I came here on a referral because my friend's nails looked great, but unfortunately my experience was the opposite. The shape of my nails was really bad, and the sides were uneven where they were cut upward. I actually had to go home and fix them and reshape them myself. There was also product all over my cuticles and underneath, which looks super messy. For a first visit, especially as a referral, I expected much better. I paid $70 for the nails and still tipped her, but honestly it was a waste of my money. I rarely leave reviews, but this was so disappointing enough I had to share. The only positive was that my pedicure turned out great. I paid $145 total, complete joke. When it's a first time customer who drove from Lodi to Oakley from a referral you'd think you'd take ur time. They look gross. So disappointed. And it's the owner Lily who did my nails. I came here on Mother's Day for a manicure and pedicure--a thoughtful gift from my husband who provided his credit card so I could treat myself. Unfortunately, the experience left me feeling stressed and disappointed. Although I called in advance, I was told upon arrival that there wasn't enough time to do a full set. Later, when it was time to pay, the owner asked how I would be paying. I responded with "credit card," and she told me I should pay with Venmo, Zelle, or cash instead because credit card fees cost them money and she needs to pay her employees and buy them food. I felt uncomfortable and pressured, so I paid in cash. It made what should have been a relaxing experience feel awkward and guilt-ridden. During the pedicure, the water was too hot and when I reflexively pulled my foot away, no one checked in to see if I was okay. Later, during the hot stone massage, I was actually burned and left with a burning mark on my foot. Again, there was no immediate concern or check-in. Eventually, they applied cream and apologized, but that moment had already overshadowed the whole experience, especially since I had paid over $150. To top it off, I felt rushed because it was getting close to their closing time. For a Mother's Day treat, it turned into something I just wanted to end quickly. This review isn't written to complain maliciously but to bring awareness. I hope the salon takes extra precautions to prevent injuries and honors the payment options they list online without making customers feel bad for using them. I have never written a review before but felt like my experience needed to be shared. I had an appointment on Mothers Day with the owner, Lily. When I arrived she told me that she was going home "sick". She had someone else do my nails. People get sick so I understood. At my next appointment, she told me that another customer complained on Monter"s Day because she was burned. I remembered that day and said something about her going home sick. She laughed and said she wasn't sick but was hungover. A little annoying because my appointment started 20 minutes late. When I went there recently, she did not come out for my appointment because she was sleeping. My daughter has left a review explaining the details of this event. I have been to this nail shop a few times and really enjoyed my experience. After a break from getting my nails done, I came back and booked an appointment for many and pedi. Got there at 2:00pm sharp. I got welcomed with "pick a color" Okay, hi to you too. (Sarcasm). I didn't bother to pick a color because I knew what I color I wanted on my toes; just a basic white. I got told again to pick a color and all I wanted to do was sit down and relax until they were ready to see me. I told Lily (the owner I'm assuming) that I know what I want and I have a picture for my nails. Well, I got the silent treatment after that because she didn't acknowledge me. So I asked her, since she didn't say a word back. If I can show her the picture or I HAVE to pick from their color wall, she just answered with yea (?!?!) then she asks me if the picture is from THEIR WEBSITE. God, I was so turned off already and we haven't even started. I just wanted to leave at that point. Shortly after another lady asks me to sit to start my pedicure. No more interaction with Lily. We're in the middle of my pedicure and Lily asks if I choose the color for my nails, blah blah and I respond with "Oh, no it's okay, I'll just get my pedicure only". Man... you guys should've seen her face, starring at me for maybe 3-5 seconds. I was so uncomfortable and kept starring back and told her again... just my pedicure. Again, she didn't respond after that. A few moments later; she asked why I changed my mind and gave her an excuse about I had to pick up my baby. I had a secure sitter for my baby so this was my "me" time. Thanks Lily for making it very awkward and uncomfortable by the way. Mind you, my nail picture was something basic. I never get anything crazy on my nails. "A French tip" nail was the picture. I will never argue, cause a scene or put myself in an uncomfortable situation, especially in a public place. I will simply leave and never return again and you'll lose me as a client and whomever asks me for recommendations, I'll make sure not to mention this place. On the positive side and the reason for the two stars was because the lady doing my toes was nice and Kim? I hope that's her name. Does a an amazing job on my nails and she was nice as well. $130 later + tip. Will never come back. Lily, maybe treat your clients like you're actually happy to see them. Ask any man about going to a new barber or any woman going to a new nail shop and they'll tell you the same thing: it's unnerving. You hope and pray whoever posted all of the good pictures on their Yelp page is available that day, and you worry about the outcome if they're not. So, I was hesitant finding a new nail spot. What if all those pretty pictures failed me? But I got lucky. When I arrived for the first time at the (pristine, might I add) shop in Oakley, I was greeted by a host of kind faces willing to help me choose the best set for me. I ended up getting some extensions to even things out, a full dip set, and an aloe vera pedicure. I'd say that the pedicure is worth the extra coins for the sheer length of time, attention, and care your feet are given. It's a much more involved pedicure complete with all of the callous removal, massage, moisturizing, pampering and (of course) the aloe that you desire. There's plenty of other pedi options, though, I just chose aloe. They've even got a CBD pedicure that promises to soothe and relax, but I haven't had it just yet. I should add that this place ain't cheap. I shell out $130 for a dip set and a pedicure. One caveat is that I do go for the deluxe pedis, so a basic pedicure might be cheaper. But I truly consider every penny and pence worth it. It's an entire blissful experience at Dip Nail Spa and I always walk out feeling a billion times better and grateful that I don't have any misshapen, inconsistent nails (Puffin Nails, I'm looking at you). I've gone back and forth on writing this review but this now happened a week ago and I never heard from the owner. I have been coming here for about a year and a half. I had an appt at 12pm on Father's Day. My service didn't start until 12:20 (which is normal, unless I'm the first appt of the day I have never been seen on time, which is fine because I'm patient. At 12:20 I asked Lily the owner for gel colors and she asked if it was for my pedicure, I said it was for both I was going to do gel today because my nails need a dip break (they are super tender and weak). She was visibly upset by this answer and said she saves her time for her dip clients. I said I was sorry and didn't know (I've gotten gel before without an issue, and this is a shop of only two ladies right now). I said I would just soak them off instead and do a regular manicure and apologized. She was again visibly upset and went into the back room and never came back out. My mom had at 1pm appt and was also getting gel (I told Lily). The lady doing my pedicure wrapped my nails and we started my pedicure around 12:40. My mom then showed up for her 1pm appt. Lily never came out. Around 1:25 I asked the woman doing my pedicure if Lily was going to start on my mom (my moms appt was almost 30 minutes ago at this point and my pedicure had probably 20 minutes left and I still needed to unwrap my nails and do a manicure). The worker went to the back and came out and said "Lily is asleep I can't wake her up". I was like what?? Asleep? Is she okay? She kind of just laughed and said yeah she's asleep. So I said is she not doing my mom's nails? And the lady said no. So I said okay I'm done then I don't want to finish. If we finished my mom would have started her appt at 2:30 (reminder her appt started at 1) and to do a pedicure and manicure alone; the woman would probably take 90 minutes to two hours. Anyway, so we complete my unfinished pedicure I unwrapped my nails by myself (and didn't do a manicure obviously). I asked how much it was and she said $80. My jaw dropped lol. My pedicure was $65 (I didn't finish it at all, I had the polish but zero of the items included in the pedicure). Meaning my soak off was $15. I told the woman last time I soaked them off it was $5. And she said oh that's what Lily told me. I said I thought Lily was asleep? And she just nervously laughed. I paid the $80 and expected a text at least from Lily after being a local customer (I've stuck through the massive turnaround the shop has had, several bad experiences with new employees etc, and have always come back), and not even a text apologizing. Safe to say we will not come back (which another review stated before and Lily said she didn't care so I'm sure she doesn't care about this one). But I'm really bummed about this experience and felt I needed to share. read more

My nails stay beautiful with no chipping for up to a month, although I try to see her every 2-3 weeks. I've tried out a few different salons in the area since moving here a couple years ago. Most recently I came to dip nail salon to give them a shot (still dreaming of finding my new "go-to" salon). I had my nails done here for the first time a few days ago and although I thought they did a decent job on my nails, unfortunately I now have MULTIPLE infected fingernails :( If it was just one nail I would give them the benefit of the doubt, but at least 4 of my fingernails show signs of infection since coming here.
