Went in today to look for a pair of Shoes. I wanted at least 15 minutes til I could get someone to help me and the only reason was because the other people got tired of waiting. Let me say it was not busy, just all the help on there phones. The girl I finally got to help me brought me the shoes I wanted but when she pulled out of the box they had obviously been worn and returned. I told her I would take them if she could get me a new pair. She said fine and left to get a new pair. She was gone for a long time and when she got back she handed me a closed box. I asked her if these were new shoes and she said yes. I opened the box and they were the old shoes that she tried to clean because they were wet!!! This is the worst service and trying to pass off old shoes as new ones is very bad business. They were very expensive shoes at $195!! She should have just said they didn't have another pair instead of trying to fool me. read more

I recently attempted attempted to return three garments purchased from the men's department on March 17, 2021. Evidently, these items were on sale, and part of the fall winter collection. As such, they have a three day return limit, which is printed on the receipt. I asked to return the garments for cash or store credit. The manager on duty said the return was impossible because that collection had already been transferred out of the store. My original trip to Dillards, when making the purchase in question, was my first time in a department store in a year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. During that visit, I received unskilled assistance as the men's department was not staffed. I purchased 3 sport coats and several dress shirts with no proper fitting assistance. The return policy was not highlighted by the sales associate. With the fierce competition for retail market share, it's a bit surprising to me that your business fails to capitalize on the in person experience. Dillards had the opportunity to gain a customer through exemplary customer service, (how hard is an exchange to get a customer in a proper fitting sport coat). Instead of a returning customer, you have an unhappy customer sharing their poor experience. read more

It was the best of retail, it was the worst of retail. What exactly does customer service mean at Dillard's? My wife wanted shoes, and I wandered through the Men's Department. She got fantastic service, told me about it, and even told the young lady that she was doing a fantastic job. She was knowledgeable and took the time to bring out five different pairs of shoes. As I wandered the Men's department I actually bumped into two young employees sitting on a counter. One did say hello, but that was all that I got. Back in the day when I worked retail clothing there was always something to be doing, and, based on my experience in the men's department, there were things to be doing. I still remember, 'If you've got time to lean, you've got time to clean." That little saying applied to rounders that needed to be sized and straightened, racks that had been gone through, and even the floor, that could have been vacuumed. To provide further clarification, this was not all of the Men's Department, in other sections of the Department there were sincere people attempting to provide customer service. The negative vibe I got was primarily in the young Men's Department. So, the women's shoe department get's five stars, and the young Men's Department get's one, averaging to a three. It's sad, and I'm hoping this is the exception and not the rule. Dillard's has good quality merchandise, and they generally try to provide good customer service. I went in for a jasmine perfume and was helped by a saleswoman who had me try some, however when she could tell it wasn't exactly what I was looking for she recommended a different store. Great value merchandise, orderly, clearly labeled and well marketed around the store. I was able to secure some "treasures" from my favorite designer brands at reduction of prices. Just a fair customer service requiring some training due to few rude behavioral patterns and just a bad attitude, although it seemed like reactions to anger with themselves or their perceived inadequacy... Please hire some happy, upbeat staff, who enjoys working with people and it is particularly good at interacting with others (extroverts, a real people persons). read more

Wonderful selection! It seems since the pandemic that most stores like this one haven't had much selection, but this was not the case at Dillards. I went in for a gift card and left with a couple of new clothing pieces from Daniel Cremieux, and their sale rack was also very intriguing. I can't wait to go back and shop here again! read more

It's a bit pricey for me most of the year. But on New Year's Day a friend and I can easily spend three hours here and we did. All clearance items are an additional half off. Be prepared- use restroom before going and bring a large tote to carry your purchases. Hit the shoes first and last - for several hours they bring out stacks of shoe boxes constantly. Shoes originally over $100 for as low as $17. Weave in and out of every department as racks are all over. My booty included jeans, 6 sweaters and a pair of shoes for under $150, easily about $500 on a regular day. Beware - do all your shopping first, so you can try everything on at the same time. Why ? Because waiting lines at the dressing rooms are long. The one day a year I shop here. read more

Dillard's is one of my top choices for clothing. Though pricy, they carry top quality merchandise. Dressing rooms are clean and the items are well displayed. The shoe department is great and they carry an excellent selection of casual and dress shoes. When they have a sale, the prices are very reasonable considering the quality. One negative is when they do have a sale, it can be very crowded especially on weekends. The last time I went, I did not find the staff as helpful or as available to help as I had come to expect from a high end store. Maybe I just hit it on an off day. read more

Every January 1st, Dillard's has the amazing sale. The prices are low, therefore, the sale attracts throngs of people looking for bargains. And bargains they have, for example, today I bought a Nautica sweater, 2 Nautica long sleeve T-shirts, and Calvin Klein boxer shorts. Total bill a little over $71.00. The original price of the sweater was $89 bucks. I have to admit it takes patience, a good eye, looking for what you like, and did I say patience. It can be hectic, but better to go early before merchandise gets disheveled and mixed with other brands. Also the more popular sizes are more apt to be in supply. To my current knowledge of retail sales, I would say, in the Reno area, this is the sale of the year. Mark your calendars for January 1, 2019. read more

I like Dillards in that service is good, the store is clean and the staff is knowledgable. When it comes to their mens selections, they have a good amount however you are definitely going to want to wait for some kind of sale or have a coupon to get a decent price. My wife likes shopping here and they do have a good selection for her so that is good. We both like the location since we live in the south part of town. I don't know why people keep comparing this Dillards to the Macys in Meadowwood Mall. That Macys while they have decent brands and pricing have some of the worst "could-give-a-sh**" employees of all time. Dressing rooms at macys are messy and don't get picked up and their mens shoe selection and staff is the worst. read more

I went to Dillard's with my 5yr old daughter to get some clothes for both of us. We had a great experience upstairs with the sales associate in the Women's department. Then we went downstairs to look for a Shu Uemura (sp) eyelash curler. I have had one for years and wanted a new one but I was open to another brand as well. We walked through the makeup section 6 times and not one associate made eye contact nor asked if I needed help. I had my big bag so clearly I was willing to spend some money. Maybe it was my daughter or that I was wearing jeans and a T-shirt. Very disappointed. read more

RACIST! RACIST! RACIST! I am a white female and had took my friend whom is a woman of color to Dillard's (yesterday 7/24) to find a dress for a wedding we were attending. Two of the employees stalked us the entire time while we shopped and repeatedly asked ONLY my friend to hold onto her cloths. We politely kept saying no but then they just kept insisting! We headed down stairs to get away from the two lady's but we're then approached by the security guard asking us if we were finding everything okay! (I have been to Dillard's multiple times and have never even been talked to by an employee due to shit customer service let alone a damn security guard!) After being approached by the guard we were about to head to the fitting room to try on a few more things before the same lady's whom where upstairs following us were now at the same dressing rooms asking my friend to hold her things!!! UNBELIEVABLE. We then went the the checkout counter near the underwear section and laid the cloths down and said "sorry we'll be taking our business elsewhere" and the lady at the counter said AND I QUOTE " better steal from elsewhere, have a great day". Will never ever shop there again. My poor friend was racially profiled as a theft because she was black, and they treated me poorly because I was with her!! Sickening. read more

The store has decent selection. I don't mind paying higher price as long as these items do not go on sales. The reason for the low rating is the demeanor of sales associates. They need to learn common courtesy and learn to greet customers and stop looking at their favorite mobile devices instead of attending to customer's needs. Some are too busy to talk to each other to arrange the fitting room. Some are too condescending to even look up an item. Some others just don't want to talk to me. Their attitude turned me away so bad that I ended up going to Roseville or Palo Alto stores. I understand Reno is growing city and I am sure the store can hire more civilized associates. read more

Very little fashion or style in clothing or housewares. As I, we, were coming down the escalator I asked My sister, how did Kate Spade get so popular, her line is so pedestrian. Now mind you, I am a customer talking softly to my sister and as we were passing the hand bags I hear this very loud voice of a male saying, and we just started caring Kate Spade. I know this is reno people still think Michael Kors is fashionable while the rest of the country has moved on. As he moved on in his loud voice he continued to speak ill of the taste of the reno customer. This guy was short, or maybe not as the woman with him was a tall very thin blonde. In any case he wore glasses and an ill fitting suit. I assume he works for Dillard's. So dude, yeah I agree your merchandise is lacking in any fashion foreword thinking but that is your buyers fault, not the customer. The customer buys what is available even if it is butt ugly. We went in to purchase a Father's Day gift this week. It's still a Covid-19 world, so employees were all wearing masks. Sadly, many of these Dillard's employees had the masks down around their mouths with their noses exposed. When we approached a salesperson to make sure she knew that masks are ineffective when not covering nose AND mouth, she rudely told us she knows that and then laughed. We decided to ring up our purchase in a different section of the store, and our salesman (who WAS appropriately masked and lovely) admitted that the woman we interacted with is actually a manager. This weekend we were looking for shoes for my sister's wedding. We had to be at a dress fitting in two hours so we were in a mad dash to find a pair of shoes for her to wear. Thomas (the shoes salesman) could see that we were in need of assistance so he came to help us. There were a couple pairs of shoes that she seemed interested in, but we asked if he could look in the back to see if there were any other pairs of shoes in a silver color. We were pleasantly surprised when he came back with a pair that they had just gotten in that morning. These ended up being the pair that my sister picked to wear to her wedding. I went there to find an outfit for my Christmas party. Important to note, I can feel overwhelmed shopping...gives me anxiety. I kept telling my husband I wished sales people would help me (usually feel I'm on my own). My husband knew I'd saved some pics of items I liked on my phone and he approached a salesperson who led us to Lisa. She greeted me with the biggest smile, happy to look to see what styles I liked and off we went. She gathered up items (even grabbing the correct size pants because I didn't really know my size). Then, as I was trying things on, she brought over Angelique. She proceeded to help me by going to the jewelry department to find a necklace for the outfit. I told her I would need to purchase different undergarments and off she went to get exactly what I needed! I thought I would be exhausted and overwhelmed. Instead, I felt like a celebrity. They made me feel so calm and like I was the only customer in the world. Such a special experience. We laughed and had such a good time. I felt like they were friends who wanted me to feel amazing in my new clothes. I hugged them and hope they know how they turned a near panic attack into what felt like a party for me. I was pleasantly surprised when I stopped by the Estee Lauder counter at Dillard's for help in selecting a shade of powder foundation. Well, my drugstore foundation just got a major downgrade (it's in the trash!) and my new foundation is a perfect fit for my skin tone and coverage needs. Thanks to a neat gadget the salesperson put on my skin she could tell the range I was in: "You have a lot of pink!" and patiently prepped samples for me to try. I was so pleased I bought two compact foundations, and the whole transaction was completed in under 10 minutes. That's service and value! read more

I had an unpleasant experience today. I went to look at Kate Spade hand bags and accessories for a birthday present for my aunt. While wandering around checking things out, I was approached by a sales associate asking how she may help me. I explained I was just looking for something Kate Spade, to which she replied "Unfortunately I don't have anything for you to buy that is on sale". I was caught off guard, not sure if she was saying what I felt she was implying. I simply replied "Oh that's fine, I'm not here for a sale, I'm just looking for a birthday present". She proceeded to stand there while I looked at some accessories, pointing out cheaper options, until I was hurried to check out. Now, I wasn't necessarily looking for a bag or clutch because I wasn't sure what my aunt has or doesn't have because she loves Kate Spade. This felt like a missed opportunity for her to maybe show me the latest collection or wallets or something. To insinuate that I couldn't afford something is an experience I've never encountered before. I left rationalizing her actions, thinking about how I was dressed casual today, in leggings and a sweater, and maybe I didn't look the most put together... but I shouldn't have been treated that way regardless of how I looked. I wasn't going to say anything later, but as today has gone on, I felt more and more upset about my experience. I don't want anyone to feel the way I did today. read more

No small sizes whatsoever! I have a Dillard's account I practically can't use here in Reno. There literally are zero small sizes in many of their department and on their racks. I'm not sure why they are not stocking smaller sizes, but this has been an issue at this store for years. I attempted to buy some new Ecco running shoes at $150, the display size was a Euro 41 and I need a 40, they clerk tried to order it to be sent to me free shipping - but their system would not allow it to be ordered even with the manager on the phone trying to help the very nice clerk. I just said I'll go get them off Eccos website and thanks for "trying to" make a sale I almost went and returned my 3 pair of jeans because of my dissatisfaction with this store. The place was completely quiet - no sound- Barely anyone was working there at all. I will be no longer shopping in the men's department, and probably will be paying off and canceling my Dillard's card no longer willing to participate in that. read more

The customer service here is really bad. Noone is available to help and this was pre covid. Now when you come there is noone available to buy/return. Today I searched around, found a place to return, we had to go upstairs then that counter could not return the item, then I had to go to the customer service desk. I told her gosh this is the third counter I have been to she didn't say a thing...no I'm sorry etc. Then she couldn't figure out how to return it. It took 20 minutes. Go to Nordstrom Rack or Macy's instead. Much more seamless and better service. read more

I purchased a cocktail dress from Dillards Reno on 12/6. When I went to cashier, luckily she noticed that several "rhinestone" type beads were missing. She then ordered me another, as they didn't have another in my size. I wore on New Year's Eve and before I even got out the front door, about 3 beads fell off. I went to the store to return but didn't have the original reservation number they kept asking for or original receipt. I told them I charged to my account, but they said they couldn't look up accounts. I then said I just got the statement in the mail and I would take a picture and give them purchase info. I even had the original tag that was on the dress. Again, no that wasn't what they needed. They couldn't find my info in computer so called dept manager. Again, couldn't find my name, number or email in system. They were not helpful and on the rude side. I returned home and called customer service and they said they had info in computer and said there should be no problem returning the defective item. I was told an auditor would call me back the next day. As of yet, didn't happen. I returned the next day with a copy of my statement, and spoke with another cashier. She found my info with no problem. She said there was something odd in the computer, but had no problem returning the dress and crediting to my account. Much better experience than the day prior! read more

Gotta say when I was looking for shoes for narrow feet, there are very few places in town that have a decent selection. Enter Dillard's mens shoe department. The associate that assisted me was very aware of the brands that ran narrow. She then helped me find a pair of burgundy dress shoes that were not perfect but would work some inserts and heel guards. Throughout the entire process she stayed with me and helped me put on every pair of shoes. (Not just dropping multiple boxes and saying good luck like other retailers in the area.) I appreciate great service and while Dillard's was not on my radar, it is now. I'll return for my next pair of business shoes and potentially more. read more

This is one of the few places I shop for clothes in Reno. I prefer department stores to single-label stores because I don't like shopping, and department stores have more variety in styles and more variety in prices, from low to high-end, so I can find everything I need in one store. It used to bum me out because it seemed like they had clothes for juniors and clothes for old ladies with nothing in between. Well, either they fixed it, or I've just become an old lady, because now I find lots of clothes there that I like. Shoes, purses, lingerie and juniors on the ground floor. Upstairs they have more mature options - although I still shop both floors. I really appreciate the fact that the dressing rooms are unlocked and ready to go. I rarely ask for help while shopping, and I hate having to chase down a clerk to unlock a dressing room, only to knock 4 minutes later to ask me how I'm doing. None of that here - just walk right in with as many items as you want and get going. The downside to that is that people are pigs and they'll leave their discarded clothes all over the place. Sometimes the dressing rooms are in need of attention. Please people - don't be pigs! It's not nice! The same can be said for the men's selection. My husband's entire wardrobe is from Dillards - they have a nice variety of athletic clothes, work clothes and casual clothes. Their sales are THE BEST! They often have sales where all clearance items are an additional 30%-40% off. You can really clean up during these sales. We have the Dillards credit card which gets us the sale 1 day before everyone else, and it's definitely worth it, because stuff goes fast! The clerks are all friendly and helpful, the store is always clean. They have in-store wi-fi, which is nice because for several years it was impossible to use your phone inside the store - so obviously they listened to their customers and took care of that. Yes, its WAY in South Reno, but definitely worth the drive! read more

My husband and I went to Dillards to get my husband a suit for a masters presentation he had. The guy who helped us was nice but I will not be going back to Dillard's after all this. The guy had my husband buy a shirt that was to small for him. Everything he gave us didn't fit! They sent us to a tailor who ruined my husbands suit!! They didn't even bother taking in the jacket to make it fit him better. Then the legs were hemmed to short and one leg was shorter than the other!!! RUINED!! My husband had to borrow a suit from family that was actually tailored correctly and use it. Even though that suit wasn't tailored for my husband it fit better than the suit we bought at Dillards and had tailored at Alterations Connections. Save your money and go to somewhere like Mens Wearhouse instead! We are so disappointed in Dillards for this fiasco! read more

Men's Shoes. Called in advance as the evening closing time was creeping up on us. Do you have men's size 14 dress shoes. Yes, we do. Special trip south from Meadowood. Got there. No, they don't. Not a single pair. Biggest is a 13. Had a pair of 13 1/2 shoes, but not dress shoes. Rest of store is usually 3 to 4 stars, but this one interaction stands out because I needed a pair of shoes right away, it's a weeknight and I have to work tomorrow and I'm short on time, I bothered to make the call, and made a special trip based on the erroneous information. Why did I bother to call? I won't make that mistake again calling Dillard's. My wife doesn't care for the Origins folks jumping out at her when she walks through cosmetics. Get rid of those folks. Therefore, solid 2 for that department, too. Origins belongs in a mall location outside of a real store near the watch battery guys and the custom cap makers. Definitely doesn't belong inside of a upscale department store. I try to think of our local Dillard's being like a Nordstrom. It's not. It is probably the best department store in Reno, but it's not consistent and I'm reminded again that it's not Nordstrom. read more

Been a while since I've reviewed this place so I should update. I went for three stars before and that's all I'm giving it again. You can get some ok deals here on occasion, but overall the sales are much better at Macy's, especially if you're a member of their reward program. It just blows the prices and specials here away most of the time. Selection isn't good as Macy's either. Macy's just has nicer and more upscale brands and more variety to choose from. I have to laugh at all the reviews that are saying this Dillard's is better than Macy's and complaining that Dillard's "looks nicer." Is the store nicer physically than Macy's? Sure. Its also much newer, although Macy's has updated the store in a lot of ways. I'm not buying the appearance of the store, its about the products and value and in that regard Macy's crushes Dillard's like a grape. Customer service is much better at Macy's in both men's and women's. At Dillard's, the men's folks were ok, but not great, but when my wife shops in the women's section we either have to fend off people anxious to check us out or there is no one to be found. There is no middle ground. You get some of the former at Macy's, although less often, and the latter never happens there. read more

The store is very nice with fabulous selection. When I shop somewhere that has premium prices like Dillard's, I expect at least better than average customer service. In my mind good service is worth paying for. Customer service at this particular store ranges from two to five stars depending on the department. I recommend the fine fragrance and Estee Lauder counters for the best customer service. Women's clothing: 4 stars Purses & Designer purses: 4 Stars Shoes: 2 stars They either ignore you completely or are high pressure. I continue to purchase shoes here, but I avoid the employees. The shoe department has awesome sales but the exchange and return policy on clearance is very restricted. Read the fine print and beware. Clinique Counter: 2 stars during peak times, 3 stars when not crazy busy. Estee Lauder Counter: 5 stars solid. Professional, friendly, helpful. They know the line really well and make fantastic recommendations. Well done! Probably the best customer service in Dillard's. Fragrance Counter: 5 stars, excellent with tricky gift returns or online order exchanges etc. They have helped me out when other cosmetics counters didn't know what to do. As a bargain shopper, I was always leery to go to Dillards; I live in Curti Ranch, a whole two minutes away and I refused to humor the place. The main reason being that I assumed it was a high-end (see: very expensive) establishment that only exemplified my love for online shopping (see: Amazon). However, I recently purchased a Coach purse and wallet for my sister's graduation present on Coach.com. They were having a huge summer sale, so I got the purse and wallet for almost $400. My sister took forever to come pick up her gift, so during that time I fell in love with the purse. It gave me ample time to 'sleep on it' and after about 5 days I had decided I really wanted one. Lo and behold, when I returned to coach.com, the sale was over...Just my luck. This brought me to Dillards.com as I remember seeing -- from previous online shopping adventures -- that they sold Coach purses, as well as many other high-end brands that I love. I found the purse that I wanted in a great color, with a matching wallet; they wanted a few bucks more than Coach did, but I figured I'd be saving money on shipping. Drive there after I get off work and head straight to the purse section. *Side note: I hate shopping so much, I looked up the floor map on dillards.com to see where exactly the purse section was.* I instantly notice they have a great layout in the purse department with quite a bit of 30% off and 50% sales racks (OH.EM.GEE). I scour these racks for about 3 minutes, making my way to the Coach section. As soon as I get there, a woman named Marta asked if she could help me. Not a fan of wasting time, I instantly point to the Edie I saw on the 30% rack and asked, "Yes, do you have that purse in the nude?" "Come with me, I'll show you the one I have." She replies. It ended up being the nude (thank you, Jesus)! It also was on the 50% RACK! So, instead of the $293 sale price they had on dillards.com, it was marked at about $187! I said, "I'll take it!" She unlocks it and I immediately ask for the matching jet set wallet. Again, we look through the displays and my heart kind of sinks as I couldn't see it. She told me to wait so she can check in back. A few minutes later she comes strolling towards me with the nude jet set wallet and exclaims that it had also been reduced in price just today. On dillards.com it was on sale for $107...I paid $74. Out the door, I paid for a wallet and purse for under what I paid for just my sister's purse. This may sound all superficial and you probably want me to get to the damn review, already. Needless to say, Marta was EXCELLENT. She made my shopping experience very enjoyable and expedient - just how I like it. I'm pretty sure I was out of there in less than 10 minutes. While my opinion is only based off the purse department and probably somewhat biased, as I knew what I wanted and they, thankfully, had it, I'm still giving them 5 stars and will update as needed. I've been in a few times in the past for shoes. Once was for me, and another time was for my youngest daughter. Both occasions went very well and I was in and out in no time (and I wasn't given any grief for using my boyfriend's ATM card, which is a huge point for me since I do 80% of our household shopping with his card). I went in to get fitted for a few new bras. I've had myself measured before at Lane Bryant, and been told a VERY wrong size. Dillard's is much better at bra sizing than any place I've been to before. I had my 2 daughters with me, so I was taken into one of the larger fitting rooms so we had room. I thought it was a little weird at first that the lady had me remove my shirt to measure me, but I know getting an accurate measurement through clothes is much harder. As soon as she saw my bra she told me exactly where I was going wrong in my bra wearing. She ran out grabbed a bra and came back and actually put it on me (directing me here and there for some things). I was rather amazed that I was so very off in what I had been wearing. It seemed comfortable enough. She also explained to me why proper fitting bras are important and had me try on quite a few different styles and brands. I found one I liked and got 2 of them. While I'm still not sure how I feel about being so exposed in front of a stranger (which is baffling because I've given birth twice) I like having proper fitting clothing enough that I'll continue to go back and get fitted at Dillard's when I'm in need of new clothes. And for the record, Dillard's is way nicer than Macy's here. Macy's has been around for some time and it's starting to look and feel run down, but that's another review. :P read more
