This was my first time visiting and I wanted to try their lunch menu. The restaurant has a cozy, low-key charm and is a friendly, family-owned business. It was quiet, not crowded at all during lunch, and very clean. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao with chicken, and everything was deliciously made to perfection with full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The lunch special is a great deal and comes with one main menu item, salad, soup, an egg roll, and gyoza. You can choose chicken, pork, vegetables, or tofu, with upgrades available for beef (+$1), shrimp (+$2), or seafood (+$3). Lunch is served Monday through Friday from 11am-2pm. The service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which really added to the experience. I will definitely be coming back! read more

Second visit: This time I tried the recommended Thai Pad with shrimp for lunch. It was fresh and the shrimp (2) were tender and not overcooked. Again service is basically Father and Son as servers. A little more ambience would help, and their Advertising/Marketing is nil, so not many patrons. read more

So just an overall disapointing meal. We got the papaya salad with Shrimp and they put it in the same bag as the hot food so consequently by the time we got it home it was very hot. In addition, we got the Pad Se Ew and it was just OK. Not a lot of flavor minimal protein (ordered both Chicken and Pork). We finally got the crab fried rice and again. Flavor profile was just not there and the crab did not taste right. We've been coming here for years so not sure if there was a change in the kitchen or something but it was quite possibly the worst Thai food I've had in a long time. The Pad See Ew here is EXACTLY what I want and expect when I order one. The noodles have a nice chew, there was a little char on everything including the vegetables, it was perfect. Usually when you get pad see ew, a good indicator that it's going to be flavorful is the color of the noodles. Pale tan? No flavor. A nice rich brown like the ones in the picture here? Delicious. My bf and I also got a Pad Thai (not pictured), a Panang Curry, and finished with Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. Everything was so good, I think this is my new favorite Thai food place. read more

Our first time at Siam Thai Kitchen. We wanted to try it out seeing the high ratings on Yelp. I ordered the pad see ew with chicken and my husband got the combo fried rice. I should have looked at the reviews here more carefully before ordering. Pad see ew: this dish was salty, especially the chicken meat, it was very salty. I couldn't get our server's attention since she disappeared after taking our order, then brought the foods out and disappeared again, for a long time. When I was finally able to get her attention, she offered to redo the dish so that was nice. The restaurant wasn't super busy, just a few tables with diners. She was the only server in the restaurant with the help of an older gentleman, which I believe is the owner. It appeared to be a family-owned restaurant and they do not hire any employees for the front of the house. The combo fried rice was just okay. The meat again was salty and I pointed out to the server. The kitchen was a bit heavy-handed on the salt or fish sauce? Not sure if we want to be back again. read more

The noodles were clumped together, and there was only a little pork. The heat level was a 1, and as far as I saw in door dash, could not add spice. I was so excited to try the papaya salad tray, unfortunately I think I'll pass next time just get the papaya salad only. The papaya salad itself was flavorful and had a ton of lime and fish sauce. The accompanying pad thai was lacking in flavor and kinda dry. The chicharones were stale and the chicken wings were overcooked and really dry. The rad na was very good and the sauce portion was very generous. The panang curry was good and a generous portion compared to other places , but seemed kind of runny, but glad it came with a side of rice and didn't need to pay extra for it. A small hole in the wall with great food. Only about 6 or 8 tables. The size of the servings was ginormous & enough for 2-3 meals. I had spicy pork ribs soup with flat noodles & creamy curry saucei + a ball of crunchy fried noodles on top. Yummy. My wife had combination fried rice with shrimp, pork, and beef fried rice. I'm not a fan of curry but this dish was tasty and both the fish and the giant shrimps were fresh; also had a bowl of their Silver Noodle Soup - I thought it was a small cup of soup - didn't know it was meal size and finished off with the Mango with Sweet Sticky Rice. For a to go order it was Tum Tad and Chicken Phad Thai mild. As always, flavor was on point. Tum Tad has many ingredients and the papaya salad dressing hits them all ( pork rinds in a plastic bag). the wings, although flavorful are a bit dry and the lettuce liner, which i love to eat, get wilted. i love that the pan is reusable and the plates, napkins and untensils were provided. I had the Kung Pao chicken, level 4 (out of 5) spiciness and it was great, very flavorful! I likely could've gone level 5, but I love spicy! We had london new year and debated about where to eat. This was a fabulous find. Two of us ordered three dishes, pork ribs in an amazing curry. It is on the additional menu. We mopped up the extra sause. We had pad ki Mao with beef, the beef was tender and perfectly cooked. We had papaya salad with shrimp. Medium. Just enough bite to be interesting. So we dragged two friends who got two more of the curry and the pad ki Mao plus the chicken satay. The satay was very good. Finale was mango sticky rice. We ate one and took one home. Siam Thai gets a solid 4 stars from us. The service is always a highlight. The staff is friendly, attentive and makes you feel welcomed right away. The restaurant is very clean and well maintained which makes dining here really pleasant. The food is tasty and consistent. The pad Thai is a favorite and the green curry has great flavor with the right amount of heat. There's plenty on the menu to explore but those two dishes are musts. We ordered 3 items Seafoods tom yum 8/10 flavorful Papaya salad 6/10 ok Seafood pad Thai 5/10 too wet, too sweet and needs more bean sprouts, green onions. Summary: Food is decent, it is definitely not the most flavorful thai food I've had but for a quick bite to hit that craving, this is not a bad choice. Service was friendly and attentive and food came out relatively fast. The shop itself was pretty spacious, but I do not know if they utilize the whole floor, maybe for busier days (went on a thursday around 6pm and it was empty but half the floor was being used.) Food: Solid pad thai, was a bit on the sweeter side and was lacking a bit on the protein. I would say this is your standard pad thai here in the states. Pad See Ew was also pretty standard, nothing really stood out, veggies were kinda just thrown into the dish didn't contribute to the taste for me. Again leaning on the sweeter side. We love Thai food and this is the most authentic we have ever tried outside of Thailand. Definitely the best Thai in Orange County. The tom yum is my favorite. It's tangy with a little kick. The flavor is amazing. I like to add chicken or shrimp protein. I love the chicken pineapple curry and Thai milk tea. My brother loves the duck curry. The service is not the fastest but worth the patience. It's a little hidden in the corner of a strip mall. The decor is dark with a pretty Japanese cherry blossom tree. This is the kind of place where your internal monologue swiftly shifts from "Should I save room?" to "Why would I ever save room?" This is common when eating Thai food. There are so many Thai restaurants in the vicinity, I understand it may be stiff competition. Unfortunately for me, this place just a few blocks from work, so it is most certainly a temptation even when I work hard to bring lunch and not order food outside - but it's my first choice. I find that the portion sizes are not as large as some other spots, so for the cost, maybe some find it underwhelming - but the taste is stupendous and addictive. I won't waste time and space with the same vague descriptions of each dish, but rather just tell you all the dishes that are ridiculously delicious. -Pad Thai -Pad See Ew -Pad Kee Mao -Cashew Chicken -Spring Rolls -Khao Soi -Thai Fried Rice -Pineapple Fried Rice Honestly, all these dishes are phenomenal, I don't want to do them injustice by repeating words. Just try them. Also, the service is great and friendly. I've seen it with my own eyes here, please be kind and patient when people don't understand your words right away. The food had a very home-y feel to it, nothing fancy, but definitely of good quality. The Tom Yum Soup was very good, and even the mild spice level had a kick to it. The Thai Tea had a strong tea flavour, which is surprising given how sweet it usually is. The star of the show was surprisingly the Mango Sticky Rice, which looks very plain, but it is the best one I have ever had around Orange County. They didn't check on me much but I came during a lunch weekday and it was just me and another party so I think they knew we were both just enjoying our time and peace. I will add that though they didn't explicitly check in, they were attentive. Ambiance reminds you of an aesthetic Thai restaurant. Seems like a mom and pop / small family business. The wall decor was nice as well. Friendly service. Came around 2pm on a Sunday and it wasn't too busy. My friend and I decided to try the pad see ew and crab fried rice based on what we typically order and what her sister recommended. When our food came out, it was nice presentation when they included an orchid. Both dishes were delicious and shareable for two people. Food came out within 15 minutes of us ordering. The second try at this place wasn't as good as the first time. Maybe an off day? Negatives: -Taste, we got 3 items. The khao soi was more creamier than we normally like it. The pad Thai was a little too tangy and the spicy fried rice tasted a little spoiled. It could be that they left the rice out too long or didn't store it in the fridge. I could tell by the slimey and slightly sour taste of the rice. -ambiance, I might be old and picky for saying this, but I got tired of the Ariana grande and The Weeknd songs. I forgot about my previous experience and ordered delivery. I could see the driver on the map driving away from my home and had to call him to redirect. Not the restaurants fault but maybe the delay affected the food quality, not sure. The gyoza was hard and the skin seemed uncooked. The pad see ewe oddly had no flavor. Food: Ordered papaya salad with shrimp, spice level medium, and Khao Soi, spice level spicy. The papaya salad was not a papaya salad which was disappointing. Instead of papaya, we got lettuce. The shrimp was cooked well though. The Khao Soi was delicious. It was thick and creamy and the chicken was tender. My only issue was that there was no spice. The soup was super flavorful, and they actually hook you up with a good amount of seafood (not like those other places that give you two baby pieces and call it a day). The mango sticky rice was delicious sweet, fresh, and hit the spot. I haven't dined in yet, but if the pick up is this good, I already know it's gonna be amazing fresh on the table. You'll find Siam Thai Kitchen at a corner of a strip mall. It's definitely a hole in the wall or family owned as you'll walk in and see tables and right next to it boxes of inventory stacked up. It may not present itself in the best way visually but usually places like this have good food. I ordered a Pad See Ew with Beef, Spicy Eggplant with Tofu, and Pineapple Curry with chicken. A little bit of everything from noodles, curry, and a vegetarian dish. Out of them all the Spicy Eggplang was my personal favorite. The flavor and the way the eggplant was cooked was excellent. The pineapple curry was very tasty too and it's usually my go-to dish almost every time I go to a Thai cuisine. Out of the three dishes the Pad See Ew was the weakest but it was still pretty good. Lastly I had also tried their Sticky Mango Rice which they really took their time to decorate nicely by cutting a lot of mango (as seen in the picture I posted). That was very tasty as well specially because the mango was very ripe and they actually used Asian mangoes. Highly recommend the Eggplant and the Sticky Mango here. Food still super and a great price! Garlic pepper with chicken just okay and honestly too much meat. Silver noodles were excellent. Highly recommend. Yellow curry a tad spicy (with no spice request), but excellent with the eggplant. Good portion sizes!
