Tom Yum (Thai Hot & Sour Soup)

Meh. Yellow curry was the best part of this meal. Fresh rice rolls - avocado- usually my favorite appetizer, these were not good. It was like a salad in a roll - super thick cuts of cucumber, carrots, 1 piece of avocado and 50% lettuce. Skip these. Tom Yum was a weird flavor. I guess we're used to it being more lime citrus flavored but this one tasted like fish sauce and tomato. Not good - skip as well. Won't return. I'm being generous with rounding to a 3 (2.5 stars). Service was friendly, prices good but did not enjoy 2 out of three dishes.

Diho always has great service and great food. Staff were always smiling and kept our water filled. We ordered a few dishes and enjoyed dinner. It's a small and quiet location. Customers came in and picked up to go items or sat down and ate beside us.

Diho Siam has very tasty food and the most friendly service! I came to pick up my to-go order and while I waited I was given a free house salad and thai tea! How amazing is that!? When I got home everything I ordered was so yummy and at these prices I will keep coming back. Thanks Diho Siam.

I've been to this restaurant many times and usually have a good experience, which is why I feel disappointed writing this review. Today, I ordered takeout online and got the Szechwan Bamboo Beef. While I was eating, I noticed there was still a produce label sticker on one of the green peppers in the food. This clearly shows that the vegetables were not properly cleaned or washed before being cooked. That's not a small mistake--it raises serious concerns about the kitchen's food safety standards. If something this obvious can slip through, it really makes me question how much unclean or improperly prepared food customers may be eating without realizing it. This is unacceptable and honestly pretty disturbing.

Nice little charming Thai Chinese Resturant in mission viejo. Staff is friendly and they get to know the regulars there. Can only speak to the Thai dishes and is pretty authentic.

We enjoyed all the dishes we tried! We got the beef larb, rad na, and red curry. The portion sizes were generous and everything was delicious. My mother in law who is Thai was the one looking for an authentic Thai restaurant, approves and she's usually very picky. Staff was friendly. The inside is small but not overly crowded on a Sunday evening.

Came here with some friends on a Sunday evening for dinner and really enjoyed my experience. The space inside was pretty small but they were surprising a good amount of seating. Plenty of parking available outside. Service was awesome, servers were friendly and came to check on us often. Food was also amazing, here's what we ordered: Tom kha: 10/10 my favorite dish! It did not look like the tom kha at other restaurants but the broth was delicious and very flavorful (came with a lot of mushrooms, for those who like/dislike mushrooms) Yellow curry: 9/10 also a great dish, came with a lot of veggies and tofu (I ordered tofu as my protein). Curry was rich and flavorful. Also comes with a serving of rice Pad Thai: 7/10 the portion size for this was very big, enough to feed 2. The flavor was good but I felt like the noodles were a bit tough. Overall, great local spot for solid Thai food. FIY They also serve Chinese food but I didn't have a chance to try it

Good lunch specials and generous portions. Friendly service. I usually order take out. They gave a bunch of fortune cookies today that were all stale though:(

After a busy morning it was time to sneak in a little fun and try a new (to me) Thai restaurant for lunch. Diho Siam was close by and had a pretty solidly priced lunch special at about $12 for some pad thai with veggies. Ordering was easy, you can do so online and get loyalty points. Not really sure what the deal with the points are, but why now? Of course Camilla didn't want a lunch special and was interested in a nice healthy papaya salad so we added that to the list! We showed up when the food was supposed to be ready but unfortunately we had to wait. I take my to go orders more seriously than most, but at least the seating area was comfortable enough. Still it was a solid wait and they ended up forgetting about me lol Oh well! Once I did get the food I was happy with the potions and how everything looked... especially the lunch special pad Thai. Lunch special pad Thai: it was yummy and thankfully not dry. I put a note in to make it spicy but it was not. While it was good, it wasn't great. Definitely on the less flavorful side. But again, not bad by any means. I don't think I'd go out of my way for this dish... but it makes me curious about their other dishes. Thai Papaya salad (som tum) I asked for it to be spicy and it had a little kick. They don't use the the little chilies so it wasn't nearly as spicy as other places who do the salad a bit more traditionally. The portion was good and they included other lettuce should you want to really get a salad going lol I wish they included some lime though, because it needed more citrus. It was a little heavier on the fish sauce then is my preference. However, it wasn't heavy on fish sauce by any means and overall was a solid effort. Camila? She enjoyed the som tum and liked that it didn't have those dried shrimps in them... she doesn't like them. I'd check out another lunch special here for sure. But I'd make sure to order wayyyy ahead of time is a factor.

We've been here a few times now for their lunch special. It's a pretty solid spot for Thai food and getting your fix. The lunch special feels like the right portion with a reasonable price tag. Comes with a side salad and your entree. We got the yellow curry with chicken. Flavor was great, nice spicy kick. Their pad thai was good, noodle consistency was that perfect chewy bite. The shrimp was undercooked though, which was kinda off-putting. We got the chicken another time, and that was fine. No bathroom in the restaurant, have to go around the corner. Service was prompt and attentive. Cozy spot, plenty of parking.

Chicken with pea pods, from Chinese menu, not Thai.

Recently came for dinner. The place was busy for a Sunday night. And they got a lot of orders to go. We were disappointed with the pad see ew. It was rather bland this time. It definitely needs more of the Thai sweet soy sauce. We can tell because the noodles have that very light, washed out color. Hubby wanted to try their Chinese menu instead of Thai and ordered the chicken with pea pods. It was okay. We would stick with their Thai dishes next time. We had a nice conversation with the cashier, Cheng (spelling?). She came to our table and chatted with us for a while. She used to serve us and remembered us. She was so nice and we enjoyed talking with her.

Such great service for me and my grandson. Food came extremely quick hot and fresh. I felt as if me and my grandsons needs had been catered to. As if able to be served at any time. Food was scrumptious it made me feel like a lavish Asian living Thai castle somewhere in Thailand as Thai royalty. The Thai castle is in a decade long feud with china where the Chinese can't the Thai castle massive Thai moat, some say this moat is so Thai and so big it might just be the biggest of them all. Thankyou so much for the amazing Thai service Yours truly, Maridith Berlinger

My job is to help you avoid the tragic first‑date mistakes I've already made, like the overpriced spots, the bland dishes, the "why is this chair attacking my spine?" seating. I've wasted the time, energy and money on the other loser spots so you don't have to. But when I find a place that's clean, visually appealing, thoughtfully designed, and serving food that's actually seasoned, cooked well, and plated with pride? Oh, I'm shouting it from the rooftops. So let me put you on to my latest discovery: DIHO SIAM, right in the heart of Ladera Ranch. If you've followed me on Yelp for a while, you already know I'm a lifelong Thai‑food fanatic. I've been loyal to Thai cuisine longer than some people stay loyal in relationships. Since I wasn't trying to overeat, I ordered an appetizer, and let me tell you, this "appetizer" came out looking like a BIG FULL-GROWN lunch. I'm not a big white‑meat gal, so I asked if they had anything with dark meat. I ended up with chicken wings and drumsticks in a sweet‑and‑sour sauce. The moment I cut into that chicken? I ascended. The breading had that perfect balance...not too salty, not too bland...crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. I'm not saying I had a foodie‑induced spiritual experience, but if I did, nobody needed to know. One look at the rest of the menu and I knew I'd be back. Yes, I will absolutely make the 45‑minute drive to try their lunch dishes. It's worth it. And the prices? Shockingly reasonable considering the economy is basically held together with duct tape and vibes. Now, my one note for the owners: please, for the love of all things holy and iced... offer a dairy‑free Thai iced tea option. It was 94° today, and I was ready to down two giant glasses, but they only use half‑and‑half. This is California. We are oat‑milk, soy‑milk, almond‑milk, "I'm‑on‑Ozempic‑don't‑judge‑me" people. Give the people what they want. Add oat milk to the menu, put a cute little 4x5 flyer in a clear acrylic stand on each table announcing your new dairy‑free Thai iced tea, and watch customers flock to it. And just to close this out on a high note: I'm 100% coming back to Diho Siam. There are way too many dishes on that menu calling my name, and I fully intend to answer. Consider this my official teaser...I'll be updating my Yelp Elite Squad review after my next visit, and trust me, people wait for those updates like they wait for a second date after a great first one. I might even give you an extra star and make it a Five-Star review! Wink! wink! Stay tuned, because this place has officially earned a spot on my "must‑return" list. And don't forget to give me a thumbs up or a heart if you like my reviews and follow me!

I noticed that some others reviewers call this a "hole in the wall." It's definitely not a hole in the wall.... it's quite a pleasant, no nonsense, pleasantly decorated casual little place.... does not exactly have a Thai vibe to it, but perhaps more western. Anyway, we came here for the food and not the decor. From the looks of it, this place is owned and run by a nice Thai family as we were attended to by a very nice, friendly, and down to earth Thai lady. She was always very polite, helpful, and attentive.... and we noticed that she interacted with other regular guests like they were good friends. So, as for the food, as first time visitors, we normally like to order the more common Thai dishes that we enjoy very much. We ordered the Chicken Satay, the Drunken Noodles with shrimp, the Green Curry with chicken, and an orders of brown rice instead of white rice, for a little extra $. All the dishes were prepared spot on, cooked and served hot and fresh with fresh ingredients, and had very good balance of the traditional sweet, sour, and spicy flavors. Everything was very delicious... and not overly salty or sweet like some other places... spiciness is a matter of personal preference and can be ordered according to one's preference. My only complaint would be that the satay peanut sauce and the green curry were a little too watered down. If they improve on this, the dishes we tried would have been perfect. We don't usually come to this part of town, but if we ever do, we will definitely come back here again.

Most places sell the soup for like 5-10 dollars so I'm thinking $18 is expensive that has got to be some dinner portion soup so it didn't make sense when it asked me if I wanted a large for seven dollars more, I'm thinking that that's probably a portion for a family. There were two slices of tomatoes in there a a couple mushrooms and a 2 piece of shrimp. This upset me so much because I spent so much money and was expecting some food. I politely called the restaurant and spoke to them about it and they said that they were very sorry but it's expensive because DoorDash charges 30% of the price. Which I understand, and I expect to pay more to have something delivered, but it was still very expensive for what I got, and in the end, it wouldn't have cost them much to give a large portion, and they should be more mindful about balancing what the customer is getting with their profits. Which they totally deserve their profits. It would be much more reasonable if the small was $6 and the large was $12.
