Very authentic and delicious food. The soup dumplings were delicious and the broth was so flavorful! They were generously filled with filling as well. I also really enjoyed the chicken fried rice. Very flavorful and had a lot of chicken and rice in it. The Mongolian beef was spicy but still good if you can handle heat. The shrimp dumplings were phenomenal!!! The service was terrible. No friendly employees! 4 stars for the food. 2 for the service. Located on Restaurant Row which is a fun street!

I've been meaning to write a review for this place since I come here pretty often. The interior setup is a bit odd, but given how limited the space is, it makes sense. This is my go-to dim sum spot. It's definitely pricier than Chinatown, but the food quality makes the difference. A lot of Chinatown dim sum tastes pre-made or packaged, while this place actually tastes fresh. I don't mind paying more for that. The service is friendly and attentive, and I'd definitely come back--even with the quirky seating. :)

Food was great! The place is small but mighty. They turn the tables pretty quick. Enjoyed our choices!

The food was good overall. I just didn't like how the lady looked me up and down and asked if I was taking my food to go when I first got there while she asked everyone else where they'd like to sit. The gentleman server was better. I wouldn't come back because of that alone.

Dined here countless times and love everything about Dim Sum Palace. There are several locations and I usually visit this one or another near Macy's. They recently underwent a complete renovation of this space, looking contemporary and sharp. Whether it's their delicious Dim Sum such as Soy Dumplings or Seafood Peashoot, or main dishes as in Chicken with Mango or Garlic Sauce, you'll leave satisfied having experienced a delicious meal. Our order post theater was simple: Absolutely delicious Rose wine and a small variety of Dim Sum (Seafood Peashoot, Soy and Pan fried Shrimp combined with Chicken) followed by a shareable main: Chicken with Garlic Sauce. We also made the request to eliminate MSG. Result? Delicious, authentic, flavorful meal. By the way, I'm addicted to their warm Taro Buns but was too full to order during this visit. Dim Sum Palace has you covered across many locations in Manhattan (and even LIC). Try it.

I found myself always craving hot soup these past few weeks just about every time I'm in New York. When you become a regular neighborhood Yelper in Hell's Kitchen, you get to discover all sorts of restaurants of different cuisines and your favorite places you visit time and time again. This round, dim sum was on my mind and another stroll down Restaurant Row I find Dim Sum Palace for dinner. They have all your favorite dishes, appetizers, and a full bar. Wow this bar has some alcohol choices! They aren't expensive, it's casual dining, seems like they are doing renovations which is good in the restaurant industry or else businesses won't attract new and repeat customers. But the quality of food, portion of size, and most importantly cleanliness of the restaurant is what I notice the most compared to other dim sum restaurants I've heard of either back home or in NYC. I fully enjoyed my visit and would dine in again either during lunch and dinner hours go very late at night, perfect if you're getting out of the bar or a late night broadway show.

Ambiance: it's a small and packed Cantonese restaurant located not far from Times Square Service: friendly and promptly, patient with questions and provided useful suggestions, placed the order and served food fast Food: variety choices with an emphasis on seafood Lobster with Ginger & Scallions - **** very fresh and tight lobster meat, recommend Palace Dim - **** eight pieces, including shrimp dumping, shrimp dumping with mayo, seafood peashoot dumping, taro cilantro and pork dumpling, shredded roast duck dumpling, chicken dumpling, shrimp sausage chive dumpling, Buddha delight dumpling, recommend for the variety Price: generous portions and reasonable prices for this location, expect $30~$70 per person depends on how much seafood you order

After a long day's walk around New York and Brooklyn Bridge, Dim Sum Palace was exactly what we needed. The moment we entered the restaurant, we were transported to streets of Asia, in the sense that it was loud in a fun way! The restaurant is huge with plenty of seating. They have a huge menu to select from. We ordered a couple of dim-sums, spring roll, stir fried pork and noodles. Enjoyed all the dishes - the pork stir fry with vegetables really stood out and was my favourite dish for the night. The mixed mushroom dumpling was my favourite dumpling for the night. Must visit when in China Town!

Came back again with my family after seeing MJ (shameless plug it's REALLY GOOD-go check it out b4 it leaves) and we made sure we got dumplings. We ordered lots and yes my chicken ones again. SUPERB! We also ordered some duck item from the menu...good flavor; classic and the star anise shined. A soup was ordered and a fried rice shared by the whole table. YUM!!! I could eat here weekly if my life allowed!! As for the service, to keep it simple. I had my parents w/me and really wanted the round, lazy-Susan table in the back. However, a larger party had it reserved in about an hour 1/2 later. The manager was kind enough to give and I promised we'd be out. I appreciate him going above and beyond the normal way of doing business to give our family the space we needed to enjoy their delectable offerings! Being in the back provided the legroom required and the temperature setting (it was bleeding outside on Black Friday) that met the needs of all the ages and health care needs of every family member. Thanks. You will definitely see me again. I highly recommend...give it a try and tell us what you think.

Amazing food! Slightly upscale for dim sum - it's a narrow space so you won't find dim sum carts here. Instead you order off a menu and they bring it out to your table. The attentive service combined with the real tablecloths and presentation really added to the ambiance. I'm more accustomed to traditional dim sum restaurants where they sling food at you from a cart. I've had mixed experiences with ordering dim sum from a menu, so I was a bit hesitant upon arriving. To my delight, every dish was super fresh and tasty. A few dishes took a bit longer which I'm totally ok with since it's made to order and not sitting under a heat lamp. The ingredients were also high quality. For example the steamed pork buns had a good amount of quality meat, not the fatty kind with lots of gristle. Same with the steamed sticky rice - they didn't skimp on the meat and the texture of the sticky rice was perfect. Probably the best steamed sticky rice I've had anywhere. Also highly recommend the salt and pepper prawns, shrimp dumplings, and turnip cakes. Everything was fresh and wonderful. My new go to spot for dim sum in Manhattan!

Loved this! Stopped in for some late night dim sum and were given the choice of inside or outside. Sat inside and were served immediate. Both the mango iced tea and the yuzu sake were delicious and refreshing - my boyfriend took a photo of the sake bottle to be sure he could have it again. The variety of dim sum options were unique and each prepared beautifully-- highlights include the duck dumplings and the pineapple cheese wontons (trust me, dip them in the chili oil). A great late night stop for sure. Would absolutely come back!

I've been here multiple times and the quality has been consistent. It is quite pricey for dimsum if you compare it to locations in Chinatown, but considering the location it is acceptable. They recently did some remodeling and it feels more modern and clean.

When do they not have happy hour! We ordered entirely too much food. This is the perfect place to go and share food. We ordered for 4 although we were only a group of 2 and took so much home. The drinks were so strong 1 is like having 2. Try and save room for desert it is so worth it. The dumplings were very flavorful. The service was like a casual dance. It felt like a family business where everyone worked together. Our tables were cleared several times. The team thanked us and welcomed us back.

We went straight for their signature deep fried garlic chicken and decided to share the Peking duck--and both dishes were beautifully presented and packed with incredible flavor. The chicken, in particular, was crispy, aromatic, and absolutely delicious, though it's worth noting you'll want to be a bit careful as there are quite a few small bones throughout. The Peking duck was equally impressive, cooked perfectly with rich, satisfying taste in every bite. You can really tell the kitchen puts care into both quality and presentation. On top of the food, the staff were adorable and welcoming, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. The ambiance felt warm, lively, and comfortable--perfect for a relaxed meal in Chinatown. It treats non-relatives like family, making strangers feel younger and fostering closeness. The atmospheric decor contains very beautiful Chinese lanterns suspended from the ceiling throughout the restaurant. I believe it is decorated for Lunar New Year throughout the entire year. No comment for facility as I did not utilize. Customer service is average attentive and the staff is fluent in both English and Cantonese. I did not have to wait long to be served nor request the bill, and neither attain change. I often dine alone as a single woman and was regarded with respect for patronizing. It is always good to hear Cantonese spoken as it is mellifluous... at long last to continue this vernacular of Chinese language. I ordered in a mixture of both English and Cantonese. I was promptly seated by the maître d' promptly for a table. Melamine/plastic chopsticks in neon green and ceramic / porcelain china including ceramic Chinese soup spoon are distributed to customers while dine-in. A traditional teapot is also distributed during the duration of meal like large banquet hall Dim Sum restaurants. The large round tables contain a rotating lazy susan in traditional Chinese restaurant standard. Wow. No disposable wooden chopsticks and no disposable bowls for utensils are distributed at Uncle Lou. Price is slightly high, but worth the food quality and customer service. Uncle Lou did surely feed me! Shrimp Wonton noodle soup, Ho fun (flat rice noodles), shrimp based broth, $14.95 The bowl is gargantuan and the six (6) dumplings are good size portion served in ceramic / porcelain china. There are Chinese vegetable of one strand choi sam (choy sum) and scallions. The shrimp Wonton dumplings are a good size and good consistency. The soup broth is solid for flavor and consistency. It was served piping hot as steam was visibly emitting. The soup broth was slightly heavy. The flat rice noodles were sufficient for quantity. Noodle soup is Chinese comfort food and warms the heart. It sustained my hunger pangs throughout the day. Upon arrival the wait staff prominently announce to inform customers of 9% discount for cash payment and a 3% additional surcharge or fees for any credit/debit card payment for situational awareness. I was informant and made fully aware twice: upon entry when seated and upon receiving the bill. Uncle Lou complies with "Prohibition of Cashless Establishments, as of March 21, 2026, all retail and food establishments in New York State, including New York City, must accept in-person cash payments, banning fully cashless stores." Nota Bene: Have cash on hand to avoid annoying surcharge or fees. The bill is calculated and manually handwritten the old school way still a timeless classic. I paid my bill in cash including gratuity. No comment for Apple Pay or Google Wallet (formerly Android Pay/Google Pay) either acceptance or price differential vs. cash.

The kind of place where the tables are big and the food comes out steaming hot and unpretentious. Let's start with what they're named after: the congee. So many places thicken their porridge with cornstarch or fillers, but here it's the real deal. Silky from long simmered rice. My personal favorite is the teng-ji-jook. It's a beautifully fragrant, slightly earthy bowl of pure comfort. If you've never had it, trust me, it's worth the visit alone. But don't stop there. The beef chow fun is a classic for a reason. Wide rice noodles with wok hei, tender beef, and not oily (you can see from the bottom). It's the dish everyone enjoys and it never disappoints. For something saltier, the salted fish fried rice and the salt and pepper fried squid are highly recommended. I heard the Dungeness crab is pretty popular so it was fun to pick at it while each person has their own dipping sauce as we wait for the hot food. We also got the stir fry Chinese broccoli which had a nice crisp and wasn't overcooked. I appreciated that. The pan fried tofu worked for the vegans at the table but even the non vegans kept reaching for it. I was surprised to see pickled garlic in my sweet and sour pork. It was so nostalgic, the way my grandmother would have made it. The lamb chops were perfectly tender without being too gamey. On special occasions, we get the stir fry lobster. It's the kind of dish you'd expect at a Chinese wedding banquet. Celebratory, messy in the best way. You could build a whole feast here just from banquet classics. Pro tip: if you're rolling with a small party, book one of their private rooms with a karaoke setup. Eat, sing off key and pretend you're at a family wedding without the formalities.
