    Chicken in garlic sauce
    Anushka M.

We walked in as a party of 2 and were seated at the bar right away. We ordered the spicy wontons, chicken in garlic sauce and braised fish fillet with tofu. We also ordered a side of rice as none of the dishes come with it automatically. The spicy wontons came first and they were delicious! The broth it came with was perfectly spicy and so flavorful. Our two other dishes were good as well. The fish fillet with tofu was my favorite. It was similar to mapu tofu but had the fish fillets mixed in as well which I liked. The chicken in garlic sauce was good too but we felt the fish with tofu was much better. The portions are also pretty big so we were able to take our entrees back for future leftovers. Overall it was a good experience, just wish it wasn't an extra charge for white rice and we'd probably skip on the chicken and garlic sauce next time.

    Pork Dumplings in Chili Oil

My cousins and I had a craving for chili wontons and even though we should have made that trek down to Chinatown for some, we opted for a place that was within our vicinity. CHILI offered all of the dishes we were craving, from the garlic green beans, chili wontons, spicy mapo tofu.. only it didn't quite hit the spot for us. The green beans were lacking in flavor, the chili wontons.. to me was just soaked in Szechuan flavored oil.. I've had better at Din Tai Fung.. I'd say the Mapo Tofu would be my favorite dish out of the 3. The service was up to par and the ambience gave off a cozy vibe. Make that trip to Chinatown. ;)

When first walking in, I felt like I was transported to a movie set of Chinatown set in the early 2000's. The ambience feels a bit off and the minty green walls feel unbalanced especially with the bright rich colors of the food. I want to preface the rest of this review that I thought the food was excellent and would definitely come back for it, but the alcoholic drinks were some of the worst we've ever had. I almost threw up just from the taste. I'd warn not to drink the alcohol (which is a shame because alcohol typically goes so well with spicy food), but order the food with confidence. If you're looking for a good place to eat but don't want to drink and are looking to be in and out, then I'd recommend checking this place out with your friends.

Chili has pretty solid Chinese food that feels elevated. The interior feels classy and has relatively dim lighting. The service was pleasant and the food came out very quickly! For food, I tried the braised tofu with crab meat with rice, the sautéed Chinese broccoli, and beef with pickled chili. All of the food was great with the tofu and crab having a strong umami flavor and the beef having a nice kick of spice to it. My favorite was definitely the tofu with crab so I'd highly recommend trying it. The portion size was pretty large and I definitely had some leftovers after. I'll definitely come back to try more dishes!

Stopped in while in town for work and was glad that they were able to find me a drop in table. The atmosphere is throwback cool-- it reminded me of films depicting Shanghai in the '30s/'40s. Retro decor and dark lighting added to the dinner vibe. The menu is quite extensive and it took a few minutes to decide. I went with the chili oil vermicelli and 3 pepper chicken. The glass noodles were tasty and had a nice balance of ingredients while the chicken, while full of flavor, was so salty I could barely get past a few bites. And I'm talking salt lick level. The service was snappy and water refills were spot on. Overall, it didn't live up to the hype and my $40 dinner was average at best. So meh marks on value.

Jellyfish Salad Fried carp Three Pepper Chicken Sauteed Chinese Broccoli

Came with 3 other people, around a 1 hour wait on a Friday night. But they let you join the waitlist over the phone! Really appreciated that We ordered one appetizer, 3 proteins, and a veggie and we were STUFFED by the end of it The fried carp was really interesting, great flavor and unique The three pepper chicken was not my favorite, a bit too much green peppers for my liking. The chicken itself was a bit dry Jellyfish salad was okay as well, the chili sauce that it's in seemed to be generic The sautéed Chinese broccoli was also kind of plain, not much unique to it

The food is solid, and that's coming someone who has had a lot of legit Chinese spots in LA. I even wished this place was in LA, because I thought the beef roll was one of the best I've had with its flaky crust and flavorful beef inside. The beef tenderloin with the truffle oil was also melt-in-your-mouth good and neat presentation with the dry ice underneath the platter of beef. For more presentation fun, get the bubble dream drink where they shoot out a bubble on top of your drink and they know you're here for the gram so will take your time making sure you're ready before they do the presentation.

    Braised pork belly

Authentic and delicious Szechuan food (with dimsum options). The pork belly, Dan Dan noodles, string beans, and steamed bass were all amazing and flavorful. The fried carp was good, but to be honest not that spicy or mala as we expected based on the three chili symbols next to it on the menu. The eggplant with garlic was also good, but a little mushy. The tang yuan (rice wine soup) had a super fun twist and presentation with dry ice coming out the bottom (but I do prefer larger tang yuan with more black sesame paste inside). The ambiance is very nice. We had a reservation for 5:30, and it was pretty full by the time we left at around 7.

Da chicest Chinese spot! The space itself is cute and quaint. Service attentive and efficient. And the food was very flavorful and a wide variety of options that include vegan options.

Ambiance (5/5): Feels sleek and elevated in here. The aroma of the dishes permeated the room that made my tummy rumble with excitement!! Service (5/5): We were attended to from beginning to end. The food came out lightening fast, like within 10 minutes! Food: Pro tip - look at their online menu on their website because it has pictures of the dishes! Dan Dan noodles (4/5): Great taste but there was nothing to write home about. Soup Dumplings (4/5): The server advised us that the order would take at least 15min to cook as a heads up! The dish was very good. Well we accidentally ordered two dishes with similar flavor profiles (our fault). Both of which are very flavorful and spicy! Spicy Cumin Lamb (5/5): Very flavorful but be careful to those that can't handle spicy! Sautéed Beef with Pickled Chili (5/5): The beef was so tender! Definitely preferred this one over the lamb dish.

Go to get your spice cravings met Wowed by the heat Ambiance was very busy and a little corporate Menu was diverse, lots to choose from, can definitely get your meat cravings fulfilled here too - we got the dan dan noodles which was dinner and a show because they mix it for you

Order chili for lunch and got a lunch special of the 3 spice chicken. It also came with a choice of white or purple rice and a soup (hot and sour or bean soup). I got the purple rice and the bean soup (however the bean soup was weird, it was a pureed consistency with no flavor). However I really enjoyed the chicken and the purple rice. For a lunch it was a good portion and kept me full. I would absolutely order again.

Came here with two other friends for dinner and we pigged out. We started off with Scallion Pancake with Shredded Duck ($15), which tasted amazing. The pancake was flaky and not overly soaked in oil, while the duck meat enhanced the taste. I think everything should order this for the table. We also got the Dan Dan Noodles w Minced Pork ($8), which is a staple dish in Sichuan cuisine. Make sure you stir the bowl to mix the sauce and minced pork. For veggies, we got the Sautéed Green Beans With Eggplant ($18), which tasted great. I usually get sautéed pea shoots for a veggie dish, but this was worth ordering as the eggplant tasted great along with the green beans. For entrees, we got the Spicy Green Pepper Fish Filet ($28 for filet). A classic Cantonese dish that comes with bok choy, so it turns out I didn't really need to order a veggie dish. Delicious. We also tried the OOHU Mao Xue Wang ($34), which may be one of the most spiciest dish available on the menu. This dish combines blood curd from a duck, tripe, and chicken gizzards along with other organs into a simmered broth containing chilis and peppercorns. They also use spam, vermicelli noodles, mushroom, and other things. If you're adventurous and you like spicy, I would recommend this. Best eaten with a cup of rice. Service is great as our server made good recommends and was overall friendly. They also have a party room you can book, which sounded pretty affordable. Don't recall what their minimum spend was, but it was super reasonable compared to a lot of other spots in Chinatown and Flushing.

We ordered multiple dishes which came out one after the other. Some of the standouts for me were the Pork Intestine Dry Pot ($20.95), Crispy Tofu with Salty Egg Yolk ($23.95), and Sauteed String Beans ($16.95). Many spicy food options since this is a Szechuan spot afterall. Some dishes were a bit too salty and spicy, which they did discount after we brought it to their attention. Overall, decent spot and good for large groups. Otherwise, I didn't find this spot to be too memorable (not bad, not great).

The dim sum sampler was also a nice way to try a little of everything. For drinks, The Pavilion was light and refreshing, while the Diamond Dragon came in a diamond-shaped glass with dry ice, making it both fun to drink and great for photos. The restaurant was busy even on a weekday evening, with a big screen showing a soccer match that added to the atmosphere. Great food, great vibes, and a perfect stop after exploring Hudson Yards. I'd definitely come back.
