I would give zero stars if I could. This is my worst storage experience ever. I'm disabled for one. I have a lot of surgeries done and hadn't been out for a few months after initially getting my unit. My first time there after was April of last year. I noticed a ton of mouse droppings and a dead mouse right outside my unit. I complained about it and never got a resolution. There is also extremely high employee turnover and I believe since I initially got my unit in November 2018, there has been 5 different site managers. I also was late on one payment after a surgery. I paid it immediately when I realized it. My unit was never unlocked with redlock after I paid. We went to help my son get his things out when he moved a couple months later and unit was still redlocked. We had already paid to rent a trailer for his things. There was no site manager at the time and nobody available to unlock it. It took a week for a response and to get it unlocked. I did end up getting a credit for the second trailer rental after unit was unlocked. It was also redlocked in error another time. Unfortunately I had two more surgeries last year and when I next accessed my unit, the mouse problem was much worse. We even put out our own traps but got nothing. I complained yet again almost two months ago. I also pay for the insurance with my unit. I was first told to file a claim, then told I couldn't, then again told to file the claim. Which I did and the site manager took pics in my unit and uploaded to corporate. I've got nothing but the runaround and avoidance ever since from corporate. I'm having to throw away most of my belongings that were destroyed by the mice. Over the last two months, there's been many times I've been unable to safely access my unit due to no plowing of snow, dangerous ice, six inches of ice and snow in front of my unit door making it impossible to get things out, dangerous icicles hanging from the buildings, not to mention the disgusting mice and droppings on everything. I have made more calls than I can count. Given excuse after excuse. I've repeatedly told them I am disabled and I can't risk falling due to no maintenance. There was also no lights so even using my car headlights, it was not easy to see at night or safe. Still nothing was done. The owner of this company does not care about anything except making money no matter the cost to his tenants. The site manager did everything she could to help me including going out herself and breaking up the ice and snow in front of my unit so I could access and she bought boxes out of her own money so I could transfer salvageable items to new boxes. Yet she will get written up for this review because that's how this company operates. Plus I have to pay to rent a trailer and pay to take my destroyed items to the dump to dispose of. I have filed a civil rights complaint and claim, which is valid due to ADA violations. I have filed complaint with BBB, attorney general and have called the city inspector and department of health. I will take it as far as I can go and I hope they are heavily fined and I will be compensated for my losses. Their corporate office admitted there is a huge rodent problem and a maintenance problem. They have no maintenance for Iowa locations. Those calls were recorded so there is proof. If you want your things destroyed by mice, by all means get a unit here. If you want to have spotty access, have at it. I'm thoroughly disgusted by all of this, saddened by the loss of so many things and beyond angry at these people purposely avoiding me and my claim. The owner of this company is out of Omaha. He has rental properties as well. He has been in trouble with the city for the condition of rentals. Instead of using money to settle customer claims or maintain any of his properties, he made his own reality show for Netflix. Dave Paladino is his name. Everyone with the same issues I am having should file or make complaints to the same places I have. Maybe if enough of us stand up for ourselves, something will be done. He needs a serious reality check himself. read more

If I could give a negative rating I definitely would. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE! First, their units ARE nice, clean, and affordable. We have never had an issue with anyone breaking in or messing with our stuff so that is great. Unfortunately that is where the fun ends. My partner and I needed a place to store our belongings when we moved out of state to do a bus build. We knew we would be back at the end of April and we had a new place to store everything so we wanted to cancel within the 10 day limit so that we wouldn't have to pay for May. We have a large unit so it costs a decent amount of money. We called on April 8th to cancel in plenty of time. For some reason the call back went to spam and we never saw a voicemail (no one's fault). Unfortunately on that voicemail they said we were required to cancel online. When we called again we got the run around, someone had spoken with us (no one did) and they would look into it and call us back. They never did. When we FINALLY escalated it (hate escalating simple things) they told us we were past the 10 day notice and would be charged for May. Given it was a simple miscommunication and we did all we knew to do in order to cancel our unit you would think they would give a little to keep us as customers as we will need a storage unit again in the future. We definitely will not use their services ever again and we will tell our friends/family to look elsewhere if this is how they treat their customers. Extremely disappointed. And, yes, before anyone from the company tries to excuse it the information to cancel online is included in the lease agreement but with all the moving who knows where that paperwork is? Wouldn't it be easier to pick up the phone and communicate with us properly in a timely manner? read more

This place has gone downhill. I used this storage facility in 2014 and 2018 and it was great. I needed to use it for about 6 months starting in April. When I went back to get my stuff there were snakes in my unit and someone had broken into it. The security gate had not been working in three months half of the cameras were fake the other half were not working. I filed a police report filed a claim my claim was denied. This used to be a nice Christian facility. When I contacted both the southeast 14th and the corporate office they were rude when they did talk to me and at least 50% of the time I didn't get a phone call returned to me the facility is filthy do not rent from them. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. My families storage unit has been broken into 2 times this past month. This last time, it was "just our unit" that was broken into. Very suspicious. The manager has been absolutely horrible regarding filing police reports, communication, etc. In fact, we have not been properly notified that our unit had been broken into until HOURS later. The police are aware of the theft consistently happening at this location and are also extremely aware of the complete lack of customer service and shady behavior coming from the manager. I would never, ever rent a storage unit from this location again. Be warned: I don't know what exactly they're doing at this location, but I can tell you it is shady and their customer service is lacking beyond belief. read more

I experienced verbal assault and was threatened with physical assault from an employee at this facility on Southeast 14th by the name of Areonna. I brought this to the attention of people at headquarters I brought it to the attention of the manager Cynthia also Travis who never return my call at headquarters. Diamond who was quite rude on the phone and would not give me any personal information of anyone to speak to about this matter. The employee not only didn't have the truck that I had rented but told me I was never going to rent a truck from their establishment came out of the office into the parking lot threatening me with violence and calling me several names. I just had to call and talk to somebody which was also difficult since nobody wanted to get back to me about it. I was just told by Travis that they value their employees very much which is great considering you should except for when they are threatening to "beat down" a paying customer. I just asked Travis on our phone call if it's true that they don't value the customer... he said they try to value their employees and that this individual had been experiencing a lot of death in her life at that time. Well so have I. I don't get to go to work and call customers names and threaten them physically. Now I have to come back from North Carolina to Des Moines to move my things out of Dino storage because I don't feel as though I want to give this unethical business any of my money. This entire experience has been appalling. Certainly there's other climate controlled Storage establishments that won't back up their employee who is volatile and physically threatening. read more

I've been with these guys for 3 years and because of I don't know what reason other than my husband used my gate code and the only reason my husband had my code is because we were in the same unit at first. So now Dino's has terminated my lease and are being total jerks about letting me in to get my stuff even after changing my code. Also for some reason this year the place has been infested with mice and they won't do anything about it they expect you to take care of it and even if that means for the whole building. They continually raise the rent on the unit on top of they lie to you about things and don't even give you a reason for anything. They just tell you that corporate did it and then corporate tells you that your property manager is the one that did it. So I guess I'll never know why my lease was terminated. But I guess in the long run this is a good thing for me cause the place is to expensive for what you get so their going to be saving me a bunch of money. read more

We had (2) storage units at Dino's. Mice got in and ate expensive bedding, a mattress, etc. How they are getting in an enclosed, climate controlled facility is a wonder to me. I had insurance, bought through Dino's as well and that policy did NOT cover mice. Get with the program Dino's and hire monthly extermination services. I would NOT recommend storing anything there. read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE!!!! I called the management to inform them I would be moving my stuff out as I no longer needed the unit. The manager was pleasant told me she would cancel my account and welcome back. I specifically asked if I needed to sign andthing or provide a written notice. She told me no and since it was the first and I had been gone on military orders she would even refund that month. Time went on and not only was I not given a refund, they drafted another payment. I called them and was directed to their corporate office in Florida where I spoke with a woman named Jenna. She blamed me, informed me I should have sent in a written cancellation, that her employees not knowing that was needed was not her fault. After two days she FINALLY agreed to refund only may and fees associated with May. However a month later I have not received anything. I repeat DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!! read more
