We ordered 3 - 15" pizzas - Piggy, Sweet Chicken BBQ, and Max Veggie. Alpha Gal for meats so I only tried the veggie and chicken bbq, but they were both fantastic. Everyone commented on how great the pizza was so the whole family loved them. There was a lot of talk about not having pizza this good in a long time, yeah that good. We walked in and ordered them to go - the wait was about 20 minutes. For what we got I thought the price was super reasonable. First visit ever to DiOrio's. We stopped in for lunch to try their Louisville Pizza Week pizzas. They offered two different pizzas for $10 each. We ordered one of each, Stephanie's White Pizza and Aaron's Heat &Sweet. Both pizzas were delicious, we really enjoyed them. Stephanie's is meatless but extremely tasty none the less. As The Aaron's name implies, it is a little spicy but not really hot, just delicious. Service was excellent. I'm sure we will be back. read more

DiOrio's has two locations and the one in St Matthews is a divey restaurant tucked into the neighborhood. They also have seating outside under large tents. Walk in, seat yourself, order a beer! Service was friendly and we never needed anything we didn't already have, and I appreciated that because this spot is super busy. People inside, outside, picking up orders ... and is it SO loud. There were several times I had to ask my husband or son to repeat themselves. I guess on the flip side, if you're a rowdy bunch or have squealing kids, you'll blend right in. We got a 20" hand tossed pizza, one side with pepperoni and another with sausage. My pepperoni was fantastic, from the crust to sauce. The thin cheese pizza also looked delicious and our order of mozzarella sticks stood out too. The pizzas range from 10"-30" and the prices can feel excessive but when you realize how large the pizzas are it makes more sense. It's going to feed a lot of people! You can also purchase a single slice. I'm not sure I'd crave coming to this location, but I'd definitely crave a takeout! The location in the Highlands has a more relaxed, fun vibe. read more

DiOrio's pizza & Pub is a Lousiville based pizzeria and pub. This location is in the Saint Mathews portion of Lousiville Kentucky and is at least the second location I've visited with the one in the highlands being the other. I've used this location once and and the one in the highlands once. My experience in the highlands was top notch and five star. The decor and food was great. Unfortunately I did not experience the same at this Saint Mathews location. I ordered a pickup to go order here last week while down the street the hospital after welcoming. The birth of my 5th daughter. I placed an order for a medium cheese pizza and a mozzarella sticks app. The price for this was $28 which took me aback. On my highlands location visit I had all my kids and a lot of there friend with them and ordered the largest pizza I've seen in my life along with several apps and remember it being reasonably priced. Walking into this location it is a much smaller and neighborhood pizza pub then it's other locations. Which makes sense as highlands is more touristy and Saint Mathews is a community. The pickup area was just sitting out on a table with no heat lamp. The eta was to be done in 25 min and I was there in 20 and it was done so that was nice but I fear it may have been done a while as the pizza had very little heat coming off it or the box. The pizza on this trip was not as good as I had previously. As mentioned it wasn't as fresh as I'd liked (took me maybe 8 min to get back to hospital and into room). The best day for leftovers in oven heated the pizza and it was a tad better but still not like my forts experience where i would of rated it a top 10 tasting pizza in the city. The mozzarella sticks had good flavor and were fresher and warmer. My wife enjoyed them more then me. I'm not a huge garlic person and the crust of the stick was peppered pretty well with them. So more of a personal preference on that. Overall I'm hoping I just caught them on a bad day and maybe I should of had them break down the price (maybe it was a mistake) but I was in new dad mode and rushing to get there and back. Pizza isn't everything We love Dr Oreos pizza ..that is when it's made correct, this visit the pizza was great half meat half cordon bleu is our favorite. When ordering delivery 3 times out of 5 it's wrong or somethings missing. Or the dough is flat :-/ so we go in to pick up or eat in. I'm horrified to say eating in isn't the most pleasant of experience, as there is a lingering smell from the bathroom I can only surmise, that coupled with dirty tables and condiment tray and seating. We went to the highland heights location after visiting lights under Louisville. This place was great. We had a group of 18 (5 kids). They out several tables together so we had a large group plus 5. They were quick to take drink orders and then back to take food orders. Appetizers came out quickly and the food shortly after that. They even brought a wrong pizza out and gave it to us while we waited for the correct one to be made and brought out. The waitress did great with refilling drinks and checking on us. I'm impressed! This pizza place is a little underrated but should get more press! It's fantastic! I got the lunch deal with cheese pizza, Caesar, and tea (which they forgot, but I'll forgive that). The pizza is a large slice like The Post, but more expensive. Here's why: it's a thicker crust and possibly, slightly, more filling. And the lunch deal is nice! I think it was like $7-8? Not bad! My mom enjoyed her slice of cheese and my sister loved the pepperoni. The pepp is underneath all the cheese, so don't be fooled. That Caesar salad though? One of the best I've had in the city! Wow! I've been coming to Diorios for years and it has been always one of my favorite places to go and recommend. Today, I had an unexpected happening. I get the same thing every time Pepperoni Calzone and water. Sometimes a coke with their new weekday special. Today my meal cost $4 more than it did last week and started charging today for ranch. Even though I had never been charged in over 5 years. The GM Scott said that is just way it is. Had a bad experience overall. We get that it was busier and our quoted time was extended a few minutes, but our order got messed up/put in wrong/misplaced. We didn't receive the best greeting walking in, felt a bit looked over at first. The pizza was missing sauce, not the best taste, and felt a bit over cooked on the crust. It was hard to chew at some points. The same goes for the cheese bread. Our wings were messed up, we only got half out order and I am not sure if the sauces were the ones we ordered. I ordered pizza slices, cheese bread, modérela stick and wings. For the wings I ordered 20 half mild half fiery hot and the order came up only 10. The wings were labeled which sauce was what eithier. The wings were the best item. The cheese bread was great too and the sauce as well. For the pizza slices each looked different and it was lacking sauce and flavor. I wasn't impressed. The mozzarella sticks were very basic too but I'd say the ranked third on my list of menu items tried. Needless to say I won't be back. The host/waitress taking my order apologized multiple times for the errors and timeline which is why the review is rated higher than I normally would rate. read more

This neighborhood Pizza pub kinda hidden right off Lexington Rd on Wallace Ave across from Simply Thai which I've been to many times and did not take note of the pizza opportunity right there. If you are looking for a bright polished dinning area this isn't the place for you. But if you just want a good pizza it filled the bill I chose the gibbon a very meaty pie a 10 inch was 16 dollars a little pricey . They are noted for the 30 inch massive gibbon that weighs 15 pounds and cost 99 dollars but you can take the challenge of 4 friends eating it in 40 minutes it's free ! I'll pass on that but good pizza at a little pricey cost with good service and a lot of diversity on the menu. read more
