Small shop with cute pink decor and unique treats .The caramel apples, dipped strawberries and drip cups are delicious. The whole shop smells like sugar and they are always rolling out different items and flavors. Great little place to stop to get your sugar fix. People working are always happy to answer questions and they will slice the caramel apples upon request for a small fee but totally worth it! Dipped by Dee - totally a "sweet" place to grab sweets! Growing up, I would always see the candied apples at the Farm Fair but never got them (cuz my parents never bought them for me :(). Fast forward to when I'm 28..my former wedding planner and fellow YE Angela A. drops off a Mickey cookie butter apple. I had my first candied apple in my life and oh my, it was amazing! Dipped by Dee is located in Aiea in the shopping center(?) diagonally from Aiea bowl. They're right across the parking lot from Queen St. Grill. When I walked in, the shop was pretty cute. I was so amazed by the number of apples they had available along with the items in the case. I wish I had more time to grab some IG pics! The girl at the cash register was super nice and friendly. She was super helpful and offered a sample they had available. Two apples were about $22-ish. Honestly it is pricey but wayyyy better than anything I can make. If I probably tried, ingredients itself would probably be an arm and leg. Taste: I love that it's sweet because of the coating while the apple is a little tart. It's a perfect balance. The apple is also crunchy while the caramel is obviously sticky. I don't like that the caramel gets stuck in my teeth, but duh Starla, that's caramel lol. It's yummy enough where I'm willing to get caramel stuck in my teeth! Overall, if I made big mula $$ I'd probably buy apples from Dee's any chance I got. TLDR: Save your money!!! Overpriced strawberries at $7.78 per strawberry. Chocolate covered strawberries from Safeway are 100% better. My fiance got me a box of chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine's day because I heard such great things about this place. The valentines box was so adorable, but my god did it taste horrible. The chocolate coating tasted like a combination of a dusty cabinet and freezer burn. The strawberries also taste like they're soaked in sugar water because they were so artificially sweet. And my fiance can't eat them because they put sprinkles, which he is allergic to, so I have to eat all of them. And yes, I say I have to eat them because a box of 9 strawberries cost $70!!!!! That is $7.78 PER STRAWBERRY!! You can buy a POUND OF STRAWBERRIES FOR $9!!! It tastes so bad, for that price??? Literally just make your own at home with your favorite chocolate or buy from Safeway. While I give them credit for their creativity and showmanship, my apple was not very good. The apple itself was fine, but the coating tasted like it had been there awhile. For $11, you'd think you would get a decent layer of caramel and chocolate around the apple. Nope, barely enough to cover the skin. The shortcake bites were very sweet, almost too sweetly coated around the fresh strawberry. I understand that it is a luxury gourmet item, but the prices here are very high for the small amount you get. Boyfriend surprised me with a cute strawberry arrangement for Valentines. It was super cute and the details were all there. However, the strawberries were kind of old and soft. The juice from them seeped through the chocolate layer. Not too sure if they were dipped when the chocolate was too hot or if they were just older strawberries. Kind of a bummer bc they didn't last as long as I had hoped as I know my boyfriend spent a lot on them. They're located across from Queen Street Cafe and Grill. I Was in the area having lunch and craved a dessert. Yelp never fails! Dipped by Dee was a few doors down. Super cute and clean inside so many options! I wished I could have tried everything! But my practical side decided on 1 dipped apple and a small cup of dipped strawberries! Both were delicious! I just so happened to be in the area and stumbled upon their store. I heard from a trusted friend that this business made amazing things! So of course, I went in. I mean... it's dipped fruits! The store has beautiful aesthetics. A cute photo opt in the corner with a swing and sign. The dipped apples are behind a floor to ceiling glass, refrigerated. The front display case holds the dipped strawberries and some kind of cheesecake-ish yummy-ness (more on that later). There were so many options! I chose the assortment of dipped strawberries and a strawberry shortcake dipped apple for my kids. For myself and my coworker- we got the strawberry cheesecake and banana pudding cheesecake. O-M-G-S-H. Those little containers hold AMAZING tasty goodness in them! Don't sleep on these. They're both topped with crushed graham? Or shortbread? Crumbles... idk but it was ʻono loa! Highly recommend! The staff was super attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. They serviced us expeditiously and we were on our way. I'm a huge fan of small businesses and specialty items. Have passed by the store at Pearlridge and it's very nice, clean, has awesome beautiful items but never purchased any since there wasn't an occasion to do so and we wouldn't splurge on sweets. But yesterday we were gifted a box of six dark chocolate covered strawberries! i should have raken a pic of an individual strawberry since i was admiring the fine craftsmanship of the delicately drizzled white chocolate but was too eager to pop it in my mouth. I do want to share more on how thin and delicate the drizzle was - most places would have thicker drizzle and less lines so i appreciated the beauty. The taste was awesome of course! Stopped in randomly to give this little place a try. They mostly had candy apples and dipped strawberries. I tried the churro caramel apple and then a banana pudding cup. They asked if I wanted the apple cut into slices which is awesome but failed to tell me it would cost an extra $1.25. While the apple was good, the coating of churro seemed stale. The caramel layer is super thin and hard. The banana pudding cup was delicious, there was cookie butter drizzled on top and inside the cup which worked well flavor wise. The prices are high so I wouldn't gravitate towards coming here often. Great place for an occasional visit though. There is no seating inside or outside. read more

Stare at it for days...gosh this was years ago and I wished I have a picture of it but it was for the holidays and a friend has gifted an apple, and a few strawberries and I felt like the luckiest bestie on the planet. Huge sweet treat lover but not too SWEEEET...this is just perfection! The secret magic Dee has come up with is simply amazing, takes me back to Disney Work and all their confectionaries. You think you had a caramel apple until you have one from here is life changing not only it's a work of art it is so yummy!! With a thin coat of caramel it's covered in chocolate and decorated in theme that will just make you giggle. Located on Sand Island area there are two dedicated stall you may use the curbside pickup option by just following the direction provided on the sign or inshore is currently open though is limited to one "group" at a time allowed but is difficult to see as the windows are tinted super dark, one crack of the door immediately "told" to wait outside so if you have no plans to purchase additional items I'd do the curbside to save yourself getting scolded. If you need to shop as they do have many grab and go items available viewed easily though a refrigerated glass window along with cute retail items there are dots outside where you can wait as their shop is really really tiny. Parking is a little hard to find, especially during lunch time and the spaces can be really tight so keep that in mind when you come, especially if you don't want to park in the area you have to pay. I let my husband go in and pick out some yummy treats for us. Imagine my surprise at how many things he got just for the two of us haha. The apples are all so cute though, it's hard to just choose one. We tried the dipped Oreo first, admittedly it was not my favorite. I'm not sure what about it I didn't like, but it just wasn't for me. The apples though, HOLY COW. That poison apple with THICK caramel and cookie butter is a candy apple lovers dream. It wasn't overly sweet and paired so well with the Granny Smith apple. Words can't even describe how good that apple tasted. It was fresh, easy to cut AND the caramel didn't get stuck in my teeth which is honestly the biggest win in my book. At first I thought the prices were a bit high but once I stood back and looked at the products, you really can't put a price on the supplies, time, energy, and cuteness of these apples. They ranged from $14-17 which really isn't bad considering they're one of a kind and they taste good. Military tip: on mondays they apparently have a military discount. You will have a choice of milk chocolate, white chocolate and cookie butter. Wish there was more pistachio cream but hits the spot for a sweet tooth. There's a Max capacity 3 parties inside. The ube (strawberry) berry bites have a subtle flavor from (maybe) ube powder?The shortcake berry bitez reminded me of the ice cream bars. Oreo berry bitez tasted exactly like what you would expect. Believe in my humble opinion, the caramel covered apples are much better than the strawberries. Green Granny Smith apples are used and were crunchy, tart & sweet. Didn't try everything, but wanted to share some pics before they were shared with friends & family. Only complaint is that the strawberries are not hulled, but not a deal breaker. Finally got down to this wonderful shop. They specialize in dipped stuff, like the store name implies. We entered the store and was greeted by Alexa. Told her that we heard of this place thought Yelp. She showed us there offerings. Wow she knew everything in detail. We bought a mini box of milk chocolate dipped strawberries, a dipped caramel apple and a strawberry cheese cake. The large stawberries were sweet and dipped in a quality milk chocolate. Chocolate dipped strawberries are all the craze! And the ones you'd get from Dipped by Dee are some of the best of the best O'ahu has to offer. I've seen the Instagram posts and I knew I had to try them so I tried for many days on end to be up at 8 AM local time (as that's when the site is stocked daily) to claim chocolate covered strawberries, apples, and even "didn't make the cut" items. But they kept selling out of the flavors I wanted to try! For awhile cotton candy, ube, and seasonal flavors sold out within minutes of being uploaded to their site. That's why I docked a star. It was very much a daily race to the site to claim some yummy goodies. I believe it took me a month of trying to finally get an order in. Ordered in the morning and picked up at 2 PM local time at their Sand Island location. I paid online through the site so that pickup was completely contactless, which is super helpful during these pandemic times. I will note that it's on the side of a busy roadway with limited stalls - I think 5 were marked for customer pickup. Also, be careful reversing out of there, like I said it's busy out of the industrial park and people speed. The strawberries I got were cotton candy & dark chocolate (limited time special), which was a little less than 20.00. I liked the cotton candy flavoring on the outside of the shell but unfortunately it was subtle and over taken by the white chocolate (which coated the strawberry). But my partner loved the dark chocolate! It was delicious. Strawberries big enough to get a few bites out of! The price is worth it because of the quality! Dee is strict on which strawberries or apples get dipped and even on the flavors. All my strawberries were thoroughly coated and the chocolate was smooth, if you know you know. Hope to be back soon as she does custom arrangements, which is perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, or holidays. I got the OG Assorted Minibox and the Strawberry Shortcake Dipped Apple at their pop up at the What the Truck event. While the strawberries look good, it didn't taste good. None of the flavors really stood out to me except for the fruity pebbles dipped strawberry, which I did enjoy. The coating on the strawberries broke off very easily which made it a bit messy to eat. And I felt that it just wasn't worth the price that I paid for them. The strawberry shortcake dipped apple was okay. I'm not sure what I was expecting but the flavor didn't stand out to me. In total, I paid $38. I also got a reusable bag that I thought was really cute. While I did not like the products, it does look nice. It is something that I would get for a special occasion. Some of the flavors I have tried : -shortcake -cookie butter -lemon drop -toffee -churro -brownie -cocoa pebbles My favorite is the manzana apple. A complete flavor bomb in your mouth! Sweet, salty, sour, spicy, chewy, and crunchy. It's the most intense caramel apple I have ever had. The distancing delivery they have in place really works. You pull up outside in one of the designatwd stalls, text them, and they deliver it to your car. So easy! We will be back for more apples! read more
