I have moved 12 times in the past 15 years and have never had such a great experience with movers. They made it so easy. Fastest, kindest, hardest-workers and AFFORDABLE! We got multiple quotes and they were the most reasonable. So thankful that I was recommended to them from another customer. We moved from SD to LA over 2 days and unfortunately don't remember the SD packers names (possibly David & Carlos?? George?) but they were great. It's been a few years and what a difference it makes. I will no longer refer them. And I won't use them again unless these complaints are resolved After booking 3 guys, 2 show and they tell me a guy called in sick. They assure me 2 can handle it and then a 3rd appears after an hour (and during billing review, they say: "we knocked an hour off the 3rd guy" - really? you should because he wasn't there!) They mangled 3-4 plants and said "they shift a lot in the truck" really? SECURE them then, you're pros for fvck's sake and should have the supplies necessary especially since one important reason I hired pros were to move numerous large plants. The carpets had JUST been cleaned, I let them know, asked the to have foot protection and there were 3 LARGE dirt smudges in the carpet after. When I pointed i tout, 1 guy said "I can't see it, my eyes are not good" WTF. They hustled on the move out; but on the move in, I had to check on them several times as there seemed to be NO action, guys moving slow/nowhere to be seen etc They scratched an expensive bed. 2 prominent scratches and this, they will have to take action on. if they do anything to resolve this, I might change this review or I will update. Dino's moved us out of our 1,150 sf apartment last week. We have a ton of stuff - filming equipment, huge boxes full of puppets and puppet building supplies, enough kitchen stuff to outfit four normal people and enough books to fill a small library. Got a call when they left to give an eta and they were on time. We couldn't believe how fast they worked and honestly, they never slowed down the pace. They were kind, polite, funny and did an AMAZING job. We couldn't have been more pleased or impressed. Expensive? Yeah, but worth it. We had three guys. So I have to admit my perception of the moving industry as a whole was pretty damn low coming into this move, as our previous movers managed to achieve all of the following: 1) showing up a day late to pick up our stuff 2) underestimating their hours by more than half 3) breaking our new, 42-inch plasma tv 4) forging our signature next to "waive insurance" on the contract 5) twice appealing our small claim to replace the tv 6) going out of business before paying said claim So I guess this review is more of a statement on the previous movers than Dino's, but Dino's managed to do none of those while being very friendly and easy to work with. We just moved this weekend and this was our first time using a moving company. A friend of mine recommended them, and thank goodness she did. I called a few other places to get the low-down on costs and such, and one other place actually answered the phone, but they were such a hard sell (and didn't pay attention to the details during our conversation) that I decided not to bother with them. Dino's was very straight-forward, and they did not do the hard sell at all. In the end, they ended up being cheaper than the other places (that all said they were the cheapest), and the service was phenomenal. At precisely the agreed-upon time, two big buff guys showed up, one who looked like he might be a bass player in a rock band on the weekends (but for you rock-band-phobic folks, he was totally professional and polite), and the other like he might be a beach bum on the weekends (also very professional and polite). They worked fast, and considering that they had two flights of stairs to work with, I was VERY impressed. They treated my more delicate things with gentleness and care, and were very patient with me during the whole process, which I imagine could be hard to do when it's hot outside, and your lugging someone else's stuff up and down stairs all day. When they unloaded my stuff into the apartment, they didn't just drop it all in one spot, they took care to deliver the boxes and furniture to their appropriate rooms and they even helped me set up the bed again. These guys were magnificent and I HIGHLY recommend their services to anyone in this area needing moving assistance. In all, a 6.5 hr day (with a 45-min drive) came out to just under $591, including what I paid in extra insurance (which is optional--they have standard free insurance which is perfect for most needs) and the CA double-drive-time law. read more

Was looking for movers and saw the recommendations for Dino's on Yelp. Called them up and left a message about a month ago. Kevin called me back and scheduled the move for the day and time I wanted. Moving day comes. Two guys, Carlos and Logan, arrive a half hour early!! Who ever heard of movers coming early? A novel concept. Nice. They eyeball my stuff, find the way to get to the truck and begin. Great care was given to pad everything so there were no damages. Packing took about 2 hours and we were off to the new apartment. Unload took a bit longer due to the length of carry. 5.5 hours total. A few minor scratches, but on the whole I was very happy with the service, the price, and mostly to be done! They get 4 stars instead of 5, only because I really don't hand out perfect scores without experiencing multiple great efforts. But 4 stars is about as good as you can do with me for a single service. Highly recommend!! read more

There was a bit of a miscommunication with the head office - the guys did not know they were also supposed to pack up our stuff, so they showed up without the necessary supplies. Even though I had to run out and pick up more boxes, the guys did a fantastic job. I don't know who wrote these reviews but they cannot be done by real people. I moved about 18 pieces of furniture and stored it with them for about a week, too. To begin with, they double booked me and did not allow enough time to even unload my furniture. Then they bitched for about an hour about how they were doing me such a big favor by staying to do this, and yet still, I thanked them profusely, thinking they would do a good job now that they weren't rushing off to another job- wow was I wrong. I found knife cuts in my couch from when they took the plastic wrap (that's right, my custom velvet sofa costing 3600 from hd buttercup (less than a year old) had two hugs gashes in it from when they totally necessarily used a knife to take off the plastic from the couch. I found huge gashes from my wooden dining table being knocked against things- mostly along the legs, some as deep as 2.5 cms in. Again, a 2k custom piece. After reviewing everything not a single one of my items wasn't damaged out of about 30-40 things- even the cheaper shit was totally bashed in and clearly damaged (aka a wicker laundry basket was bent and pieces were falling off) . I tried calling them multiple times (they never ever pick up their phone, even to give them business!- they were the hardest company to set something up with!) - once they found out once it was about all the damages they totally ghosted me- stopped returning my calls, my emails, everything. I probably left them at least 5-10 vms and/or emails over the period of a month. If you're planning to ship or store anything even remotely valuable, or that you'd like to maintain the value of in the future, avoid this company at all costs. They don't value customer service, they don't try and do quality work, and they certainly don't value making things right when they so obviously screw up. Used them once to move a studio apt from Hollywood to the O.C. The two men were on time and friendly. They loaded everything onto their truck quickly, which was important because we had little furniture and a lot of drive time (and drive time costs 2x hour), so their quick pace loading and unloading saved money and was much appreciated. My wife and I used Dino's for a move from a 1-bedroom apartment to a three-bedroom home over the 4th of July weekend. They were fantastic! John, one of the co-owners, came to our apartment a few weeks before the move in order to give us an estimate, as our place was on the third floor with difficult street access. (I would recommend an in-home estimate.) We were able to negotiate a fair price for a three-man crew (well under $1000), with John estimating 3 1/2 hours at our apartment, and 2 hours at the destination. He was exactly right. The three-man crew of Tony, Chris, and Johnny worked very hard and moved each piece, including an elliptical and a heavy lemon tree, out of the apartment with ease. They didn't break or damage anything. They started moving at 8am and were done before 3pm, and that included a 20-mile drive and a separate 30-minute lunch. They made it as stress-free as it could possibly be. I would recommend them in a heartbeat, as they were hard-working, fast, friendly, and reasonably-priced. read more

As I started to read reviews for the different moving companies in my area, I noticed that Dino's received a good number of excellent reviews. So I decided to call them up. From my very first phone call with Kevin to arrange the move details, to the final moments of the move, I was treated with complete professionalism and timeliness. On the day of the move, the movers arrived at my old place exactly as they said they would. Additionally, the three guys were were all very friendly, courteous and hard-working. I must say that I was most concerned with how the movers would avoid making nicks on my newly painted walls. I was terrified to even watch how they would move in my armoire without scratching my walls - much to my surprise, not a single scratch was made! Needing to move, I had the brilliant idea of looking for movers on Yelp...boy am I happy that I did. After reading the reviews for Dino's I called, it was only two weeks in advance, but I was able to book the movers for the weekend I needed them. Just to be extra neurotic and after reading several horror stories, I had my ex-husband check them out on Angie's list. They were highly ranked there as well. On the morning of the move they did show up late....but...they at least called. All told they were 45 minutes late...not a big deal. Once they got to my place, they cleared it out in no time. Including the double drive time, the whole move only took the minimum three hours. I could not have been more pleased. Everything arrived in great shape, no problems at all. I found their quote to be in the middle of the pack of the movers I had come look at the place, and I went with them because I found it most realistically in line with what I thought the move would be. The team arrived at 830 a.m., on Saturday morning, which was awesome as I had the cleaners coming at 11. The move took about 5 hours, and they came in a half hour under budget. Dino's sent three movers to clear out our apartment and separate storage unit (about 15 miles away). They showed up on time, were efficient, and got the job done. The movers were easy to work with and good-natured, even when there were hiccups (caused by us, not them) in the process.
