A second awful experience here. Unbelievable! A family member took a dog in here for care and while there asked for a microchip not knowing the dog already had one...Dill gave the dog one. When provided with proof after the fact that the dog already had one they just said they gave the dog one because one was requested and "there was no microchip they could find" WHAT? So they are either totally incompetent, or they are fraudulently just cash grabbing. Good thing this dog wasn't brought in as a lost dog, it would have been sent to the pound, because they wouldn't have been able to find the microchip? Wow. Just awful. read more

At our last visit to Dill Animal Hospital we were scammed for $200. We took two dogs in for their periodic shots and when that was done one of the doctors invited herself into the room. She asked us if we had any questions, said that one of the dogs was fat (fair play; that's a chubby dog), and left the room after three minutes. For that we were billed for two exams. Total charge, $500. Tactics like this are con jobs, despite being as common these days as medical care itself. I'm embarrassed that we did not argue the extra charges. Now we are searching for that elusive, mythical, winged unicorn - an honest vet. read more

We had our first puppy visit two weeks ago. We came on time and had to wait 45mins before they took our puppy back (they said they're just a few minutes behind ). The entire visit (just a check, no shots) lasted 2 hours with the wait... Today I had another appointment at 9:30, they left me a message right as I was parking that I'm late for my 9:20 appointment and have to reschedule. I called them and explained that my visit was at 9:30 (my daughter was there when I made it and confirmed) but they would not see us. Even if I got the time wrong, being 10 mins late should not automatically cancel our visit after I had to wait 45mins last time due to the clinic being overbooked and behind. This has been a animal hospital that we've been using for generations all of our dogs and cats have gone here and have continue to do so. I love the vets but the fact that they do not schedule time for emergency visits is ridiculous. I called for an emergency for my cat and they said that they couldn't see him until a month and a half later. Just take the time to make blocks for emergency pets to come in please. We have taken all of our animals to you for the last 10 years and generations before that. It's unfortunate that we have to find a new veterinarian that will be more accommodating. read more

I don't have a problem with the vets here: however God forbid that your pet has an emergency. They are not ACCOMMODATING AT ALL. I understand that schedules are tight but what is the point of being an established patient if you can't get seen for urgent care until a week later? I don't mind them tacking on a fee for same day appointment; what I do mind is the utter lack of concern when I call the front desk. I've taken both my dogs to this clinic and again I have no issue with vet care but the inaccessibility to treatment when your pet needs it is a sticking point. My dog''s appointment got cancelled earlier this week but I didn't raise a ruckus- totally understandable, but they could show the same amount of consideration and courtesy when the situation is reversed. We have been taking our cats to see Dr. Dill for the past five years With every new kitten, 5 total, my husband and I have taken them to see Dr. Dill and his staff. 3 of our cats are Bengal Cats and Dr. Dill has given them fantastic care. He's done their neuters (they practice early spay and neuter here) their wellness checks, and also keeps them up-to-date on their shots. Our questions always get answered and we feel good about the care our animals receive from Dill Animal Hospital. Even when we had a small emergency with our cat they was able to get us in right away and most importantly bringing relief to the situation. We've moved to North Tacoma but still drive to Milton when we need care for our animals. Definitely would recommend! read more

We are new to the area and we were in search of a new vet for our new kitten. Due to COVID, a lot of offices weren't taking in new patients, so I was prepared for the worse when contacting Dill Animal Hospital. I contacted them in December and was able to get an appointment scheduled in January, about 4 weeks after I initially contacted them. I've brought my kitten in a few times already and I'm impressed on how they're handling COVID and promoting social distancing! Their staff is incredibly friendly and my kitten loves Dr. T. I have been going to Dill Animal Hospital for years - prior to Dr Dill selling the practice when he retired. My pets always received exemplary care under Dr Dill. I took my female canine into Dill Animal Hospital to have a severe cough and ear infection investigated. The vet discovered a heart murmur and wanted to take radiographs. I was told they would review the results and call me in a few days. I was called and told there was no fluid on her lungs but that she had an enlarged heart and liver. I thought medications would be available to help her. The vet said she would prescribe something for the cough and antibiotics, but I was not given any information or reports on how bad or what grade the murmur was, how enlarged her heart was, how enlarged her liver was; or if there were any medications to help alleviate any of these conditions. The medication I was given for the ear infection did not work, so essentially I felt I had paid early $600 and had no real information to deal with her problems afterward. I was told over the phone to try to get my dog seen by either Summit Veterinary Referral Center or BluePearl Pet Hospital for cardiology services. Unfortunately neither was an option as Summit had numerous negative reviews in multiple places online and BluePearl told me they don't handle cardiology cases. Over the course of the next two days my dog started fainting so I researched canine heart conditions and liver conditions to try to understand what was happening to her, especially as I was concerned if it could be something like Congestive Heart Failure (CHF). I discovered during this time the entire vet's office had contracted Covid. I was surprised by the lack of basic protocols, like not requiring masks for patients or taking other precautions, including not having an emergency staffing plan. With limited staff answering calls and at one point not taking messages, it made it very difficult to do anything in order to get my dog the medical help she needed. There were no responses to my pleas for the records or radiographs. I understand the entire office was closed down, without a backup plan to follow up on pets they had already seen, and the ensuing backlog was a large inconvenience to everyone involved. But I also don't understand why the specific vet that saw my dog was, as I later learned from their website, someone who professionally gravitates towards felines, and may have been under-prepared to give me the necessary information to help my canine. It is unfortunate that Dill Animal Hospital made the decision as a business to not have Covid protocols or emergency plans in place, but I don't think my pet should pay the price for their negligence by sacrificing her health and well-being. It would have been much better if they had been honest with me from the first day, instead of forcing me to watch my pet suffering for two weeks while they tried to figure out how to keep their business operating without any staff. the beginning and administer new tests, etc. especially since I was only given relatively vague information from Dill Animal Hospital, and I don't think I should have to pay for veterinarian services which were essentially not provided. read more

Moved into the area and found this place for my elderly dog. Although he still acts like 5 rather then 12! The facility is clean, very friendly and so far so good. We have been there for a normal checkup, vaccinations and a full dental appt. They were very nice about our scheduling and informative the whole way. read more

I scheduled a very long delayed visit for my dog this morning, and I was nervous, thinking it had been too long and I deserved to be beat up for not bringing her in sooner. I got none of that. What happened was a very outstanding group of very non judgemental people who didn't criticize me even once, although I certainly deserved it. This is a wonderful place. We are new to the area, I needed to find a veterinarian for my dog. I came across Dill Animal Hospital, set up a meet and greet appointment for my Cavalier 'Buster'. Staff greeted Buster like he was the amazing Cavalier that he is. He greeted and gave lots of kisses to the office staff. Dr. Jackie Tegarden was friendly and very thorough as she examined my little boy. The fact she incorporates Accupuncture in her practice is a plus, especially as an owner of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. My husband and I were in a pinch to get our new kitten treated for worms and strayed from Dr. Dill and made the mistake of taking her to Banfield who for a deworming charged $100 more than Dr. Dill charged to neuter, deworm, deflea and give rabbies/distemper vaccinations too our other cat not to mention how fluffy and pretty our guy came home with his nails all trimmed. By straying from Dr. Dill for the sake of convenience, we were overcharged and treated poorly by a corporate giant out to make a buck!! Do not take your pets anywhere else. We took our hedgehog to Dr Dill for his first checkup and I was somewhat surprised that he was not able to tell me if the hedgehog was male or female. Being a vet that does see exotic animals I would have thought he would know. Also one of the receptionists is extremely rude and gives you the feeling that she is in charge of the everything that goes on in the office, to the point where she is unreasonable and childish, refusing access to the doctor despite the desperate condition of an animal. My family has been seeing dr dill for a long time. He's very thorough and truly cares about the animals. He was the one who saw our German shepherd and every time we would go in the office, all the office ladies were friendly. He offers good advice and doesn't break your pockets. Today, I brought my cat in for a check up because he has been losing weight. Today, the other dr was in and he was just as thorough and friendly! He loved on my cat, as well as the office ladies. The ladies in the office also helped me out. My cat can't do cat carriers so I had him on a leash and they held him and kept him company while I filled out paper work. We got in and got out quickly. If you want your pets to be taken care of like they were your children, and you want to get accurate information, DO NOT TAKE THEM TO DILL ANIMAL HOSPITAL. I would give no stars if I could. I've taken my pets to Dr. Dill for years. All my pets from when I was a kid were taken to Dr. Dill. My parents have followed him around from location to location until he opened his own practice in Milton. That's 14 pets to see him over almost 40 years. If you had asked me just a few years ago who I would suggest for a vet I would have told you Dill Animal Hospital. In the last few years the service and compassion has dramatically decreased. Dr. Dill himself is less compassionate and rushes the visits. The office staff is HORRIBLE. They give mixed information as they don't seem to know what the office policies are or even how to do their job. You used to be able to call ahead and have your pets medication filled now you have to wait even when you have called ahead, and they try to charge you incorrectly. One minute you just need shots the next you also must have an exam. Which brings me to the Dr. Fukuzato, he did not perform an exam on my puppy, he simple gave her shots and we were on our way. He did not listen to her hearts or lungs, feel her to make sure there was no lumps or weird things. It was their initial puppy exam they give you for free, but why call it an exam if you don't do anything. My parents have received sympathy cards from Dr. Dill for all their pets and this year when they lost both their dogs at different times they received one but not for the other. A small gesture that brings a grieving pet parent some comfort. Another example that they've lost their compassion. They are always late on reminder cards that shots are needed etc. They are horrible at updating your contact information. I had to update it 4 times. After being told I could walk in for the single booster shot, then told that they require appointments, I asked if my puppy would be seeing Dr. Dill. They said yes. He then called me back shortly and said that he really has nothing to say about the staff, and that he has no idea what happened but that it didn't matter, and that I should change vets. Well You wont be getting my money anymore and I highly suggest everyone else go somewhere else too. read more
