Decided to go for a slice on the way back to the Astoria Broadway subway station, when I saw Dino's - a pizzeria dating back to the '50s with an updated bright interior. Their classic New York cheese slice was fairly priced at $2.75 and delicious! Dino's looks like a great place to go with a family! Wish I had a place like this in my neighborhood! I always order their chicken Marsala for delivery because they make it just like how this restaurant of my childhood makes it! Honestly, probably even better. The Marsala is a heavy dish, bursting with onions, shallots, mushroom, cream, and wine flavors. 1 order will be 2 meals for me, which makes it even better! Sometimes the chicken is over cooked and dry, but the sauce will carry the dish so I don't mind. I did order their bolognese once, and it was pretty disappointing. There wasn't enough meat and the sauce was very tomato forward and not shallots & meats forward. I wouldn't order it again, but will continue ordering their chicken Marsala with penne! read more

I was walking through Astoria with my friend and looking for something to eat. After deciding that we were in the mood for pasta , we found this spot. Now, I know it might just be a pizzeria, but I did have a bit of a higher expectation for the food. The man at the cashier was super friendly. We placed our order, and I think it took not even five minutes before our two pasta dishes arrived at the table. I ordered linguini with shrimp and sausage. It was served with a garlic sauce, and had small pieces of garlic. In the mix as well. It was not a very strong flavor at all. Meaning to say, I would've preferred it to have more of a punch. The pasta was incredibly simple. I was a bit bothered that the shrimp were obviously overcooked. that made them rubbery and less flavorful. My friend ordered a pasta with a red sauce, and when I tried that one, I would say that it at least had a good amount of seasoning in the sauce, which added more flavor to the pasta. It came with two meatballs, which I feel like it's a little skimpy for the amount of pasta that they serve. This is a restaurant on the corner of our street and seem to be like a local favorite as people we're coming in and out the whole time. The restaurant was clean, and lightly decorated. Dinos is a great spot located on Broadway and 30th street. It's my go to spot for regular slices when I'm around the area. I used to live a few doors down but since have moved to NJ and I'm still trying to find something similar. Crust is always cooked just right. They also have really good chicken tortellini soup. Place is always super clean especially now with COVID. They are strict about masks and where you stand. They also have a temperature station set up. I wish we could give half star ratings, because Dino's is really a 3.5-ish star spot. Passed by Dino's off and on the last few years and never really found anything to be extremely exceptional. Whether it's their slices, calzones or pasta. Proximity has been it's major perk for me. However, I will admit that although their pastas here aren't going to make anyone's mouth drool in ecstasy - they've always been hardy and satisfying (or at least the last time I had one which was maybe a year ago?) The renovations definitely added the much needed eye popping color. It used to look so drab. It's been local for the decade I've been here and I hope it's here to stay. read more

I order from this restaurant consistently. Safely say at least 10 orders in the past month. My kitchen is being fixed so I need utensils with my order. Each time I check the utensil box and never receive utensils. I called them last week and he apologized and said put it in each item box that you need utensils and I did and again no utensils. When I called back the person that picked up was like okay and proceeded to hang up on me while calling me crazy. Wow what a way to treat your customer. As everyone else says, Dino's is a solid choice for neighborhood pizza. I usually order delivery from here when I am feeling too lazy to cook. Their pepperoni rotolis with marinara dipping sauce are heavenly! They are the ultimate comfort food after a long day. They always arrive piping hot and ready to be dunked in warm marinara sauce. I usually order a chicken and pepperoni slice on the side as well which is always enjoyable. They load the slice with chunks of breaded chicken that usually end up tumbling off leaving mainly pepperoni. But my favorite part of the meal are always the hot and crunchy rotolis. Their deliveries are mostly fast or at least on time. Scheduling an order with them on seamless never seems to work because they always think you are ordering for delivery ASAP. So I recommend not placing an order until you are absolutely ready to receive it. Dino's will remain as one of my top choices for pizza delivery. read more

Dino's has been my go-to spot for a few years in Astoria. Lately I've noticed a drop in quality. Last time I was in at the height of the Covid resurgence in NYC, none of the employees preparing food or working the register were wearing masks. Additionally two delivery drivers were sitting waiting for their next delivery with no masks touching their faces and wiping their noses. The service was gruff and unfriendly. Dino's online menu said they offered gf pizza so I made a plan to try it on pi day. They were very clear that it is prepared in a shared kitchen which I appreciated though I advise to let them know to make sure it's prepared on a clean surface with clean tools to avoid cross contamination. They only just started to offer the gf crust. That being said, this is the closest I have ever come to having gf pizza that tasted like sliced pizza. Took a little while to prepare (30 min), but it was worth it. Unfortunately they are doing very little to advertise that they have gluten free pizza (its not on their printed menus and there is no signage in the restaurant). Would hate if it they stop selling it because 'it didn't sell'. Also I hope they change the layout of the menu because it looks like gluten free pizza with 1 topping is $10.95, but that only applies to regular pies. read more
