    Hot Honey Chicken Bowl

This place is a hidden gem right in Harvard square. If no one has told you to check this place out I am! Food is Amazing, service is great! This is my third time ordering from here and they never fail to get me through the rest of my day. The ambiance in here is not by no means overwhelming , it could get noisy around lunchtime but that's basically expected

    Good indoor air ventilation

Damn haven't had such rude services in Harvard Square/Boston in years! Pains me to write this review, especially I loved Dig Inn when it first became popular in NYC. Cambridge/Boston is copying NYC so much, nothing new here. But omg I haven't had such bad customer service experience in a long time! Two stars is fair. Fast casual + self service is always a great option for college campus clientele. One star for the great indoor air ventilation. The other star is for the great food. I originally thought I came here on an off-day, but after reading others reviews and I couldn't agree more, the workers just don't want to be here. Honestly just so sad because I don't plan to return anytime soon. And I've been rooting for Dig for a long time since it began construction/renovation in this street corner. Hope others have a better experience here.

    Chicken Bowl

I got the grain bowl with a chicken protein and vegetables. It was super delicious as it tasted fresh and flavorful. The ingredients were very high quality and I would go back again. It is similar to the bowl restaurants like cava, pokeworks, and chipotle. But, this is not Greek, Hawaiian, or Mexican. It is American and compared to other restaurants, it does not exhibit fast food quality. The server was nice and quick as I came in near closing. The food was still warm and in a fresh batch. The atmosphere was very modern. It is in a prime area that is busy.

DIG has quickly become one of my favorite bowl shops, especially when I'm looking for something that'll keep me full. This was my first time visiting their Harvard Square location, and I really loved the look and feel of it. There are a ton of tables and booths here, perfect if you want to eat and talk with some friends, or you can easily take your food to-go. At the counter, you have the choice of creating your own bowl or ordering one of their signature creations. I tried the hot honey chicken plate, which includes chicken, carrots, broccoli, and mac and cheese. Not only were the quality of the ingredients above average, but the combination of all the flavors worked really well together. The sauce wasn't very spicy, but it was sweet and flavorful. However, if you do not like your food/sides touching each other or do not like overly saucy foods, DIG might not be for you. The bowls can get messy, especially depending on the dressings you choose, so keep that in mind if you give it a visit!

Food line! Shoutout all the friendly staff

My current favorite restaurant in harvard square. As a vegan, they have so many wonderful options but my meat eating friends love it too. It's like a heartier, better sweetgreen (or American version of chipotle). Also like $12-$13 for a restaurant quality meal. Things to get!! - brown rice base is delish - kale Caesar is very good (it's vegan, I will usually do half kale half brown rice base) - potato salad (it's vegan!!), prob best potato salad I've had in my life - mac & cheese, not vegan but apparently tops - broccoli, vegan and really nice and charred - cauliflower, not vegan but very good - grilled tofu - ask for their tofu aoli side!

    Wild Alaskan Salmon Marketbowl

If you've been to a Dig Inn/Dig elsewhere before, expect the same simple but tasty food here. I got the Wild Alaskan Salmon Marketbowl, with Garlic Aioli, Cashew Kale Ceasar, and spiced Farro. Everything was cooked just as you expected with fantastic flavor and texture. The salmon was perfectly cooked and seasoned (not dry!!), the cashew kale caesar and farro was delicious as well. The only knock I would say its that considering the other comparable options in the area, this isn't the most affordable option but I felt very filled after finishing the bowl. I've since left the Harvard campus and wish DIG had come just a year or two earlier!

Tofu, carrots, Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Cashew Kale Caesar
    Suuba D.

Dig in is pretty good the first or second time you go but it can become quite boring very quickly. Pricing for different options isn't always clear (some side options cost more than others) but the staff is nice and move pretty fast.

Not a single worker is wearing masks...not even the ones making your food.

The broccoli was really flavorful and the kale was good too. I also got a rosemary sauce which went well with the chicken.

Looking for something good to eat and we happened upon this place within walking distance of our hotel. The menu was mysterious online and didn't really represent what we stumbled into that night. We show up and speak to who I believe to be the hostess. We had some nice small talk while we were heading to the table. Half way there she asked where we were from and we told her "the most beautiful land in the world, Memphis, Memphis, Memphis, Memphis". IFKYK. She was like, "no way". Yes way, I say. She then tells us she lived in Memphis for a long time and this place is modeled after a place she waited tables at while she lived there. Turns out she was the owner. I asked what it was and lo and behold she says one of my favorite places in our delightful town. Flight. I then put two and two together and realize why the menu was so hard for me to understand online. It's just like Flight. You can get a made "flight" of foods or drinks or you can build your own flight of food from all of the choices. Now I'm stoked. I love Flight! I had a nice IPA and C had a nice fancy drink too. We both had soups to start. They were pretty good. We both had a flight each after our apps. Food was good, not great. Portions were insane. We probably left half of it there. It felt like such a waste. Had I known that it was going to be so much, I would have ordered a single dish. Each one seemed like a good sized meal in my opinion. My favorite things were the lamb chops and the grit cake that came with one of my dishes. I poked around at the others some but all of these. C's pot pie was interesting with a chicken tender shoved in it. I didn't care of her other two dishes. The Beef Wellington was fair at best. We skipped dessert as we were so damned full already. Nice place, great ownership, I wish the food was better. Very nice steak knife I will add. That means a lot and pushed the star up one. That may sound strange but I don't care. 26 - 65

Wow talk about a hidden gem!…read more I hadn't heard much about this place so I wasn't sure what to expect-- located in Inman square with nearby limited street parking (there's a metered lot on Springfield street nearby!), Oak Bistro is a medium sized restaurant with a simple but chic decor and true focus on hospitality. When we came in we were greeted and our coats were taken and put away. They have rotating specials that our server walked us through. We ordered all three of the mock tails on the menu -- Odin's Oracle was a sparkling elderflower and passion fruit drink, the Northern Rose was fruity with a slight thick cream of coconut base (and the tables favorite!) and the last drink was a warm ginger drink. They all came out looking beautiful. For food, we started with the Halloumi Cheese which was delicious and perfect for sharing (comes with four pieces), then tried the Blueberry Ricotta Cornbread (really well made and yummy but needed a little more butter spread) and the fried burrata (huge serving of burrata with balsamic, fig jam, warm bread, just as good as it sounds). We tried the Braised Short Rib Croquettes which were stuffed with short rib and topped with sooo much yummy cheese. We also had the Pappardelle braised shore rib Ragu which was truly delicious-- would highly recommend. For dessert we tried a special menu bread pudding which was a perfect end to the night. Our leftovers came perfectly packaged in little baggies with dish names and dates written on them which is so cute and thoughtful! Overall I would order everything we got again and was so pleasantly surprised by the caliber of food at Oak Bistro-- get in and try it before it gets too popular!

As an extra touch, Chef Steve came out to our table to chat and describe a few of the dishes, which made the experience feel personal. Food highlights: * Firecracker tofu - perfectly fried cubes tossed in a hot-sweet Korean-style sauce; addictive. * Grilled broccoli - smoky, well-seasoned * Butternut squash soup - smooth and flavorful, elevated by roasted, ground squash seeds and a subtle curry note. * Polenta with short ribs - rich and balanced. * Smoked bluefish pâté - excellent texture though a little salty for my taste. Drinks: * Also Fancy - bright and fruity, but not overly sweet. * St. Peter's Bay - think mezcal meets Old Fashioned. * Bonus points: I asked for a custom gin gimlet, and the bartender delivered a fresh, mint-forward version that was amazing. My partner and I couldn't decide what to get from their a la carte menu so we ended up going for the four-course tasting menu instead ($85/pp), picking the omnivore and pescatarian options to see if we could try more items. We were actually a little underwhelmed at first, but the tasting menu got better and better after each course. The tasting menu started with some of their in-house pickles and ferments. We had some onion, green beans, and cucumbers, which I wished were crunchier. Each pickle had a good amount of acidity but I wouldn't have minded if the flavors were punchier. The first course of the tasting menu was a salad. Visually it just looked like a pile of lettuce, but they added a savory garlicky sauce and a sprinkle of asparagus salt that allowed the dish to feel refreshing and hearty at the same time. The radishes were crunchy, peppery, and delicious, and we were very pleased to find that many of the later courses also included raw radish. We ended up getting different dishes for the second course, one of which involved deep-fried arancini-like balls of risotto with a creamy sauce, and the other had a cold plant-based loaf served with a vibrant garlic sauce. Both dishes featured some fresh greens that balanced the carby heaviness. By the time we got to the third course, we realized that Forage makes their vegetables shine. The omnivore course came with a steak while the pescatarian course had a pan-fried fish, both of which were also available to be ordered a la carte. While we thought that the steak and fish were seasoned and prepared well, the vegetables stood out to us even more. They weren't prepared in any crazily innovative way but the chefs made the natural flavors of the vegetables shine in a way that complemented the rest of the dish very well. After the third course, we added one optional cheese course ($22/pp) that came with even more radishes. The hazelnut shortbread was super buttery and everything went well together. I was already feeling pretty full and was glad that we only got one cheese course instead of two. Finally, the fourth course had a maple semifreddo with seaweed crisps and a caramel nut sauce. This was amazing and something that I'll think about for a long time! I could really taste the maple flavor in the semifreddo, and the cold creaminess went so well with the salty, crispy seaweed and nutty, buttery caramel. The balance of textures and flavors in the dessert was excellent. Along with the tasting menu, we added one wine pairing ($60/pp). We liked some of the wines so much that we asked for more information about them and learned that some of the wines are imported in small batches. After experiencing how well vegetables are prepared here, I'd love to visit during different seasons to sample their vegetarian menu items.
