for the missing ounces, but i was very wrong. it was probably a 3/10 on my scale, and dunkin' coffee is for sure above that. additionally, we asked for one of the lattes to be made with almond milk (multiples times!!) and watched as she poured whole milk into the cup. again, we didn't say anything because it's not a huge deal bc there was no allergy. however, i could have been allergic and would have been blindly drinking something that could harm me. overall, this was a poor experience and i will definitely not see myself going here again and would not recommend to any of my friends. if you're looking for coffee you should just go to dunkin'. read more

We were on vacation at the Sunday River resort and ventured out to the beautiful and quaint town of Bethel, ME. We stopped in Dicocoa's for lunch and WOW!! Delicious and healthy sandwiches made on their handmade bagels and freshly baked breads. I would go there everyday if I could! We went back the next morning for breakfast and took bagels home with us from their freezer. I'm seriously considering calling them and asking if they ship! We visited Bethel on a leaf peeping trip through New England. We were looking for a quick breakfast as we headed out to see more of Maine's beautiful countryside and I was dumbstruck by this gem of a cafe. The bagels and pastries were some of the best I've ever had. Actually the bagels were without a doubt the best I've ever had (and I live in NYC!). I did not like smoked salmon before this trip, but my husband ordered it on a bagel and after one bite I immediately raced to the counter to order one for myself! When I walked into the cafe and saw the quality of the food I went on an ordering frenzy. We bought the yogurt and granola, a plain croissant, a decaf americano, a blueberry pastry, one plain bagel, two new yorker bagel sandwiches, one bagel with cream cheese, and a brownie! Everything was homemade and of the highest quality. I bake artisan sourdough bread and bagels at home so I have high standards for bread and pastries and this cafe exceeded them. My family and I spent a lovely weekend in Bethel, for a wedding. In hopes to find a quaint local spot for coffee and goodies, we were lured in by the delightful and warm appearance of the building. Unfortunately, the reception we received upon entering was quite chilly, for such a beautiful day.
