After talking at length with a sales person on the phone, my blind music partner and I were assured…read morethat the guitar and amplifier we inquired about was in stock. I did not mention that we travel with her Guide Dog (Ferguson) from Guide Dogs For The Blind in San Raphael. We arrived, having traveled an hour from El Cerrito, fully prepared to spend ~$4000, and see if they could order another $4000 worth of gear. While attempting to seat my Blind partner with her pup, a short, young, bespeckled man rushed over and said "No dogs allowed in here." I quickly informed of the "Guide Dog" status, to which he replied "Doesn't matter- you can't have a dog in here". I gently informed him of the law, via ADA, and he repeated, "Doesn't matter, you cant have him in here". At that point, the man behind the counter shouted, over a few customers' heads, that he had allergies and we need to get the dog out. I told him we'll be leaving, but that he should familiarize himself with possible exemptions of ADA rules. My feeling is, that if we had been treated more politely and professionally, we would have been happy to return later, when he was not present, to consummate a win-win deal with a different sales person. Seriously rude treatment from both staff members. This is not a misinterpretation of the exchange; these guys were crude. I am neither vindictive nor litigious by nature, nor is my Blind partner. But in this case, she is seriously considering action.

I just went to the School of Rock San Ramon concert in Danville. The kids were amazing. So proud of…read morethe talents they've been blessed with. We left when the CHILDREN started introducing the songs politically and the parents likely weren't in agreement (only one person in the packed out audience clapped). That ruined it. This was supposed to be a celebration of San Ramon's kid's achievements. Politics??? Really? Politics weren't what these parents were here for. More importantly politics are not appropriate when the kids are too young to have strong discernment between what their teachers are telling them to say and what they are seeking to understand and cultivate for themselves. Because they're kids and they're getting a cool opportunity to perform, they might even be too intimidated to refuse to say it ...which is straight up exploitation. School of Rock: please don't manipulate our kids that way, stay in your lane. Parents: be advised that you will not be your child's only moral influence when you send them to this music school. They don't just grow talent. They tell them what to believe and you might not agree.

If they can cancel last minute but you get charged if you have to cancel they need to change their policy. Great place but unfortunately we are looking for another lesson place.

I really wish I found Jeannette earlier because she has helped my daughter so much more in the short time (~6 mos.) they've worked together. The difference is, Jeannette is not just a teacher, she is a true coach who will help you navigate your instrument and find its true potential in a very safe and supportive environment. She is also super flexible which is a plus for busy kids, and parents alike. If you're looking to bring your singing, or your children's singing, to the next level, I could not recommend Jeannette more!

I can't recommend Jeanette enough as a voice teacher!…read more I came to her as an adult with years of vocal tension and chronic voice loss--something that had been holding me back for a long time and creating a considerable amount of stress in my life. Within a year of working with her, my voice has become so much stronger, healthier, and more reliable. Jeanette is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and kind. She has a real gift for explaining technique in a way that makes sense and sticks. I always leave our lessons feeling encouraged and more connected to my voice. Also-- I worked with Jeanette briefly when I was 12, and she was just as fantastic back then. She's amazing with young students and creates such a safe, supportive environment to grow in--whether you're just starting out or coming back to singing later in life like I did. If you're looking for a voice teacher who knows her stuff and genuinely cares about your progress, Jeanette is the one!
