The fronts of the washing machines were extremely dirty and several did not work. While the bank of dryers on the north wall appeared new, many dryer doors would not stay closed. If you made the mistake of feeding money into the wrong dryer you had to stand there, hold it closed or keep shutting it. Thus, losing valuable time on an expensive adventure already. Other coin receivers were just taped over. It does appear that the owners have recently started repairs by putting up newer drywall on the ceiling. However, there is a considerable lack of pride in ownership. Luckily, Lake Placid is only a few extra miles in the other direction from our campground. We are camping in the area and after a visit to this location (our worst of 4 campsite towns visited in 5 weeks) I have reconsidered purchasing a washer / dryer comboniation for our RV.

At this point, I hadn't been able to do laundry for my family for 3 weeks so I went to Good Deals and bought a new one. They called me to set up delivery/install. I informed them that I had already bought a new one and they could just leave it in the garage. I just tried it out to see if it actually works and they didn't repair anything. They actually have notes that say the counter balance weight was broken and not worth the repair but customer (me) had already bought a new one so go ahead and deliver. I did everything possible to avoid issues -- I confirmed timelines with my salesperson, Drew, to avoid a price increase and followed up with a call. Despite that, my quote increased. After some back and forth, they did honor the original price -- but the problems didn't stop there. Drew failed to place the order, even though I had submitted it and paid in full. That delay caused major availability issues, forcing me to purchase a more expensive microwave just to stay on schedule. When I needed to change one appliance, it took weeks just to get an updated proposal. I shared my install deadline well in advance, because I had out-of-town carpenters coming specifically to install the appliance panels. House of Appliances never got back to me in time, and I missed the window. Now I have to pay extra to get the panels installed later. To make matters worse, the refrigerator drawers and wine refrigerator arrived damaged. I was told they could be repaired -- but I paid full price, and I will not accept repaired appliances. These units are required for my Certificate of Occupancy and panel installation, and I still have no resolution. I even contacted a manager and have yet to receive any help. This kind of service is unacceptable.

We asked if we could still browse their showroom. Drew immediately welcomed us and then proceeded to spend nearly an hour going over all the appliances we were looking for: ovens, dishwasher, refrigerator, etc. All the while knowing there would be no eventual sale. Drew Meltz is the best appliance salesperson we have ever met, hands down. He is supremely knowledgeable about his products, patient, cordial and a real pleasure to work with. I previously bought a refrigerator off a floor sample sale where it was delivered with the handle. This summer, with a remodel I went there again and purchased a cook top and refrigerator again. Although Jim Reade neither verbally nor on my sales order wrote that the handle was not included I argued that a precedent was set. In fact it is a violation of law (Unfair and Deceptive Business Practices) as well as the Universal Commercial Code (UCC), he raised his voice and said "Get your own handle, I'm going home". It was 4:30. I asked him who he reported to and he refused to tell me. Shocked and horrified, I reached out to the other store and learned his boss is Tina Tsikisi who I called twice. After the second call she delegated it to another employee named Ed Fulop. He also said he would not provide the handle, even though it was not disclosed in any form that it was not included. What is wrong with these people? I spend nearly $10,000 and they treat customers like this? I would NEVER return and warn others, this is not a professional business. I bought a new handle for $200, I hope it was worth your reputation as I can see here isn't much to talk about.
