I could give a negative star rating if I could. My hot air furnace stopped working (Jan 2015) so needed to call an HVAC company. I decided to give a local company a try, boy what a mistake. I'm telling this story now because I was just reminded when I had to on my heat for the first time this year. I decided to call Dipietro Heating and made an appointment. On the day of the appointment a Dipietro truck shows up. So, I show him where my furnace was and demonstrated the symptoms of my non working furnace. He took the front cover off to further explore. Then another Dipietro truck shows up with two other workmen. Now I have all 3 of them in looking at my furnace. They diagnose that is was some gas valve is not delivering the gas to the furnace. They told me I had an older furnace (which is true 20 years), it was in excellent condition. They told me that they would try to locate the part and that there was no guarantee that they could find the part. They said they need to go back to their office and make some calls. I get a call the next day and they said they found the part! I ask how much, and they said installed $800. They said that they would be back later that week (Thursday). The service guy installs the valve surprise it does not work. The next thing I know, I'm on the service guy's cell phone talking to their sales guy coaxing me into buying a new furnace. (I did not believe the service guy used due diligence in diagnosing my furnace's problem.) They were so quick in trying to sell me a new furnace. I ask how much, I believe they range from $10,000 (nice round number) and up. Quite frankly, I was in sticker shock expecting to pay $800 to now $10,000. Oh yeah, they were quick in telling me about their great fiance program! I told the sales guy on the phone that I would need time to think about it. They knew they had my over a barrel because it was still quite cold out and I was desperate for a furnace. They also reminded me that my water pipes may burst if it wasn't warm enough. My coworker overheard my story as I told in disgust. She offered and told me her husband is a commercial HVAC technician and would ask if he could take a look at my furnace over the weekend. He agreed!!! He was over my place Sunday morning to look at my furnace. He brought in his tool bag and HVAC equipment. He took off a couple of panels of my furnace with screwdriver (more than Dipietro did). He diagnosed it was the igniting element which was fried. He showed me using a volt meter showing that there was no current being generated. So, we went online and googled the part, surprise there was the part for $249.99. I placed an order for the part and had it over-nighted. A couple of days later, he came back after work at night to install. He installed the part, i fired up my furnace, guess what HEAT!!!!!!! Caveat emptor!!!! It is sad to say that Dipietro chose greed $$$ (trying to sell me a new furnace) over doing the right thing in trying to repair my furnace. I will NEVER call Dipietro for anything. read more

I had an excellent service experience. My problem was a very tricky fault with a natural gas stand-by generator. [generator would start up and die soon thereafter, resulting in vague error code: "FC04 - engine will not start".] it was not clear whether the problem was gas-flow or electrical. I suspected the former b/c the problem developed after my gas company upgraded my residential meter. In an amazing coincidence it turned out to be a broken voltage regulator in the generator itself (capacitor leakage). Donny from DiPietro found and fixed the problem (part had to be ordered, came in 2 days). I was impressed with Donny's professionalism, knowledge, and bed-side manner (aka, customer management). Gonna sign these guys up to maintain all my HVAC stuff from now on. read more

Lousy follow-up and shady people. Classic phone reps who just don't have the authority to fix things and tell you a manager will call you back and they never do. Similar experience to other negative ratings on this thread. Sept 2015: AC coils were freezing up and shutting off the unit in a random pattern. My tenant met the technician and I paid the fee. Problem was not really dealt with. I called a few weeks later during a hot spell in Sept when the unit was used again. Was told they would consult the tech and call me back. "We want to make it right". Nobody ever called and season ended June 2016: Freeze-ups reoccurred as cooling season began. Went to online aggregator to find another service provider. DiPietro was one of the companies that called me. Nice sales presentation.. spent 5-10 minutes and found out who it was. Told them about previous dispatch and recurring issue. "We will look into this and get back to you". 10 days pass. I CALL THEM AGAIN, and re-explain. Best they can do is 10 days from now at $95 dispatch, but for $150, they could send someone out tomorrow. I say "but I paid $95 9 months ago and nothing was fixed and when I called last year to ask what the findings were from original dispatch, you "conveniently" forgot about me". Sorry, sir. We'd have to charge you the dispatch fee again. Would not refer me to a manager to explain why they didn't recommend anything last year. read more

AVOID THIS COMPANY!!! I was SCAMMED into purchasing a new heating / cooling system by way of Revise Energy in Bradford, MA which I later found out is a DIPIETRO company. The MassSave Assesment was done in September. I STILL have NOT received my rebates, I was sold 4 high-end thermostats I did NOT need and they installed 4 low-end thermostats I have not been reimbursed for! My list of compIaints with this company is far too long to include. I call every week for MONTHS and no response!! I am filing with the BBB TODAY!! Can I give more than 5 stars? Reached out to a handful of HVAC contractors to get a quote on replacing my 20 year old central air system. From the woman who I initially spoke with to the guy who came out to give me a quote (who happened to own the company) to the crew that came out to do the project, I got first class service. I scheduled the initial visit and Joe arrived 15 minutes early. He gave me a handful of quotes and was very clear on the differences between the systems. I settled on one of the lesser priced systems and never felt like he was trying to "up-sell" me. In fact the system I purchased qualified me for a rebate from my energy provider. I was able to schedule the install for 2 days later and again, the team showed up right on time. The guys were personable, respectful of my home, and very hard working. I have a brand new central air that seems to be working perfectly. It's significantly quieter than my old system. They cleaned up any mess that was made and gave me a complete walk through of my new system. I could not be happier. read more

DO NOT USE! I have never experienced such horrible customer service. We were suggested to use them when going through the Mass Save program for a new heating system. We decided to convert from oil to propane and the installation was a horrible experience in April 2018. They tried to bait and switch us by not installing the way we agreed and tried to make us incur additional costs beyond what we agreed and took a loan out for. They never came back to fix our lawn that they damaged during the installation process. Fast forward to today, less than a year with their system - i have called their emergency service line 5 times from 6PM on and never once received a call back. I have now called 5 times since they have been open starting at 7AM and still have no resolution. Our house is without heat, prior to a storm and the best they told us was to buy space heaters and wait for the part in the mail. I have not been able to speak with a supervisor, they have not sent anyone here to check the system, and will not return my calls. I am SO disappointed and truly hope future customers steer clear!!! Heating systems costs a small fortune, we should all expect better service of these systems once installed and have a reliable company to call upon after such an investment. This is the worst company I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I called on a Thursday night and spoke with their answering service. They told me some would call me in the morning and come out to fix my issue. The next day I waited until 11:30 and hadn't heard from anyone so I called them again. The person that answered the phone was extremely rude and said they didn't want openings for the day but I could pay them $150 to come out on overtime. I told her I wished I knew that last night and I would have called a different company. She said she would waive the extra overtime charge and send someone out after 4:30pm for $95 which I agreed to. No one ever called or showed up so I called Saturday morning and talked to the answering service again. They had a technician call me. The technician said he would be out Saturday around 4:30pm. Again no one called or showed up. I called one last time Monday morning and explained everything that happened and the woman in the office said they were all booked up and if I wanted someone to come today I had to pay $150. I can't imagine how they stay in business treating customers this way. Do yourself a favor and call a different company. read more

The worst! Unresponsive. Unprofessional. I have never had a worse experience with a "service" provider in my life!! Total disrespect for the consumer - and a complete disregard to the notion of satisfying a customer. Virtually no communication and no attempt to resolve issues or satisfy an unhappy customer. The only time I got a quick response from them was when their tech wrote the wrong CC number down and they wanted to make sure they got their dispatch fee. (A fee btw that they refused to return to me despite their lack of communication, empty promises and inability to provide the service in a timely manner). I asked for the owner to contact me on numerous occasions and nothing. They simply took my money and made no effort to resolve the issue. In the height of a recent heat wave, my AC ceased working. I was recovering with a broken foot, and was housebound (and suffering in the heat). I called my regular guy, and he couldn't get to me for a week. Another company I called said that the earliest they could get to me would be in three days. I called DiPietro, and the pleasant woman who manned the phones, said that she would get a service person to me that day. He showed up as promised, and got my AC working. I now have a new HVAC service provider! I take my hat off to them for responding in a way that will build their business, rather than lose customers. read more

Not happy with the service here. Office people were short and rude, didn't get calls ahead of service tech coming out like they said so I could've missed them had I not been home. Then they left us hanging all weekend with no follow up call and then showed up Monday morning with no call to make sure someone could be there. Then they told us we need a full replacement asap, I asked for them to come out and quote and still haven't heard from them. So if I'm in harms way due to a bad boiler, you would think they'd want the business and know it was important...nope, no call, no follow up, nothing. Not only will I never use them again but made sure to post here which I don't ever post bad reviews but this was warranted. read more

I finally asked for the heat pump to be removed and they told me I was being emotional. I've been on the phone with them nights and weekends with no heat on several occasions. Two nights ago I was home with my newborn infant and two young stepchildren. My husband was away on business and when I returned home from work the heat in the house was not working, it was about 50 degrees inside 20 outside. I checked the boiler and realized that the water level was down and tried to remedy it myself but to no avail. I called every technician I could find on Google in my area and no one could come out because I wasn't a "customer". How can I be on if you don't come when I call? I have a gas boiler not oil where I need an oil person. So finally one came and he couldn't fix it. I googled more folks and DiPietro came up. They responded quickly explained fees were polite and came out in about an hour. It was the middle of the night and so cold. The young technician did a review, found the problem, discussed fees with me, and then fixed the problem in less than 30 minutes. Heat started and the house warmed up by 4am. Amazing. I offered him a snack, coffee, anything for his help on his ride out but he smiled and just said have a nice day. The fees were reasonable despite the overtime rates. Love them and they are now my go to! I will still offer cookies next time too! read more

I called them to get a quote fro an oil-to-gas conversion, which as you can imagine isn't a small job. My home is appx 6,000 square feet, and I need a meter install, then lines run for the new stove, new dryer,, and soon to come water heater, in addition to the furnace replacement. The tech came on time, but I became wary when he didn't take any notes at all, and gave very little feedback. He mentioned this would be a very large job, and probably run more than $20,000. I told him I knew that, I've already had the gas company come out, and I've bought the stove and dryer. I needed the estimate and the form filled out for the gas company before they would schedule. He said he would send me a quote in a few days. A week later, I called to check on the quote. I was forwarded to a voicemail system by the receptionist, and left a message. Another week later, no return phone call, no quote. I called again, and was again forwarded to a voicemail system by the receptionist, and again left a message. Two more weeks have gone by, and I've heard nothing. I'm not so confident of a business model that that ignores job requests with a potential for long-term service contracts. read more

Called Dipietro to repair my Fujitsu mini split. The technician looked at the unit and said all the circuit cards are bad and needed to be replaced. The parts were to over night shipped from New Jersey, I live in New Hampshire. Almost two weeks later Dipietro plumbing and heating called to install the parts. The technician started to install the circuit cards and discovered when he opened the box the part from the factory was defective and needed to order another. At the end of week three the part arrived and my wife called to prompt them to install the circuit card. He installed the card and still no heat. The technician then told me that it could be the condenser and the fan motor so it is better to replace the whole unit. I went to work as he was putting things away an hour later my wife calls to tell the technician said it could be a circuit card that he did not install and that is in transit from Japan and he is not sure when it would arrive. When he was on the job the technician was on the phone with the Fujitsu technical support. The technician was not able to identify what the defective part was with technical support and after three visits over three weeks could not identify the problem or tell the time repairs could be completed. I would not recommend Dipietro plumbing and heating to anyone. read more

Wouldn't use them if they didn't come recommended by Mass Saves rep. Had new furnace put in through Mass Saves program (which is excellent). Guys drove across my neighbors lawn w/out asking permission. We were told we would have to have an inspector come out and make sure work was completed correctly. 1st call I got about scheduling anything was 2 weeks after work was completed-I set up appointment and the next day received a letter that was just thrown in my mailbox-not mailed that Dipietro has been trying to contact me to set up appointment but I was not responding. I had not received any calls besides the day before when I set up the appointment. I called the cell provided to let them know I was all set w/appointment and it was not the correct cell #. I then called the office because on the letter it stated they were open until 7pm. I got answering service who said she would relay the info and have someone call me back tomorrow to confirm I actually had an appointment. The 1st inspector(not affiliated w/Dipietro) showed up a few days later when scheduled. 2 days later someone called to set up the inspection that had just occurred! I let him know that we already had it-he had no idea and just hung up. Just last week had Dipietro call and say an electrician had to come out-I set that up. They said he would be here between 2:30-3. Luckily on the scheduled day I got home early because the inspector and Dipietro rep came 20 min early. Today I got a call saying now a plumber had to come out. I understand inspections have to happen but the way everything was handled was terrible. Terrible customer service-disorganized company who can't keep track of who has come out and if I've been seen already. I don't recommend anyone using this company! read more

DiPietro Heating and Cooling is not the full service heating and cooling firm they will purport to be. Expect a salesperson who knows more about the MassSave process than HVAC, particularly if you don't have new construction. Expect a quote that magically comes in at the amounts covered by MassSave rebates and loans, even if this means you get more or less of a system than you truly need. Expect an amateur crew rather than one staffed with journeyman trade professionals. Your system will be installed quickly, but while that's happening, expect the techs to badmouth their colleagues call the office for directions about how to complete the installation. All of these things happened on a gas boiler and a central air conditioning system in my house, not to mention the fact that the techs were rude and did not leave my house as clean as it was before they started. If you need service, unless you've already paid for it their service plan, count on delays, excuses, bounced calls and techs that are argumentative and rude, as again, they do not have electricians, plumbers or anyone other than installers and sales professionals. read more

I called Dipietro to repair my Air Conditioning system in my home. The technician misdiagnosed the problem as being a bad contactor. He did not have a replacement contactor on his truck at the time of the visit. He stated he would have to order one and return another day to install it. He stated the repair charge would be $357.14 to install the contactor, including parts and labor. I agreed to that and he required me to put down a deposit, which I did. A few days past and I did not hear from him. During that time I found out that the price of a new contactor online was about $10.00. So, I ordered one myself and had my son install it. It did not fix the problem! My AC was still not working! So, I called Dipietro and let them know this. They had the technician call me. The technician called and left a voicemail message explaining that the next step would be to check the system for leaks, and that it would be a very expensive process. I then called another company for help. They came out and determined that the system was low on refrigerant. They added refrigerant that got the system running great! We later added a leak sealant to the system as a precaution. The system has been running great! Dipietro claims to have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Yet, when I told them I was not satisfied, they refused to give me a full refund! Their technician is incompetent and I would not recommend them to anyone!!! read more

PLEASE read this and DON"T EVER use this company!!! I used them one time on November 7th for a no heat call. They charge a 95.00 trip charge, which I knew up front but the tech came and diagnosed and fixed the problem all within 15-20 mins. He called me and told me it was the small switch on the furnace door that was the problem and that he had it on hand and needed to just replace it. This is a 20-25.00 part and was a 10 minute job. I was then charged a total of 340.00. My tenant was home and told me he was there a total of 15-20 mins and then found out the tech then proceeded to stay parked out front in his truck for about an hour. It took 4 phone calls over a 4 week span to finally talk to their Operations manager Dan Carroll, who then said he would look into it and called me back about an hour later and we agreed I had no problem with the 95.00 trip charge but he then proceeded to tell me that he pays the tech 25.00 an hour and he needed to recoup two hours as he was taken off the grid for a couple of hours to fix my furnace, do you remember me saying he was at my house a total of maybe 20 minutes?! so with travel time to my house, that's maybe an hour of time, maybe.... and then said it's 20.00 for the part and asked what it brought it to, if it was about 160.00 left to refund and I said no it's 180.00. He then proceeded to ask me how I heard about them and I replied that I did an online search for natural gas service companies and then said that advertising is expensive and so they had to pay for that for me to find them online. I found their website!!! and so he proceeded to say he had to recoup 30.00 for that. And so he could refund me 150.00. He also told me that they were going to be just breaking even with my service call but that that was ok. I told him that's not true and he knows it. 95.00 for a trip charge more than takes care of the tech and his gas for the 45 mins for travel and time at my house plus he then charged me 50.00 for the tech to be there for 2 hours, which was never the case plus the 20.00 for the part and then charged me 30.00 for advertising??? I was so tired of calling and dealing with them and so just said fine, I'll take 150.00, it's better than nothing. Well that was last Friday the 8th. I was told the accounting girl who he was talking to while on the phone with me could and would credit me that day back to my card. It is now Tuesday the 12th and still no credit. I put a call in and will call again tomorrow. I worked for a heating oil company in the are for 15 years and have never heard of such BS and I also dealt with the CC's there and also at current job and had they put the credit through, it would be showing up already. Worst customer service I have personally ever experienced and total crooks. STAY AWAY!!! read more

2 issues. One was the cost was ridiculously high and the second is that the problem was never resolved. Dipietro's selling point is that they have fixed prices and don't charge by the hour. Sounded good to me. They charge $95 dollars for showing up at your door and if you choose to go with them they wave that fee. Well trust me it is still built in. I asked for a price on my leaking toilet and the receptionist said someone would get back to me that afternoon, next morning the plumber showed up and I said no one had called with an estimate and he said he is the only one who can give me the price and that it would vary according to the problem. Kind of a scam in my book. Most places can give you an estimate ahead of time as to what the price will be BEFORE they show up. Toilet still leaks even with the new part. Neighbor gave me a name of independent plumber they have used for years. I am looking forward to working with a good company. read more

Unfortunately, I have learned a hard lesson with Dipietro. They are not upfront about what your system REALLY needs, vs. what they want you to buy. They inflate their charges and give you promises of high efficiency, and when you find out later it's not the system your house needs or can even accommodate, you are S.O.L. I now have an extremely expensive piece of equipment in my yard that won't ever work up to it's potential. I suppose it can sit there and look shiny for the next 10-15 years until I find a legitimate HVAC company to revamp my heating and cooling system the correct way. I must admit, the install was fairly quick with very polite employees. However, when their deceptive business practices were questioned,they stopped communicating with me. I guess once they get their money, they don't care much about the customer. Regrettably, it cost us far too much to learn this lesson. Get multiple quotes-and don't think just because it's in writing they will honor it. I have a very nicely written quote that means absolutely nothing to this company. read more

After having completed an energy audit by Mass Save in year 2015, we contacted Dipietro Heating and Cooling for a preliminary estimate on what it would cost to complete an oil to gas conversion and add central air conditioning to our home. We never did go forward with the project at that time but knew that we would be doing it within the next year or so as our boiler was on borrowed time. This Spring we made the decision to move forward. We contacted several contractors, as well as Dipietro, for a second time, to price compare and do a little more research. This time we met with Adam. He came to the house, looked at the initial quote we were given (fellow was no longer employed there) took a tour of the house and answered all our questions. While we did not take advantage of the no interest loan through Mass Save, I still had plenty of questions with regard to a timeline and what we needed to do as homeowners. We would need to have existing asbestos removed (Adam had an excellent referral) and an existing gas line in the house inspected by NGRID to see if it could be used. Once we had the basement emptied and were all set on our end, I called the office, and Mike and Rudy were scheduled for the job. They showed up every day and on-time (some days a little early which is always o.k. in my book!) were really nice and explained what they were expecting to do each day - demolition, electrical, installation of AC unit, installation of hot water tank, duct work to main floor and attic space, installing vents, oil tank removal, etc. They connected a temporary electric hot water heater so we were never without hot water and we had air-conditioning as soon as it was possible. The installation was finished in 4 1/2 days and went very smoothly. We expected to be connected to the gas line the following day but are currently waiting on NGRID before that can be done. In the meantime, they are continuing to let us use the hot water heater until we are fully connected and up and running. Good company to work with- knowledgeable, reliable, accommodating and responsive - and one that I've already recommended to a family friend. read more
