Dim Sum House was such a great find in Clermont! We arrived right when they opened for dinner and were seated immediately. The restaurant was very clean, the staff was attentive, and it started filling up pretty quickly after we arrived, which was a good sign. We ordered the wonton soup along with a variety of dumplings and buns, and everything we tried was delicious. The flavors tasted authentic, the food came out fresh, and it was one of those meals where we genuinely enjoyed everything on the table. We have been here many times but had the worst service tonight. We waited almost 2 hrs to get our food. When arriving it took 25 minutes for a waiter to come over and take a drink order. We then placed our orders 4 people and and then proceeded to wait 2 hours to get our food while other tables were getting food and we're already eating. We asked for the manager who could not explain why we were not getting our food. Ultimately we did not have to pay for our food. We gave the waitress $20 tip because she so frustrated with the kitchen and manager. Food is good but the service today sucked read more

I found Dim Sum House on TikTok and came in excited, but I'll be honest...I was disappointed with the Char Siu. I grew up going to dim sum, so I know exactly what it's supposed to look and taste like. This version felt like regular BBQ pork with honey poured on top, which just wasn't it. That was a letdown. That said, everything else we ordered was delicious. The Chinese broccoli was perfectly cooked, the shu mai and har gow were solid, the BBQ pork buns were fluffy and flavorful, and the sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf was really good. The black truffle dumplings were also a new dish for us and surprisingly delicious. Huge shoutout to our waitress, Naysha, who was amazing. When I told her I didn't like the Char Siu, she immediately took it off the bill without hesitation...great customer service goes a long way. This is a take out review: The food came hot and delicious. Since this is a takeout review, I don't have any comments on service or ambience. I'm gonna start with the hot and sour soup, which was delicious. I was craving this, but I don't normally get it with seafood tried it in in the future. Probably wouldn't get the seafood but would definitely get the soup again. The salt and pepper tofu was the sleeper hit! This was really delicious. There was a generous amount of toppings, jalapeños, green, onions, and chilies. Definitely recommend this when you're looking at appetizers. The bowl of rice was interesting. I didn't feel like one would be enough and at $1.30 it was a decent deal so we got four and that was more than enough for all the food we had. The barbecue bao steamed buns or for my son and he really enjoyed them, I tried one and they were good. Mongolian beef was delicious, I thought it would be spicier. The heat level wasn't very high that you can always add extra chili crisp Pan fried dumplings can't go wrong with that super good. Charcoal egg yolk bao buns were not bad but I've had better. I would try this again live at the restaurant, because normally these buns are really good, but you wanna eat them hot and fresh getting them to go and then eating them at the end of the meal probably didn't do them justice. Went for brunch and I have to say the food was good for the area. While Orlando not known for having Chinese cuisine, this was some of the better dim sum I've had in Florida. Service was good and had a cool atmosphere. Some dishes we ordered were the har gow and the shrimp chive dumpling. The filling on the har gow and shrimp chive dumpling was good but the wrapping was a bit thick. Overall I would highly recommend if you're in the Orlando area. The food is always fresh, perfectly seasoned, reasonably priced, and the portions are generous. The service is consistently excellent, too. When dining in, they serve meals family-style, which works perfectly given the large portion sizes. Some of our favorites include the house fried rice, pork fried rice, sesame chicken, grilled chicken with broccoli, pan-fried gyoza, soup dumplings, purple red bean buns, grilled chicken mix, and barbecue rice rolls. Honestly, everything we've tried has been delicious. They also offer great dine-in specials Monday through Thursday, such as appetizer day, wine day, beer day, and even a buy-one-get-one fried rice day, definitely worth checking out! Today I just felt like having some chow fung. Dim sum house has some really nice entrées and fabulous soups also. It is not just a dumpling house. It's one of the few places you can go sit down and enjoy your meal. There's not too many Asian restaurants like that other than going into Orlando. Service is always quick And they're always so helpful. Food was fabulous. Along with that I ordered a pot of tea. Nothing like sitting in a restaurant on a cold day and have a nice hot cup of tea. I do like the carts to help me see the items, but our server was very helpful in answering questions and giving recommendations. Most of the items were really good. I thought they should have been delivered at the end of the meal as they were sweet and reminded me of a dessert but they were one of the first items that came out to the table! Not many places serve honeycomb tripe, so that was a pleasant surprise--and it was delicious! The Mongolian beef was a bit on the sweet side for our taste, but the portions were perfect for lunch. The XO noodles had great flavor, though the noodles were a little thicker than expected, same for the har gow skin. We went for lunch around noon on a Sunday and we're seated promptly. The restaurant was a little over half full, but service was still very quick. The restaurant is very new looking on the inside and decorated how most modern Chinese restaurants in Orlando are; clean and minimal. You order dim sum off a laminated picture menu with dry erase markers, indicating how many of each item you'd like. The items come out as they're completed, so you get to graze and take your time. We ordered ask the traditional favorites, they definitely seem handmade and not mass produced frozen, unlike what we're starting to see a lot more of nowadays, at that was a refreshing surprise. The most delicious Asian cuisine in Central Fl. The only dish I usually get on their Dim Sum menu is their crystal shrimp dumpling (so good) but their main dishes are fantastic and reasonably priced for the quantity that you get. Family style servings to share and we usually will leave with leftovers. We order Shrimp Fried Rice, szcheuan chicken and a type of noodle dish. Everything is freshly made to order. Not sure what to say. The quality of the ingredients are on point and maybe because I never get the actual Dim Sum is why I never really love the food. I like it don't get me wrong, but it's different flavors from what I am used to in other Asian restaurants, so I believe it's just a preference issue for me. The rice to me is the wrong rice. Anybody who eats a lot of Asian cuisine will understand what I mean by that. But people love it. I came when they first opened. We got their wontons which were really good. My daughter felt their sesame chicken is not really a sesame chicken. It's more of a honey chicken with a few sesame seeds on top. The quality was great. She just doesn't overly love honey. A little is fine, of course but the whole thing just pretty much tasted like honey, was drizzled all over it. I got the Mongolian beef and it was good. But because we didn't love it. It took me a long time to come back. Until today. The spring rolls are crispy and delicious, but there really isn't very much vegetables in it. I really wish they could put a little bit more for $8. Mine were pretty hollow today with a few carrots and a piece of veggie here and there. I know it is tiny roll, but I've had these before other places and they usually do have a pretty good amount of vegetables. My meal came with a soup. I chose creamy chicken and corn soup. The flavor was delicious, but I'm not into the slimy soups. I did not realize their version of creamy meant more like an egg drop soup consistency, and not actually like a dairy creamy and the chicken in it reminded me of something that came from a can, but I'm sure it's not. It's probably just boiled chopped up chicken pieces. It just not my bag, but I will say as I did before the flavor was good. My meal was the walnut chicken. Now I've had walnut chicken or shrimp from many places. The sauce on it however, was very thick and not that flavorful. The chicken breading was good, but they had overcooked the chicken so much. It was really dry inside and very chewy. The walnuts were really delicious. I ended up not eating it and my very sweet server noticed and ended up getting it off my bill (of course he offered to remake it, but at that point, I just didn't want it anymore). He however brought me some pineapple buns and they were really delicious and sweet. That was really nice of him. Ricardo was a wonderful server and I tipped him to reflect it not what my bill reflected. All in all, I feel that restaurants are a preference. This does not happen to be one of mine, but that does not mean they're a bad restaurant. The quality is definitely there. The service is definitely there. I recommend you definitely try them out if you haven't because if their flavors are your preference, you're going to love this place. For this reason, I'm giving them a four out of five stars. They don't deserve to have their ratings brought down. read more

Really good. I made reservations and was happy that they were able to accommodate. We ordered a lot on the menu and the service was good. I suggest going for an early lunch before they get busy. Their dim sum was delicious and all their portions were good. The beef chow fun and the fried rice were also nice to have in addition to our dim sum. The bunny specialty dessert was so fun for the kids. My only complaint was I went to use the bathroom and they had NO toilet paper. I went to the host stand to let the girl know and she was literally squatting on the floor on her phone. I told her about the situation and she said "ill let someone know". Horrible experience. I have been a costumer for a very long time- unfortunately this experience will prevent me from ever going back. I placed an order with this restaurant and the food quality was terrible. The portion size was less than half of the container- it looked like someone ate out of it. The food was undercooked. I also called ahead of time to ask for chili oil since they have forgotten to put it in my order in the past. The girl who answered the phone confirmed that she would make sure it was in there; however, unfortunately it wasn't. I tried calling and they transferred me to the manager. She refused to give me her name. I was hung up on multiple times and my number blocked. The manager pretended that she couldn't hear me and when I asked for her name she repeated mine back to me. As someone who has Chinese members in his family, this place is great. The Dim Sum is always on point and has great options. If you come here for 'American' Chinese food, you WILL be disappointed. But if you're here for actual Dim Sum, you're in the right place. I really wanted this place to be awesome. It's just okay. I prefer a sit down restaurant for Chinese food. Dim Sum is a pleasant atmosphere, table service is excellent, location, all wonderful. The most important part tho lacked depth & enjoyment. The food. I tried the cashew chicken. It tasted like it was all warmed up & thrown together, cooked separate with no flavor. Bland as can be. My wife had her favorite Mongolian Beef. That was much better. There did seem to be an excess of onions to beef but the flavor was good. Portions were large which was nice but no rice! We had to ask for rice and I don't believe they charged us for it but we received a very small serving. Is it normal to serve Chinese meals without rice? Anyway, the jury is still out for our return. We'll prob try it again at some point but in the meantime we'll go back to the local Chinese takeout shops. read more

I was introduced to Dim Sum in 1990 and was instantly hooked. Since they I have tired to go there often (sometimes weekly) from then on. I have been to the BEST places and the worst and trust me, it can get pretty bad. First off you have to understand (and I have tried to make my own Dim Sum) it is NOT easy. It is just as difficult (if not more) than making good Sushi. So Trust me when I say: This is one of the BEST places I have been too and I will explain why. First the ambiance is that of any fine dining establishment. They have a nice wide open space and nice decorations. Silverware and ceramic plates, and plastic (not cheap wooded) chopsticks are provided. The Service is good, they are attentive and the servers get extra help from food runners and table cleaners. They always make sure your drink is full and your needs are taken care of. While they do NOT serve Dim Sum traditional style you can order from a menu and they will bring it out to you. Now lets talk about the food. This is some of the absolute BEST Dim Sum I have ever eaten. It is hot and fresh, with clearly fresh ingredients made by superior chefs. The portions are also considerably larger than I have seen in other places, so be careful not to over order. The price may SEEM high, but compared to prices I paid 20 years ago, it really is only $10 (per meal) more than I was spending for the same amount of food 20 years ago, and you get 20% more food for the price. I cannot say enough about how good their other dishes are as well, they have what some would call "traditional Chinese/American" dishes but I have never seen them done like this before. They put their own spin on the normal Chinese food we in America are used to and I cannot complain. Again Each dish is good for at least 2 people with a healthy appetite or 4 picky eaters there is so much food per entree' its best to share or be ready to take some home. Same with their soup, enough for 4 to 8 people per serving. You get your moneys worth here and its ALL outstanding. All in all I would highly recommend this place. read more

I was very happy to see a new "nicer" dining option in Clermont. There are so many casual/fast food/chain restaurants, and fewer date night options. My husband and I had an opportunity to go out to dinner without our kid one night, and decided to try Dim Sum House around 6pm on a Saturday. I wouldn't call it fancy but it's certainly a step up from most other local options. The restaurant was nearly full but we were able to get a table (without a reservation) fairly quickly. The restaurant has an extensive menu, including full entrees/appetizers along with a full Dim Sum menu which is always available. Both of us are allergic to shellfish so that limited some of our choices, but we still had a lot to choose from. We opted to order several dim sum options along with the honey chicken. Honey chicken came with I think EIGHTEEN pieces of chicken which is more than enough for a whole family - we took a lot of leftovers home! The chicken was fine but the honey flavor was quite strong, moreso than we've come to expect from honey chicken ordered in other establishments. I've had Shanghai (soup) dumplings in other restaurants before but didn't love the flavor in these. We also tried the steamed pork buns, deep fried sesame buns (a different filling than what I've had before, but still good!), and a beef rice roll. Service was prompt and food was served as it was available, at the appropriate temperature. While the taste of some of our items wasn't exactly to my liking, it wasn't terrible and might just be my own preferences. I'd still try it again, maybe with some different menu choices. read more
