Dr. Parikh and Mayra are amazing. I emailed to see if they were accepting new patients and received a same day response that yes they were. Mayra was patient with me when it came to scheduling my appointment and gave me several options to choose from. She also followed up with me a few days before to make sure the time was still good for me. The office was very clean and I really enjoyed the online new patient system - easy to use and efficient. Mayra did a great job with my x-rays and was so genuine and kind. Dr. Parikh was able to spot right away on my x-rays some trouble spots and explained to me how to take care of them. She was so kind and gentle the entire time and she made sure to check how I was doing while she did my cleaning. This review is NOT for DDS Parikh. I am sure she is a great dentist. It is for the front desk lady. Last week, I scheduled an appointment for a teeth cleaning and general check-up, and when I showed up at my appointment, I was told that I did not have an appointment. After giving all my information on the phone while scheduling an appointment as a first time client (soc.sec#, date of birth, policy#, etc), not even being in the system was disappointing. However, people make mistakes, and a simple apology would be more than enough for me. What bothered me and caused me to write this negative comment was the front desk lady's attitude. "You are not scheduled for today... When did you make the appointment? What's your surname again?...No, you are not in the system. But, I can put you today at 4 pm." She never said "sorry" once, and I found this behavior quite unkind. read more

When you see a 5 star review for a DENTIST, you know they have got to be awesome. I started going to Dipty last year, after I moved from NY, and have since performed several procedures in the hope of attaining tooth heaven. I have always had pretty shabby teeth, so I was not surprised I needed tons of work after I moved to the Bay. I completed 2 extractions, a cleaning, a root canal, a crown and a few fillings. I have a couple other extractions to go, and I will start the process for Invisalign (not over-sharing or anything...) Every procedure I have ever had there has been smooth. They are punctual, straight to the point, skilled and fast. I rarely feel any pain whatsoever during the procedures, and as long as I follow the care advice they give me, any pain afterwards is minimal as well. Just to tell you how much going there is fun, I agreed to a procedure on my BIRTHDAY this year. Yup. Dipty is honest, nice, funny and patient. I love her team, they are warm and super helpful. I have no desire of ever trying a new dentist, given that I remain in the Bay for a while. I highly recommend them. read more

I DREAD going to the dentist, thanks to childhood memories of being given nitrous oxide and then having my teeth extracted by a cranky old orthodontist who didn't even like kids. Not cool. Fast forward about 25 years and I have FINALLY found a dentist that I feel like I can trust. During my last dental visit at another establishment, I was given a long list of procedures that the Dr. recommended. Thankfully I didn't have insurance at the time, so I didn't opt for any of them. As a result, since it had been almost a year since that visit, I was expecting the same bad news, if not worse. I was pleasantly surprised and relieved when Dr. Parikh only noted on my x-rays two areas that she would watch, and nothing needed to be done at this time. YES! Finally, a dentist who's not trying to rip me off! Dr. Parikh is my fourth dentist over the past 3 years, and she is BY FAR the best. Her office is cute and small. Very clean. She takes digital xrays too, which is also nice because you can see them yourself on the monitor while she points out any areas of interest. During my visit, it was just her and her assistant, and Dr. Parikh did my teeth cleaning and polishing herself. She was very gentle and meticulous; not like some other dentists who I feel like are stabbing my gums. I really like how her office is small and intimate. My previous experiences with dentists have been in larger practices, where the dentist goes from patient to patient, spending only a few minutes with each one. Also, Dr. Parikh has a very pleasant demeanor, and she is very communicative regarding what she is doing and what she observes. I would highly recommend Dr. Parikh to anyone! read more

Dr. Parikh is great! So nice and efficient. She kept asking if she was hurting me and the hygienist apologized for those painful plastic things that they use to take the x-rays. As if the fact that those slaps are far too big to fit in anyone's mouth without creating huge grooves in the roof of one's mouth was her personal fault! The last dentist I went to put a camera in my mouth, showed me dots on my teeth and told me I had 9 cavities. As someone who actually flosses in addition to brushing slightly obsessively I was appalled. Dr. Parikh showed me the dots he was talking about and explained that they were simply discolorations to be watched NOT cavities to be filled. She recommended filling two cavities but made me feel like the decision was really up to me. Additionally, she is going to check with my insurance and email me an estimate before I have them filled so that I can make a more informed decision. Overall, great experience. Dr. Parikh is an extraordinary dentist! She spends a significant amount of time with each patient and is a dentist that treats you like an individual. Both her dental work and care are excellent and her attention to detail is truly beyond compare. My last dentist would do work on my mouth that was not necessary, just to make money. Dr. Parikh would never do that. She is a dentist with the highest of ethics. She is also a rare dentist in that she offers various ongoing discounts and since I don't have insurance it really helps a lot. Her staff is also very courteous and knowledgeable. I haven't had any tooth problems in the past couple of years so I can't attest to how those are handled but during examinations Dr. Parikh is very gentle, caring, and friendly. Above all she's honest. I mention that because I after being ripped off by my last two dentists, at this point it's my top priority. She doesn't try to upsell you services you don't need which makes me feel that her patients are her top priority, not money. The office is very clean and the staff friendly and efficient. The only downside is there is no parking lot and the (parallel) parking around her office can get packed. However, there is a CVS just a block away if you get desperate. read more

I recently broke a molar. Dr Parikh's office was able to see me the next day to patch it up and two days later to fit me for a crown and put in a temp. The crown was ready 10 days later and fit perfectly on the first try. Overall the best experience I've ever had with a crown. Quick and painless with a really nice team. read more

I have been going to Dr. Dipty Parikh since 2010 when I first moved to San Carlos from the East Bay. She is, by far, the best dentist I've ever had. I've hated going to dentists due to a bad experience when I was a kid. But Dr. Parikh changed my view for the better. Why she's absolutely fantastic and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: -gentle and compassionate, will help ease your dental fears -answer all your questions about dental hygiene. I asked her if getting a Waterpik water flosser is a good idea for someone who hates to floss. Answer: "Not if you don't use it!" [good point!] She saved me some money on that and I now just use a Reach Access Flosser and floss regularly. -great front staff (she had some reception/front desk staffing problems before but that's been fixed). As of this review date (4/2017) I've dealt with Myra and she's been wonderful. -thorough cleaning done by dental hygienists -Dr. Parikh will still do a follow-up cleaning after her hygienist is done and will do a thorough inspection and point out any "trouble spots" -I've had to get a crown done for one of my molars and when the temporary crown broke & I called her office/answering service, she actually called me back and did an "emergency" repair for the temp crown. Now that's excellent patient care! -has *limited* Saturday appointments (you'd need to book this well in advance) My daughter (who is now 5) had her first dental check up with Dr. Parikh. To highlight how gentle Dr. Parikh was/is with her, her favourite thing to do now is "play Dr. Parikh" (instead of playing dentist). I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Parikh. If it's possible to give her 10 stars I would! She's gentle yet thorough, kind and will ease any fears of dentists you may have had in the past. Her office may be bare-bones and no frills but having a fancy dental office isn't an indicator of good, reliable & gentle dental care. read more

Dr. Parikh was great. Gentle, honest, and doesn't try to upgrade to a crown like the previous two dentists I've avoided. The front desk lady was a doll also. The only complaint that I have is that the block - 1 inch by 2 inch and 1/3 thick thing they put in my mouth was ultimately uncomfortable for my small mouth. I did warn the technician that I had a small mouth. She smiled, but ultimately blamed me for not biting on it softly or moving my head. Uhh, don't you hate that. Let me stick that into your mouth! She must have had a bad day. Since I am use to a doctor's office that has face guards for the patience so that the water, doesn't go all over my face, I ask that you please get some. I needed to find a dentist that took the Careington discount plan since I have no insurance. With this plan all procedures are significantly reduced in price. On a recommendation, I tried Dr. Parikh and have to say that I finally can go to a dentist without my usual anxiety. Dr. Parikh, is just a very nice person, very down to earth, and caring. Her office is clean, up to date and very friendly. So when you combine that with competent dentistry and a discount, what's not to like! I was a long-time patient of the dentist whose practice she bought. Just last month I got my teeth cleaned and x-rays. She did not look at the x-rays, took a quick look at a molar that need to be fixed and decided it needed a crown, WRONG!! I just got it fixed today and luckily it just needed the filing replaced and a composite veneer since the 2 fractures did not connect together. This is what the previous dentist had said and recommended. She also failed to notice a major infection next to that molar that required a deep cleaning and an injection of antibiotics which was done 1 week ago and already has improved significantly. I asked her for a refund for the dental exam after pointing out that she admitted not taking a very close look and she did not hesitate to the refund. She also would have seen a very obvious cavity that needed immediate attention had she looked at the x-rays. She did a HORRIBLE job and highly suggest you try anybody else. I found this demist because she took my son insurance, was fairly close to home and when I look on yelp she had good reviews. Since then she has treated both my son and me (his mother) I have found the office is well run, demist is good, kind and thoughtful. Very pleased. (A great improvement from when I took my son to Western Dental where I had to wait 2 hour for a SCHEDUALED appointment , was told my son needed braces when he did not, told he would need his wisdom teeth out and he did not as he had plenty of room.) read more

After leaving multiple messages because no one answers the phone in this office, I finally got a confirmation for a cleaning appointment. However, a day later the receptionist calls to tell me that they do not have me listed as a patient even though I went to this same office last year for a checkup, which they have a record of, and to have my insurance fax them a letter confirming my coverage. So I have my insurance do exactly as the dentist requested and I receive another call from the dentist saying that while I am covered she is not taking new patients. So even though I saw them last year, she was canceling my appointment. Given that I have a new baby and still went through the trouble of doing exactly as they asked, this run around has been extremely frustrating. She obviously does not care about customer service. In regards to my visit last year with one of the dentists in the office, it was subpar and I have definitely had better experiences elsewhere. If I could give them zero stars I would. read more
