Loved this place! Visiting family and my cousin-in-law suggested BLT or chicken and waffles. Baby!!! I ate all my food! The chicken was piping hot and was flavorful. True drummettes. Not chicken strips. The waffle was cooked to perfection; hot and crispy. I prefer mine cooked a little "harder" but I'm a convert now. The rest of the party enjoyed their meal too. Had food delivered waffles with fried chicken wings and a side of grits. The menu side 6 chicken wings not 6 pieces of chicken which were wing digs and they fried them so hard I couldn't eat them. It was a good breakfast. We got in quick during a time I thought we would have had to wait so that may have been a fluke that weekend morning. It is the old Egg & I and they changed it up a little bit on the inside but not much. Parking can be an issue but there is decent sized lot and if you don't mind a walk it extends down the store fronts. The menu is improved. More choices and variety. I'm still not drinking the Kale juice no matter how cute the chalkboard sign is! He had the bananas foster french toast which was good. A little bit more caramel like my pumpkin pecan waffle and it would have been just as good as the waffle. I actually ordered the pumpkin pecan pancakes and a waffle showed up. I took it as I was between which I wanted anyway. The waitress had the kitchen make the pancakes and I was able to take them home. Overall a good breakfast and a good price with nice selection. There were only about 5 - 7 tables seated and no one waiting. My companion ordered the breakfast meat sampler with hash browns and fruit and I ordered the country fried steak, scrambled eggs, country potatoes and we both ordered pancakes. The service was friendly but we waited quite some time before meeting our waitress, triple that time to receive our food and quadruple that time to receive our bill. The food was well seasoned but was served room temperature. We'd previously banned this place when it was Egg N Eye but decided to give it another try. I ended up getting a Chicken Caesar salad.. the lettuces was spoiled and the chicken was burned.. After reading several reviews I decided to give Stacks a try and was I pleasantly surprised. I was the only customer there when I arrived but that changed very quickly. I received a warm welcome from the hostess and was seated promptly and informed my waitress would be Ashley. Ashley promptly served me coffee and I love that they leave the pot at the table. While placing my order, I inquired about the spicy sausage mentioned in a previous review. I ordered sausage with eggs, hash browns, wheat toast with a side of salsa. Let me just say, Ms. Picky was very impressed! Everything was prepared perfect but what stood out the most, they warmed the salsa. Ashley took the time to chat and mention some of her favorite things on the menu. Now I have to go back for lunch to try the hamburger. What a great experience! read more

The soups are fresh and perfect with the weather getting cooler. The Mediterranean chicken wraps are amazing... Definitely worth having. This is a new hidden gem in Chicago Heights that definitely needs more attention! Their waffles and pancakes are on my list of things to try, but I am obsessed with their crab cake benedict. I can personally do without the tomato in this meal, but the size of the crab cakes will leave you stuffed for the rest of the day (not to mention the potatoes that come with it). I've had the veggie benedict when I first came here and I will admit that that dish wasn't that pleasing. I suppose it's vegetarian friendly (and I did actually have this meal when I was on my Keto diet), but I felt as though they could've cooked/seasoned the components a little differently especially since their potatoes are seasoned to perfection. We stopped here passing through on our way home from our anniversary trip. The food was good. Better than your standard IHOP but not over the top by any means. I had classic eggs Benedict, my spouse had a meat skillet. The service was sub par. While the wait staff were friendly and offered smiles, we had to ask for items more than once and our drinks sat empty the entire last half of our meal. My husband had the blueberry pancakes and I had the bananas foster french toast. The portions of both were large (I think I had four or five thick slices of french toast), and the meals included eggs and bacon. I have been coming here for over 2 years when I first moved to Chicago Heights when it was another restaurant, the name eludes me but when it changed to Stacks I was really excited because I love the red velvet French toast. But I must say for the past few months I've come in maybe 3 or 4 times with my wife, the service has been slow the turn over with the wait staff has been quite frequent. Excellent service and breakfast food. I had my simple but filling breakfast of 2 eggs over medium, crispy bacon, seasoned potatoes and wheat toast with strawberry jelly. My mom had delicious Belgium waffles which there was no evidence left on her plate to know what she ate. This will be my absolute last time visiting this business. When me and family arrived it was pretty crowded. It took a while for the server to come to our table. However when she finally came to the table we were ready to place our order. We placed our order only to find out about 30 min later that the kitchen never received our order. As they were packing up and cleaning for the end of the day. Keep in mind the server NEVER came to check or give updates. I went to who appeared to be the manager and ask about our order he seemed surprised that we had an order placed found our server and she looked very confused but offered no explanation. I have never been at an establishment and the kitchen closed down and we were literally sitting there. My issue is more with the staff and how it was handled. Things of course can happen. However, we decided our time was clearly wasted. And no one tried to make it right! What can you do offer a gift card on your next visit an apology or something. Instead we got NOTHING.
