    Sauteed Chinese Broccoli
    Ted P.

Chili has pretty solid Chinese food that feels elevated. The interior feels classy and has relatively dim lighting. The service was pleasant and the food came out very quickly! For food, I tried the braised tofu with crab meat with rice, the sautéed Chinese broccoli, and beef with pickled chili. All of the food was great with the tofu and crab having a strong umami flavor and the beef having a nice kick of spice to it. My favorite was definitely the tofu with crab so I'd highly recommend trying it. The portion size was pretty large and I definitely had some leftovers after. I'll definitely come back to try more dishes!

Stopped in while in town for work and was glad that they were able to find me a drop in table. The atmosphere is throwback cool-- it reminded me of films depicting Shanghai in the '30s/'40s. Retro decor and dark lighting added to the dinner vibe. The menu is quite extensive and it took a few minutes to decide. I went with the chili oil vermicelli and 3 pepper chicken. The glass noodles were tasty and had a nice balance of ingredients while the chicken, while full of flavor, was so salty I could barely get past a few bites. And I'm talking salt lick level. The service was snappy and water refills were spot on. Overall, it didn't live up to the hype and my $40 dinner was average at best. So meh marks on value.

Came with 3 other people, around a 1 hour wait on a Friday night. But they let you join the waitlist over the phone! Really appreciated that We ordered one appetizer, 3 proteins, and a veggie and we were STUFFED by the end of it The fried carp was really interesting, great flavor and unique The three pepper chicken was not my favorite, a bit too much green peppers for my liking. The chicken itself was a bit dry Jellyfish salad was okay as well, the chili sauce that it's in seemed to be generic The sautéed Chinese broccoli was also kind of plain, not much unique to it

The food was incredible, the bartenders Johnny & Steve took great care of us and it was far beyond our expectations, highly recommend for authentic Szechuan cooking!

Authentic and delicious Szechuan food (with dimsum options). The pork belly, Dan Dan noodles, string beans, and steamed bass were all amazing and flavorful. The fried carp was good, but to be honest not that spicy or mala as we expected based on the three chili symbols next to it on the menu. The eggplant with garlic was also good, but a little mushy. The tang yuan (rice wine soup) had a super fun twist and presentation with dry ice coming out the bottom (but I do prefer larger tang yuan with more black sesame paste inside). The ambiance is very nice. We had a reservation for 5:30, and it was pretty full by the time we left at around 7.

Da chicest Chinese spot! The space itself is cute and quaint. Service attentive and efficient. And the food was very flavorful and a wide variety of options that include vegan options.

The food is solid, and that's coming someone who has had a lot of legit Chinese spots in LA. I even wished this place was in LA, because I thought the beef roll was one of the best I've had with its flaky crust and flavorful beef inside. The beef tenderloin with the truffle oil was also melt-in-your-mouth good and neat presentation with the dry ice underneath the platter of beef. For more presentation fun, get the bubble dream drink where they shoot out a bubble on top of your drink and they know you're here for the gram so will take your time making sure you're ready before they do the presentation.

Ambiance (5/5): Feels sleek and elevated in here. The aroma of the dishes permeated the room that made my tummy rumble with excitement!! Service (5/5): We were attended to from beginning to end. The food came out lightening fast, like within 10 minutes! Food: Pro tip - look at their online menu on their website because it has pictures of the dishes! Dan Dan noodles (4/5): Great taste but there was nothing to write home about. Soup Dumplings (4/5): The server advised us that the order would take at least 15min to cook as a heads up! The dish was very good. Well we accidentally ordered two dishes with similar flavor profiles (our fault). Both of which are very flavorful and spicy! Spicy Cumin Lamb (5/5): Very flavorful but be careful to those that can't handle spicy! Sautéed Beef with Pickled Chili (5/5): The beef was so tender! Definitely preferred this one over the lamb dish.

Wow what a great experience at this schezuan restaurant in midtown manhattan. Came here recently for a work dinner so was able to try a variety of dishes. We were sat at family style table and the ambiance was cozy and intimate. Service was quick and the food came out fast! Highlights were the soup dumplings, bokchoy and cucumber salad but everything was delicious! The spice level is high on the main dishes so make sure you ask if you have any restrictions (the mild still felt spicy for me ). Highly recommend!

So happy I found this spot online! Got lucky not having a reservation because this small spot was PACKED. Food was so fresh and delicious. I could eat the Dan Dan noodles all day everyday! They also had some spectacular meat selections but manly tried the smaller plates. Will love to try more next time!

Order chili for lunch and got a lunch special of the 3 spice chicken. It also came with a choice of white or purple rice and a soup (hot and sour or bean soup). I got the purple rice and the bean soup (however the bean soup was weird, it was a pureed consistency with no flavor). However I really enjoyed the chicken and the purple rice. For a lunch it was a good portion and kept me full. I would absolutely order again.

Really cute Szechuan spot minutes (and a world) away from Times Square. They do t aceto reservations for parties of fewer than 4 people, but we got here very early on a Thursday afternoon (5:15p) and the place was empty. However, by the time we left, there were barely any seats available. The service was professional and not super rushed. Food came in pretty quickly. Dan Dan noodles: good, although they could have put more sauce. Pork dumplings in chili oil: you have to get these. The chili oil is so good you'll clean the bowl (or use the left over on some sticky rice later, so don't send it back if you don't finish it!). Pork soup dumplings: yummy. Kung pao chicken: I've had this elsewhere and it's always been crunchy... like eating candies. Although it had flavor, this wasn't crunchy. Tea smoked duck with sticky rice (deboned): very sizable. The duck is attached to the sticky rice, and the whole thing is cut into stripes. The sticky rice was very crunchy but the duck is a bit dry. The dish was very flavorful, though. Overall, we had a very good meal. We would have loved to try another couple of dishes, such as the truffle beef tenderloin and the chungking spicy chicken, but we were stuffed. This is a place I'd surely return to try other options.

Came here with two other friends for dinner and we pigged out. We started off with Scallion Pancake with Shredded Duck ($15), which tasted amazing. The pancake was flaky and not overly soaked in oil, while the duck meat enhanced the taste. I think everything should order this for the table. We also got the Dan Dan Noodles w Minced Pork ($8), which is a staple dish in Sichuan cuisine. Make sure you stir the bowl to mix the sauce and minced pork. For veggies, we got the Sautéed Green Beans With Eggplant ($18), which tasted great. I usually get sautéed pea shoots for a veggie dish, but this was worth ordering as the eggplant tasted great along with the green beans. For entrees, we got the Spicy Green Pepper Fish Filet ($28 for filet). A classic Cantonese dish that comes with bok choy, so it turns out I didn't really need to order a veggie dish. Delicious. We also tried the OOHU Mao Xue Wang ($34), which may be one of the most spiciest dish available on the menu. This dish combines blood curd from a duck, tripe, and chicken gizzards along with other organs into a simmered broth containing chilis and peppercorns. They also use spam, vermicelli noodles, mushroom, and other things. If you're adventurous and you like spicy, I would recommend this. Best eaten with a cup of rice. Service is great as our server made good recommends and was overall friendly. They also have a party room you can book, which sounded pretty affordable. Don't recall what their minimum spend was, but it was super reasonable compared to a lot of other spots in Chinatown and Flushing.

We ordered multiple dishes which came out one after the other. Some of the standouts for me were the Pork Intestine Dry Pot ($20.95), Crispy Tofu with Salty Egg Yolk ($23.95), and Sauteed String Beans ($16.95). Many spicy food options since this is a Szechuan spot afterall. Some dishes were a bit too salty and spicy, which they did discount after we brought it to their attention. Overall, decent spot and good for large groups. Otherwise, I didn't find this spot to be too memorable (not bad, not great).

I was told that it isn't always open, but if it was, I could certainly have a table there. When we arrived on the night of our dinner, I asked about the back room and was told that it was closed. And indeed, there was a rope up separating it from the front dining room. There was a table of people sitting there, but I was told that was management having a meeting. I asked when the room might be opened because we were willing to wait. I was told that there was no way for them to know. The front room was already full, by the way, except for the table that we seated at. Within 10 minutes, the back room opened and people started to go in. When I asked about this, I was told that it was a private party. About a half hour later I got up to use the restroom and had a look in the back. They were people seated at tables all around the room. It was obvious that none of them knew each other. It wasn't a private party. I didn't bother to ask about this because at that point appetizers had arrived and it was too late to move to another table. I was very baffled by the staff's reluctance to seat us at a requested table, which would've been very easy to do. As a result, I don't think I'll be coming back to Chi or recommending it to friends. I wrote to them about the experience, hoping for a possible explanation. Over a week has gone by and I've gotten no response. I'm done with these folks.
