I have to recognize Grace in the Intimates/Lingerie department! She is truly one of the best employees I have ever encountered. I'm 4'11" with a larger bust and small frame, and I have hated bra shopping my entire life--to the point that I usually send my mom to do it for me! Grace completely changed that experience. She was incredibly patient, kind, knowledgeable, and made me feel comfortable instead of embarrassed or frustrated. She took her time with me and somehow found me a bra that checked EVERY box: perfect fit, support, comfort, and even sexiness! For the first time, I actually left bra shopping feeling happy and confident. Grace went above and beyond when she absolutely didn't have to. I love shopping in Dillards at the Altamonte Mall. It is always so clean, well laid out, and the merchandise is to die for. I recently bought a top for the holidays. It was embellished with rhinestones across the shoulders and front bodice. After wearing it just one time, I noticed that one of the rhinestones had fallen off. Normally I would have ignored it, but it was a pricey top and I thought for that much money, nothing should have happened while wearing it for only a couple of hours. So, I made the decision to take it back. The sales person was so accommodating, and understood my disappointment in the performance of the shirt. A full refund was given immediately. The customer service and quality of the merchandise make this a "go to" store for any occasion. read more

Dillard's (Again, terrible name for a store) is always a good place to store. Usually finding the Men's section is a chore, but if you're on the 2nd level, it's right inside the entrance. Most convenient men's section in a Dillards. The men's shoe guy came up to me before I even got to the section and asked if I needed help and he talked about those Johnston Murphy golf shoes I've been eyeing up. Those never go on sale... anyway.... One person stood out in particular, and not in a good way. I found something I've been looking for and asked if she could see if they had it in another color. She said these are scattered throughout the store and for me to look. Then she said everything they had is out on the floor and nothing is in the back. So I asked if it could be ordered and she reluctantly pulled up the computer and within 10 seconds said, nope, that's the only color. WTF lady? Sorry to bother you. I continued to look around then finally checked out down stairs where the lady was super helpful and I felt confident she did what she could to find the merchandise I was looking for. I see I reviewed this Dillard's 12 years ago. Wow. I forgot I did. LOL Well, we are living back in the area again. I'm older now. Let's try for an update. This is still a terribly small Dillard's with no Chanel or Dior make-up counter. They do sell the perfumes, but no make-up. You're going to have to head to one of the stores in Orlando for that. They also having a very lacking selection of clothing for both myself and my husband. Other than Under Armor, my husband mostly wears Daniel Creumex and 100% of the Creumex comes from Dillards. We recently bought my husband some near pieces he needed for this wardrobe and we lucked out and found about 10 Creumex shirts for him and a two new pairs of cargo shorts. We would have liked to have bought more cargo shorts, but no more were in his size. They also had no dress pants in his size at all. I have also still yet to go into Orlando to buy them... .it's on my list. LOL There were two people working in the men's section. One was a man who was an asshole and didn't want to help at all. He was too busy gossiping with someone. Finally, as we were shopping for my husband, we saw a female employee and she was so very helpful. She helped find more shirts and also the shorts. She even helped with a new belt. I give them 3 stars because I can be there in just 12-15 minutes. It's convenient and they "may" have what I need to keep from going into Orlando. It's also clean and organized. I also give them 3 stars because I fount the cutest Tervis insulated tumbler with llamas all over it and it's also my favourite colour blue. The mildew / must / mold smell is so overwhelming on the top floor that I can't fathom how anyone can shop here. How can anyone work here? I see reviews complaining about a musty smell from 5 or 6 years ago! That's astounding. I couldn't stay in long enough to find what I was looking for, nor did I want to purchase anything that would come with that suffocating smell. And it's unfortunate because they seemed to have tons of options to choose from so I probably could have spent my money here. Obviously this isn't the fault of anyone working here, I'm honestly more concerned for their health than anything else because they have to breathe that in for hours on end. If this has been an ongoing issue for years there must be some ungodly water damage happening in this section of building that needs to be addressed. read more

This store is gross. It's like the ax is barely working and it's humid and musty and guess what, their clothes smell like it. Nobody around to help. I also had the displeasure of using their disgusting bathroom. Truck stops are nicer. All around bad experience. For a higher end store they need to do way better. read more

Two-story anchor location at the Altamonte Mall. They have standard offerings for the chain, and nothing really that is different tor unique enough to call attention to. I do enjoy their home section sales since they have Kate Spade items for a discount, which is a plus for me. Their novelty sports section in housewares is pretty quirky and cute also if you are into that kind of thing. Staff is usually only found at the cash register areas, and those are kinda hit or miss. They are always in the housewares and jewelry section, however, so that's good to know if you need it. Overall: B Usual jazz for the chain, housewares deserves a look. read more

But what I've found is that, over the years, when once they used to carry pretty much all 'good stuff', there's some lower-grade merchandise creeping in now. Terrible experience. I went to use the unisex change room to try on clothes. . The lady would not allow my husband to sit on the chair outside of the dressing room. We were confused and asked if this was a female only change room because there was a seat right outside of the door that he was told he was not allowed to sit in. It was not a "female only change room" but she stated there were already women and daughters in there. She then allowed another male to walk into that same area that my husband was not allowed in to take a picture of his wife and daughter in there outfits. A picture that I happened to be in the back of. I just simply wanted to try on clothes without having to walk all the way back in the store to show my husband. I do not understand why she would let one male back there but not another. read more

I love the huge selection of purses this location has they always have excellent customer service specially in the perfume section, this location is kind of older and needs an update, but despite that is my favorite location based on their huge selection of name brands. Went in with my mother to try and find her a bra that wouldn't cause her severe pain due to some medical issues. The two ladies (I never got their names) were very rude and strictly just trying to force sales and bra fittings on her. The bra fittings werent an issue whatsoever, however her band size is a 40 as that's where most of her pain is so it has to stay on the loose side. The two women were repeatedly trying to cram her into a 36 even though she was visibly and audibly in pain. We had to have been explaining to them at least 6 separate times on how much pain she was in but they would continue to yank and pull on the bands of the bras they were putting on her in the exact places where we told them she was hurting. They had no care about her well being whatsoever and only wanted to make a sale off of her. Would not recommend going there to get fitted for a bra and personally will never be shopping in that store again. read more

I visited this Dilliard's yesterday evening after going to the cinema at the Altamonte Mall. It has been a long time since I shopped at Dilliard's. And although some of the reviews here for this store are not favorable, I am glad that I stopped in. When I entered the men's clothing department, I was instantly greeted by a sales clerk who was more than happy to assist me with shopping. Unlike Macy's at the Fashion Square Mall, where I have had sales clerks run off and hide as soon as I approach the sales counter. Not only was I able to find the Big and Tall department, but I was able to find what I wanted in stock. At some stores, finding items in the mens Big and Tall department can be a hassle, with an item you are looking for not in stock. And if I need to buy clothing, it may just be worth the drive to shop here and find the size that I need. It will also give me a reason to shop the other interesting stores that this mall has to offer. read more

Wow! Really impressed with their amazing plus size collection for women! We were helped out with a lovely sales lady called Eloise who found some great buys and steered me towards clothes that really flattered my figure. The quality of the fabric was really exceptional and some of the designs are timeless classics that will look good no matter the style du jour! I will also be the first to admit that the value for money comparison might suffer compared to a brand like Torrid ( i.e. You could probably only get two dresses at Dillard's whereas you could get 4 for the same price at Torrid) but it's lovely to see brands like Calvin Klein make clothes for the larger size woman! I'd have to agree with the comments below -- limited selection and self-service should be an option, just check yourself out and go! It really is a challenge to find an associate to help you. And typically, I don't need one. But when I do, the very small sales staff becomes very apparent. I'm rating this two stars for the reasons above, as well as Dillard's has a very poor return policy -- both if you buy in the store and online. I've found them to be difficult. As an example, recently, tried to return two dresses purchases online with my credit card. Happened to have a Dillard's bag, so instead of carting them through the store in the box that they were shipped in, I put them in this bag. They wouldn't take the return without the shipment box. Luckily, I happened to have this in my car, planning on tossing it in the trash. So I had to go back out to my car and cart this box through the store... which is fine, other than why? I've just always found them to have these odd rules and requirements that are never quite spelled out and unlike other department stores. I also think there is a huge lack of training among associates which may make some appear unprofessional. This doesn't necessarily hinder my ability to shop there, but it's a head's up. It's not a customer-oriented store. That being said, they have a great little area with a large selection of costume jewelry on sale (typically half-price) that is always replenished and seems to never go away. One of my favorite places to stop when I'm at this mall. read more

Not sure if it's Dillards in general but I'm not a fan of this location. It's just so outdated and the lighting is so blahh...well except in cosmetics. We stopped in here on New Year's Day and it was a madhouse. I expected womens shoes to be nutso b/c of the additional 50% off clearance but that is an understatement. And then they had the clearance shoe racks roped off? Not sure what that was about. Womens handbags was the same way. Women were literally like vultures over the clearance handbangs. And they had a sign up stating that there was a 4 handbag limit per person. Good luck with that. I just find that the selection is not the best and that popular items/sizes sell out quickly. They have some great clearance sales but it's obvious from our visit that you have to camp out early and be willing to browse rows and rows of racks. It's not my first choice for department stores but if I'm in the area I would do a quick browse of select departments. read more

Visited this Dillard's after looking for a unique plus size store for women. Since I'm from MI. and we don't have them I was excited to find this one, I thought they were all out of business. Surprised to find the entire lower level devoted to women's fashions. Hugh plus size dept. but I was surprised to find that many of the XL styles outside of the plus size area in other dept. fit my figure as well. sales representative in two areas were Very helpful. They stuck by my friend and I made us comfortable offered us water as we were frantically trying on scads of clothes. Overall great shopping experience, but as usual I spent way too much money, On Great Bargins. read more

Erica from Clinique spotted me walking in with a 'deer in the headlights' look and came up and greeted me right away. Not only was she able to find all the items that was needed, she made sure I qualified for the promotional gift with purchase and helped me pick the right bonus items. My wife was thrilled that not only I completed the primary task but I was able to come back with unexpected extras. If you are shopping for Clinique @ Dillards, make sure to as for Erica. My mother-in-law and went here looking for a dress for a formal occasion. As soon as we walked in, the smell of mold or mildew hit us. There was lots of beautiful gowns but we couldn't stand the smell long enough to find something. I had a full blown headache after 15 minutes in the store. read more

Went to the men's department with my boyfriend to purchase him work pants. The guy helping us was great; knew what he was talking about and sold us on a couple of pair -- one needed to be altered though. As we were leaving I told the guy that I would be picking them up the following Monday and I asked if I needed to retain the ticket for when I pick them up, since they're not in my name. He said all I needed was the name, that the ticket was not necessary. I drove there this afternoon, in heavy traffic, and the guy we previously worked with was not there. The man that helped me was extremely rude and basically treated me as if I were a pant thief. I would have gladly brought the ticket with me if I would have known the guy behind the register took his job way too seriously. He wanted the exact phone number that was on the slip, which is laughable because my boyfriend never gives out his real phone number. I scrambled to find the correct number while the guy kept saying quips like "you're going to have to do better if you want these pants." Rude. As I was leaving, I let him know that I will not be coming back to that location. It's a shame too because the first guy we worked with was extremely helpful and pleasant. Dillard's Altamonte is very selective when it comes to greeting customers and assisting people. I walk into the shoes department often and they never acknowledge you busy or not. They will focus their help with some and not others. Very very sad. In other stores they greet you upon arrival but Dillard's does not. Very sad because we spend the same as others. read more

I agree with the other reviewers that this particular location is in need of a major update. However, that's not why I've stopped shopping there - it's because they literally BLAST music throughout the store and you can't escape it in any department. My review concerns unfair treatment as a prospective employee at the Dillards in Altamonte. When I first went there and spoke with Dawn upstairs in Customer Service, I felt so encouraged because she was so nice. I then interviewed with Scott, who led me to believe he would be hiring me. To make a long story short, I didn't hear back, and after investigating the matter I was told by the store manager, Nancy Nguyen, that I had a discrepancy on my application. According to her, I was hired 13 years ago at a store in Ohio, didn't show up for the job, and was ineligible for rehire. I was floored by this and told her that yes, I had lived in Ohio, but I'd never even applied at Dillards before. I called the store that I allegedly was hired at and learned it was a store that wasn't even near where I lived. I told Nguyen this and she said she couldn't help me, that I'd need to call Social Security because the Social Security number and name were mine. I contacted SS as Nguyen wished, was told by SS that numbers can be stolen, and that is what must have happened to me. After being hold for an hour, when I spoke with a SS representative, they told me to notify the IRS, which I then proceeded to do. I also checked my credit report, just to make sure there hadn't been further fraud committed. The whole thing will remain a mystery, but all I know is I'm not the person who applied to a store in Ohio and didn't show up. I told Nguyen this and I also e-mailed Dillards, insisting that they remove this black mark against my name. I also by the way signed an affidavit I sent the IRS telling them about this incident. Meanwhile, Dillards refused to remove this unfairly placed mark against my record. I informed them that this was a despicable thing to blame me for something I had nothing to do with this all. To date, no one has had the courtesy to remedy the situation. What was a pleasant experience with Dawn turned into a nightmare because of Nguyen's actions/inactions. I will not allow my name to be damaged unfairly, so I'm telling my story. read more
