They were out of one of the products I wanted over the holidays (all stores were sold out) but called me when it came in and set it aside a few days until I was convenient for me to pick it up. Stay far away from this company as a whole. I was so excited to purchase my first luxury candle so I headed down to the grove (they had a pop up shop). After smelling all the candles they had to offer as well as perfumes and lotions I chose my candle. I got to the cash wrap where the girl asked if I wanted another product to get a free mini candle. I told the sales girl I would take the scent PHILOSYKOS in a rollerball. She gave me the box and I paid for my products. I got home and photographed everything and opened the rollerball to try the fragrance. Once I rolled it on my skin I noticed I was super shiny. I checked the box and she gave me fragranced oil, not perfume. I decided to call this shop to see if I could just exchange it for another candle since it's about the same price. I was told on the phone they don't do exchanges on anything that's been opened. That's terrible customer service. When you are selling a luxury product, at least offer your customer a decent exchange policy! After that I wrote corporate expressing my situation and telling them how upset I was and I didn't get a single reply (it's been over a week). All of my friends and family knew how excited I was to purchase my first candle from here and I'm saddened to say that they vowed not to shop here. I was ready to purchase a candle for my mom for her birthday (June 1st) however a lady by the name of Jo Malone got my business instead. read more

When you've lived in LA for more than a month, the idea of going to Beverly Hills for any kind of regular errand is --- and I'm being kind --- fantastically unappealing. Parking, tourists, attitude, ugh. I can think of very few reasons to go if I don't HAVE to go. But this shop makes me go out of my way. Diptyque is the only candle I buy. It's expensive but there are candles out there that are far more pricey and they are not nearly as good. The cheap ones smell good in the store and then never again, you may as well burn a birthday candle. Diptyque candles are amazing. The sheer assortment can be overwhelming, but if you go to the Beverly Hills store there's one particular saleswoman who is ok kind of quirky but very welcoming and upbeat and fun and very very helpful. I know what I like (love Mouses, Gardenia, many others) and prefer earthy / grassy scents to overly floral. But the rose is amazing fyi. When I say I'm there to treat myself to something new, she helps me break them down into categories so we can rule some out right off the bat. Truth be told, I could walk out with 20 candles if my credit card would let me, and I could burn them night and day happily. I also have the room spray and parfum. But having been to other Diptyque shops, this is the best one. When I was on the east coast, the woman in the West Village shop was downright rude. I was prepared to drop some cash and walked out with nothing because of her. So this is a great product and this is the shop to go for it. read more

I'm so thrilled this location exists, because the Larchmont location has the worst customer service. It's a great place to get gifts for friends and family (and a note to the guys out there - a wonderful gift for your gf/wife!). Many people consider the candles to be a bit overpriced, but the fragrances are so unique and sensual it's worth every dime in my book. Tip: the candles make wonderful makeup brush holders when empty. read more

Stopped in briefly to pick up a perfume I'd been lusting over for quite some time, the new geranium scent (it smells so wonderful and I'm using it forever) and was helped out by the most kind and friendly person. It was so refreshing after being treated like dirt by the rest of the employees who work on Rodeo Drive. I wish I could remember her name! So sweet and helpful. I've been to the South Coast and Larchmont Diptyque locations but this one is my favorite! I hate shopping for fragrances when SAs are being annoyingly fake and pushy. You don't get that here as the workers are so nice and helpful without being overbearing. It's just a very chill environment. read more

I had to pick up a rather large order from the store, and she really went out of her way to help me collect the items and load everything into my car. The store is absolutely gorgeous and they have such a great range of beautifully designed and scented candles. I have been a huge fan of diptyque for many years now. I usually shop at their Larchmont location where I always receive top notch service from their friendly, knowledgeable staff. I recently decided to check out the Beverly Hills store since I work in the area and let me just tell you...NEVER AGAIN!!! From the moment I walked in a dreadful woman by the name of JODI started hounding me, using the worst sales tactics I've ever seen. As I mentioned, I am pretty well versed on diptyque products, and I enjoy dealing with salespeople who are equally knowledgeable. This Jodi woman knew absolutely NOTHING. Additionally, her whole attitude and demeanor was incredibly off-putting, and downright rude. I did attempt to engage in conversation with Jodi about some products, assuming that she would be able to offer some suggestions, or SOMETHING, but no, every time I would ask Jodi about a product ( price? fragrance notes? best products to blend?) her answer was always the same, "Oh, I don't know." Through the course of our uncomfortable conversation Jodi let me know that she was actually the BOUTIQUE MANAGER!!! I was completely shocked that diptyque would choose someone so completely incompetent to represent their brand, particularly in a managerial position...and in Beverly Hills no less! Diptyque has been a prestige brand for many years and if I'm going to spend $60 on a candle I expect quality service. Not special treatment, but at least the bare minimum of customer service and product knowledge. This Jodi person is an absolute nightmare. How she became manager is beyond me. Somebody in corporate must've owed someone a favor or something because there is absolutely NO WAY this horrible woman became a manager based on skill. She has none. Diptyque, if you're reading this, please take what I'm saying to heart and offer this Jodi woman some extensive training, starting with some customer service basics. She's a disgrace to an otherwise lovely and prestigious brand. I will NEVER shop in your Beverly Hills store again. I'll continue to shop at Larchmont where the staff is at least able to tell me the notes in your '34' eau de toilette! I would think that every diptyque employee, particularly a manager, would know this, considering it's your signature fragrance. Consumers reading this please take heed: Buy your diptyque from Larchmont or their counter at Barney's. If you must go to their Beverly Hills store STEER CLEAR OF THE "BOUTIQUE MANAGER." read more

I had a ton of last minute holiday shopping to do and I was very frazzled when I walked into Diptyque. I've burned these candles for a few years and always get compliments so I figured this was the place to head for presents. Everyone there was so helpful! I ended up getting scents that I had never tried before and all my friends were ecstatic! I didn't even have to wrap anything...they did it all for me! I got a candle that didn't light because there was something wrong with the wick. I came in to exchange the candle and I got pushback from the sales associate. She said they usually don't accept exchanges of candles that are opened. I explained that I just wanted a candle that burned. She tried to light the candle and it literally went out after one second. She then said that it was because the wick was frayed and asked if she could try to get it to light. After paying $90 for a candle, I didn't want someone digging in the wax to try to get it to light. I just wanted a new candle! I even had the receipt and I was just trying to get a product that worked. Any business would not give so much push back for trying to get a defective product replaced. She eventually exchanged the candle and was trying to tell me what to do if the wick was defective. Like somehow I did something to the other candle to make it not light. I had planned on buying more, but I will never go to this boutique again. For a luxury brand this is terrible customer service. I'll only being going to the Larchmont boutique from now on. read more

I love candles, but diptyque are among the best. I stumbled upon their boutique in Beverly Hills when I was visiting CA and not only found some great new and familiar candles, but also some genuine, sweet, friendly service. All of the women working there was so personable and so helpful and made me feel like I was visiting a good friend, a good friend with the best candle selection that is! ;-) This makes a HUGE difference when compared to some other stores where the salespeople act as if YOU are beneath them and/or not deserving of basic courtesy. The women I met were not only professional, but sweet and as a result, I wanted more candles too! Lol. This is part of the whole experience that better stores strive for and because of polished and professional employees like this, they can achieve. Anyways, I LOVE all the candles I bought and part of the reason I am looking forward to heading back to CA is just to stop in this boutique, say hello to the girls, and get some more wonderful candles. :-) read more
