DR, a nice little restaurant located in the quiet little town of Woodbine, on backroads of Cape May County. MDW, her sister, the Michigander, and yours truly ordered the the Gyro, and Gyro platters, one chicken, and two beef, were nicely presented with the the great salads on the platters, very tasty. With an antique store just a short walk away I have eaten at Dionysus several times recently. The food is fresh and good. Watch the menu as some things are priced better than others. The grilled cheese is $10, but the cheesesteak is only $12. Service is usually friendly, but sometimes takes a few minutes to be greeted or check out. read more

Cruising the back roads of Cape May County and found this little gem quite by accident. As a matter of fact I had no idea where we really where when we stopped for lunch. Small restaurant on the main street (I think main street) in this small rural town just West of Ocean City, NJ. On the small side, I think there are probably maybe 20 small tables if my math is right, giving it a very homey feeling. I was in the mood for an omelet (one of my guilty pleasures), so I ordered a ham and cheese with a little onion. And, of course once I saw the scrapple on the menu I just had to try a side order. Wife in the lunch mode so she ordered a corned beef special. She can not pass up lima bean soup so she ordered a small bowl. Out came the soup and we just had to ask if it was the small bowl because it looked like a very large bowl. It was the small bowl and it was delicious. Really took the edge off of her appetite so I got to eat some too. Omelette was perfectly done with side of potatoes and toasted rye. Eggs and scrapple must have just came from the stove because both were very hot and very good. Wife's sandwich large and very good. Both had enough leftovers for lunch the next day. Side of potatoes only small negative. Not seasoned and no peppers or onions in them, making them somewhat bland. Service was very good. read more

Change is hard to accept, I believe this place was great at some point and I think that is why the locals give it higher ratings than it deserves. This is my fourth (my in laws drug me here 3 times for breakfast prior which was subpar) and final attempt at trying to give this restaurant another chance at redemption, needless to say they have failed. As mentioned by other reviewers the wait staff was more than friendly but was completely clueless as to menu items, this can only be due to lack of training by upper management so I can't blame the wait staff. The entire place was more than dated and unkempt, I stepped on food as I sat myself. There is no clear sign as if you should seat yourself or wait to be seated (at least I didn't see one) The owners of this place should spend a few bucks with an obvious sign as to the suggestion. The menu seems to repeat itself and is well overpriced considering the quality of the food served. I would have liked to have taken pictures of the slop they served me and my wife but it wasn't worth the storage space on my device. I wish the best of luck to the owners of this establishment but I will never step foot in this place again. read more

I always give honest reviews that are detailed so here goes. I like the people who work there. The breakfast potatoes are the best out of any restaurant! They give large portions and you don't leave hungry. The fried beer batter fish is amazing! The downside is a huge one for me, the refills. The last time I went, last week I was charged 8.00 in ice tea! I called this morning to ask if there is one free refill and the answer is no! It's a shame because I honestly used to eat there everyday. I had four glasses of tea but for me it's really two because I like a ton of ice in it so really I drink two glasses. The waitress never told me and she just wracked up the bill. It used to be one refill which I expected to pay for two teas, instead 8.00!! I also tip very well 20 percent or more usually. That day I took the money out of the tip because I feel it should be marked on the menu or the waitress should tell you. Almost all restaurants in NJ have free refills. In the entire state only three don't offer free refills. I travel a lot! I don't give those restaurants business. Unfortunately my patronage at this restaurant has ceased because of this. I understand inflation and prices going up but if you're going to do this people should at least be told. read more

We had eaten here many years ago and it was good. Tried it again and had a great meal.Crab Cakes were large and I only ate 1 doggie bagged the other. Hubby had Chicken Parm huge portion, Lima Bean soup was good and salad was nice and fresh. Baclava for dessert was also a large portion and very good. Nothing to complain about here. I had high hopes for the Dionysus when I ate there in early November, 2011. I'm always looking for another Greek restaurant in the hope of finding a good moussaka. No such luck. This place is more a luncheonette for locals than a Greek restaurant. The only Greek item I saw on the menu was a Gyro. It was OK but the fries were stale. The waitress clearly favored the locals (lots of EMT's and Paramedics). She pretty much ignored us. The place is dirty and dated. I can not recommend the Dionysus. read more

We heard of this little restaurant from a friend of my wife. Upon arriving we were a bit anxious because there were very few people there. However throughout the evening more people came and they also had quite a few people coming in for take out. I had crab cakes that were fantastic. My wife ordered the gyro platter that came with A huge helping of meat. We shared a baklava for dessert which was fantastic!!!!! Bottom line the staff was very friendly, the food was great and it's a BYOB. The next time you are in the area don't pass up this little gem. We will definitely be back!!!!! Enjoy!!!!! read more

I took my ywo grandsons for diner. Our waitress was nice but not knowledgeable about the menu. My grandson and I ordered seafood platters. My flounder stuffed shrimp was burnex on the top. The stuffing was like a soggy bread pudding and the shrimp old and chewy. I didnt eat it. My grandsons flounder was old tasting too. He didn't eat it. Our bill was 63.00. I had to reming the waitress our meal was inedible. She took 10.00 of the bill when she should of taken at least 40.00. We will mever go back. There is no better of a Greek salad than what is served here. The dressing is amazing. The portions are giant, the prices are affordable and everything they make is delicious. Favorites besides the Greek dressing and salads include their pasta and seafood dishes and the chicken parmesan. They also serve the best grilled cheese with a side of Lima bean soup that can be found. Family owned and run, it's a diamond in the rough. We go for the delicious home cooked food with the Greek flare and have never been disappointed. They pack their giant portions up very nicely as well if you prefer take out. They even use take out containers that can be washed and reused at home in these times of environmental awareness which is important. Nice selection of tasty desserts too. read more

I have eaten here several times when visiting from California. The staff is wonderful. They are very careful to make sure there is no gluten in the food, and no gluten contamination, when I explain my needs to them. They are warm and friendly.
