I moved to Brentwood three years ago and I FINALLY found my salon! I got my nails done by Lili and they look exactly like the picture I showed her to replicate on my nails! Lili is so nice and amazing at her work. I'm really picky with my nails and she just got it down! I got in and got out within an hour! Lili never rushed on my nails, took her time and made sure it was exactly what I wanted. The salon itself is clean, spacious! It's not crazy cluttered like other salons. This was my first time getting dip and I'm in love! My nails feel so light and no burning sensation. All the products used at the salon are chemical free. I've tried out a few different salons in the area since moving here a couple years ago. Most recently I came to dip nail salon to give them a shot (still dreaming of finding my new "go-to" salon). I had my nails done here for the first time a few days ago and although I thought they did a decent job on my nails, unfortunately I now have MULTIPLE infected fingernails :( If it was just one nail I would give them the benefit of the doubt, but at least 4 of my fingernails show signs of infection since coming here. I would give a 0 star review if I could. I have been coming to Lily's shop for a long time prior to the pandemic and came back immediately when she reopened. Always loved my experience until now. I called on May 1st to make an appointment for 12:00pm on Mother's Day for my mom and sisters and I to all get pedicures and manicures. I show up on time on mother's day and Lily is denying I made this appointment. She's looking at her book and saying she would have wrote it down if I had called, like I was lying about my appointment. She's continuing to work on a client and just be very cold and unbothered, not even apologizing. I'm not even interested in arguing with her as she's just being dismissive. I just left after that. So my nails came out great. The low rating is due to the nickel and dime things they do. I had a dip done previously elsewhere and was charged $5 dollars extra for that . I was like ok whatever . Then realized there literally is NO extra work you have to do with dip due to my nails being done elsewhere so it kinda feels like a punishment and I am finding this is not a common practice. I was also told that the charge of a dip depends on how long your nails are so it can be from 60-80 on up .... Also If you don't pay cash it's an extra fee of $1 and if you pay cash you can get $10 off after 8 visits or so . Again , they did a good job ... but I personally do not like the unknowns of how much I may be charged and kinda being charged for things that really do not make sense . Lily as an owner I think it's obvious that you have a guilty conscience because you replied so quickly to a review, almost like your waiting on yelp knowing a bad review was coming in for todays visit !! You told on your self when you said you were in the back but you later replied saying their were 2 witnesses ? How would you know their were 2 witnesses when you were working on 1 of them when you stopped to ring me up and didn't ask me what I had done but wanted to charge me $90 after my tech told me $80? You were in the service area the whole time I was there but you didn't know what exactly I had done in order to charge me ? Obviously you're lying for an extra $10 for pretty basic services to keep an AC working in a big space with only 2 clients at a time business that only does powder and nail polish services. Basic services not upscale anything but pricing. Very slow business with not a lot of clientele. Take that extra $10 as charity to work on your public communication skills and mannerisms because you are really horrible as a business owner ! You have a lot to work on and nothing to offer. I'm sure you profile your clients as well and are sweet to whoever you think you can get over on. Time and time again your reviews are all coming up the same on your Attitude and Time, your not a people person and you only want to work when you want too and your business can not handle a fast paced clientele especially with basic skills. You obviously monitor Yelp for reviews that's a given sign that you know you did something wrong as an owner and especially how fast you reply to reviews and just reply off of any open remark. First I'd like to mention the amount of pride and care Lily has taken in building her business. She is so welcoming, ensures if someone has a request that she is sure to fulfill it and, though I've never been upset with my nails, I've seen her gladly repair or patch up anyone who has scuffed, cracked or broken a nail. In the world of Covid-19, they are keeping up on all of the protocols. From signage, temperature checks, plexiglass in place on all tables and pedi chairs, masks, available sanitizer and a huge space that allows for social distancing, have no fear of entering this nail salon. Even before the pandemic, it was spotless. And as I've said before... CONSISTENCY! I've had previous nail salons "slack" once you've been their customer for a few months. I love getting my nails done here! I found my place....I used to have to get my nails done twice a month but however Kim does my nails I only literally come once a month. I was blown away! The quality of the work there is worth my drive and making sure I'm prompt. Lily schedules for everyone. They are by appt only so be mindful of that and conscience of their time. They work really hard there and if you cancel that's not right. That time could have been filled. So abiding of their time is the respectful thing to do. So excited to have a place close by that specializes in dip powder! I have tried dip powder at multiple salons around the Antioch/Brentwood/Oakley area and this has to be my favorite spot. I only been here once, but they did not disappoint. I will say I did have to come back to get my nails fixed, BUT the owner was super understanding and re-did my nails and it came out amazing. I feel like it was the dip powder itself and not the application but for my second time, they did an amazing job. They have over 300 colors to choose from and tons of brands as well. Out of all salons in the area, I would have to say that this salon has the best selection of color choices. As for the space itself, I love how big and spacious the salon is. The pedicure chairs are all the way on the other side of the salon that you do get that personal space away from the manicure chairs. If you're looking for a spot to relax and get your nails done, highly recommend coming here. I also really liked how they had different snacks around the salon for you to munch on before, during, or after your appointment. They really do take care of their guests. As for pricing, they start at $40 on your natural nail and do go up depending what else you get, such as tips, designs, or the brand of the powder. I had a great first visit. Me and my sister had a walk in appointment Sunday morning at opening. The workers were accommodating and happy to serve us. I got an acrylic dip set with a pink base. They have many different colored dip powder to choose from. My nails are beautiful. I am so happy with my results. The man helped me but I unfortunately forgot to ask his name. He was very thorough and the shape is nice. I chose a coffin shaped nail. The shop also offers tea, water, or coffee to guests. They also gave a gift to us for visiting. I recently moved to the area and found this place because I love having dip on my nails. It lasts me 3 weeks and still looks good. I started going to Lily and I thought my nails looked pretty decent. After 3 times going, the dip was pretty thick and looked like it was just stacked on my nail. Furthermore, I had an emergency one day and called to cancel my apt 20 min before I was suppose to arrive. She was very rude on the phone and did not let me make any future appointments. She said "she makes these during the day and I called too late to cancel". After telling her multiple times my dog was having a severe allergic reaction and rushing her to the vet while on the phone, she started to interrupt me and say bye. So I hung up. Updating my review as my past few experiences have not been so great... My daughter and I have been coming for over a year near now. However, service has lately felt rushed and overpriced (perhaps inflation?). There is no pricing in place to revert to, so I highly recommend asking your cost if you do not get the exact same service each time. We came in today (6/18) for ONE pedicure and TWO fills; both done by Kim & Kim. I get the same exact pedicure each time. Today unfortunately, I was scratched repeatedly during my pedicure as Kim dug her nails into me while massaging :/ and she constantly asked me if my daughter (who usually does) wanted a pedicure... I continuously told her that she'd already gotten one elsewhere and only needed a fill. The constant ask seemed very money hungry and it becomes uncomfortable at some point... Now, my nails were done by Kim- I wanted a design and cut down. My design came out not so great and I just was not happy with the results overall. $220 later we were done... I have NEVER paid $220 for service here (even when my daughter gets a pedicure too) and I felt cheated- however, I am not one to argue cost, so I paid + tip and left.... (If) I was cheated, shame on Kim for doing so while Lily was on vacation. I think Lily's goal is to come back from vacation with even more clientele- not lose them while she's away. I asked her (the owner) to fix the nails that were thicker and she advised me that I "should have called before coming, I operate on appointments," you can't just pop up." Keep in mind, I left and came back no longer than 45 minutes. I will not be going back, customer service is no bueno. I moved to the area last year and tried 4 other places before finding Dip Nail Spa. I love my nails EVERY time. Lily and Kim both do amazing nails and Kim #2 does amazing pedicures. There's so many options of dip powder and gel to choose from and many options for pedicures, too. I went in today with a broken nail that was split in the middle and Lily fixed it with minimal pain. She keeps everything on a tight schedule which is REALLY nice because I know she respects my time. One of the things I appreciate about Dip Nails is an appointment is preferred. I can't complain about the quality of the product and finishes done at this salon. My dissatisfaction is with the owner's lack of etiquette with customer service. I wanted to love this place since it's a short distance from my home. Every single time that I was there, the owner had a complaint or negative comment. Once, I had an appointment with a friend, we thought we had been scheduled with the same technician as we had been times before. I arrived first and my friend went to pick up coffee for us. We figured I'd get started and then she could start on her nails when she arrived 5 minutes later. This is how our appointment had gone before. I was scolded by the owner and kept being asked for a status update...even after I explained that she was on her way. Another time, I made a manicure appointment for three of us friends. Upon arrival, we were questioned on why we arrived so early...hmmm because you scolded us last time for one of us arriving five minutes after the start time. One of the three girls scheduled was offered a pedicure by one of the nail techs and she took the offer. The owner came up and asked us who had booked the appointment. I replied that I had and she began to lecture me about how we can't be changing our mind on the service we request because she has staff dedicated to certain services, etc, etc, etc. My friend, whom had accepted the pedicure, was on the other end of the salon wondering what was going on. After continued complaining from the owner and back and forth foreign language talk between the tech doing my service and the owner, I got up and walked out. I will never give my hard earned cash to this place again. Customer and their experience are what makes a small business successful. This owner does not understand that it isn't all about strict rules. Customers don't need petty customer service, especially when we are spending $$$ on a luxury to feel pampered. To the owner, criticism or back and forth talk in your language about and in front of your customers is poor manners on your part. It is rude, plain and simple. They help you earn your living. I haven't been to a nail salon in a long time, so when my cousin asked me to accompany her a few weeks ago, I was excited! This was the first time I had the dip and I love it! So many color options and the process seemed less complicated than getting acrylic. Lily did my nails and I enjoyed my conversation with her. There were many calls coming in for appointments, which meant she had to pause working on my nails so she can note it down, but I didn't mind. I'm familiar with people trying to run their own business so I understand. I guess if you're in a rush or can't stand that, maybe schedule with a tech who don't have to do that. Took a chance and went on a day my usual nail tech was not there because I was in a pinch preparing for a wedding. So first I must pay homage to Christina who gets it right 100% of the time as I have followed her from shop to shop. This is the shop Christina works for now and I am impressed with it. At a time when many shops are rumored to be price gouging, the prices here are consistent with pre-covid prices. I felt comforted by the spaciousness which allowed plenty of space for social distancing. All the staff wore masks. The menu has a nice amount of variety and they offer dipped nails as well as the latest in nail trends. But the best part of my visit today was the foot massage that extended clear up to my knees! 5 well deserved stars. read more
