Let me just put it this way. The Apple Fritters are good enough that we drive 31 miles and 50 minutes from our home in Winter Garden just to get a real Apple Fritter. I was raised in SW Missouri where real fried Apple Fritters are a staple in every donut shop. Have been in Florida for 3 years now and it is next to impossible to find a real fried Apple Fritter. Donuts are SO good and so fresh and coffee was great too! We came on a Saturday at 11am and the selection was slimming down, as we expected, but the donuts were still amazing and so fresh and soft. Not to talk down on another business but we've gone to Donut King a few times and the donuts didn't really impress me. The sign outside says these are the best donuts in the known universe (okay, I am exaggerating what it says). They aren't the absolute best I have had locally, but they are pretty darn good, miles better than Dunkins. We stopped by in the early afternoon and they were low on variety, so perhaps if I get there sooner they will have more of my favorite types of donuts. The gentleman behind the counter had an accent that gave us a little trouble at times, but he was funny and friendly. Some people have had a little trouble with my Maine accent! All in all a pleasant visit that we will no doubt repeat someday when we are in Leesburg. read more

Great donut place in Leesburg with super cheap prices! The novelty with this one is that it has a neat little drive-thru window. Every time I visit, there's hardly any line (lately I've tended to use the drive through, but when I was young we would go inside, order at the counter and pick our donuts out from the glass case). Every donut I've had from Dip-A-Dee has been delicious, perfectly moist and glazed, and the prices are great! My favorites are the blueberry cake donut and the maple glazed donut. In the afternoon, they sometimes throw in a few donut holes on the house (since it's almost closing time). The blueberry cake donut is alway, moist, with balanced flavors and a good amount of glaze on top, while the maple glazed donut is overwhelmingly sugary and sweet just the way it should be. Pro tip: bring cash unless you have a large order; they charge you $0.25 extra if you use credit card on an order less than $5. read more

Dip-A-Dee Donuts in Leesburg appears to be a hidden gem of a high quality donut shop. I had driven past many times and saw the blue building near the junction split of highway 27 and 441 in Leesburg. I finally decided to stop and go through the Drive-Thru. Everything was good! Prices, variety, freshness, taste was all good. I now know why so many people drive miles out of their way. The owner is super friendly and genuinely thankful that you stopped at his donut shop. I know there are other donut shops in the area with good products, but give this small, family owned store a visit. The owner comes around refilling coffee but if he's busy, the customers get up and pitch in for him. It's a neat place to say the least. The donuts are light, fluffy inside and come in a variety of styles, solid, long johns, cake and traditional. Choose whichever 'stuffing' you want and it will be piped in until bursting. We have never had so much of the innards crammed full of jelly or custard! Yummity yum yum yum! However there is a downside and that is, Dip-a-dee sells out fast. By late morning supplies are seriously diminished and sometimes even completely depleted. So don't wait around. Get there, squeeze into a seat (if you're lucky enough to find a vacant one) and enjoy listening to the locals swap stories and tales. read more

I felt like I was stepping back into my childhood donut shop! When a place like this is packed with regulars that are over the age of 60, you KNOW the donuts are going to be excellent. That generation grew up with traditional donut shops, so they aren't going to settle for anything that isn't delicious. No modern take on donuts happening here. You won't find a savory section, or anything topped with crumbed cereal. But you will find awesome long johns, delicious cake donuts, and fabulous old fashioned. I cannot remember the last time I had a donut this tasty! If you're in the area, make it a point to stop in. If you're somewhat local, make the drive to Leesburg! You won't regret it. OMG....Donut euphoria. I seek out good donuts and found a must stop anytime I am in Leesburg! First you can smell goodness from the parking lot with the smell of dough coming. Upon entering you are warmly welcomed by the entire family that owns this donut shop. I was promptly served and paid $4.15 for a Bavarian creme filled, sprinkle donut and a point of white milk. The donuts are very light and fluffy and have a vey good flavor. This is one of my fave donut shops anywhere. read more

I happened to see this place on the corner the other day and stopped for doughnuts. Seriously the BEST doughnut holes I have had ever anywhere. So light and fluffy like air. My daughter had a glazed and I asked is it as light and fluffy as the doughnut holes and she said yes but bigger! This was our first visit and we will definitely return again and again. Absolutely love it here come here whenever I'm in town everything is made fresh, I usually come and get a ham egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant 2-3 donuts and a smoothie all that for about $10 and your gonna start your day right you'll be surprised how different the taste is compared to dunkin. After four months of searching for a proper donut since we moved to Florida, we have finally found it. This is a classic old-school donut shop familiar to Gen-X and older. Nothing fancy or whimsical, just a straight up donut, made on site every morning. While this place may not look like much from the outside, I was very impressed by the quality of the food and the EXCELLENT customer service. The Apple Fritters were the best I have ever had - the edges were crispy and the centers were tender. Yummy! The owners knew every regular by name and started their order the moment they walked in the door. Donuts can be custom made to order as you wait. The white cream filling is to die for! I do not believe I have ever had a better cream-filled donut. I will definitely go back next time I visit my mother in Leesburg. read more
