Easy to navigate webiste and book my trip without any issues. It was weird that I became involved with Direct Line Cruises. I attempted to do a cruise through the ship website and had no luck after spending 30 minutes going from one to another and kept on hold for 15 minutes only to have my call disconnected. I then checked my e-mail and found a solicitation from DLC and opened it to begin searching. Lo and behold I had a cheaper price (by $330) with them and they were able to handle parts of the cruise including insurance ( I never go anywhere without it). I was able to do all of the booking on my own and only needed to do chat for shore cruises and shuttle from the airport. The party was very helpful, informed and fast. I've been using DLC for close to 30 years. Originally I booked RCCL and now usually sail on Celebrity. These agents are very well versed on the cruise industry. The best part is there's no high pressure selling and they take their time on the phone to answer all your questions, never the bums rush. If you prefer not dealing with humans their website is very easy to use. If you're a seasoned veteran it's great. If you're a novice cruiser it helps to call. They even have their own loyalty program. Just added $140 onboard credit to my latest booking. BTW Celebrity offers them perks you can't get anywhere else. We've used them multiple times. They're the only ones that I know of that can help you hold a cabin while you're thinking about it for multiple days. I have no idea how they're the only ones who can do it, while even Royal can hold for a MAX of 24 hrs. When I need to contact them, they're prompt. I've used Direct Line Cruises for all my cruises since 22, mostly taking my whole family (multiple cabins) and had planned another family cruise next Thanksgiving through them, all on Royal Caribbean, but after my experience this week, no more. Direct Line Cruises and Royal Caribbean were able to convince me to book other cruise lines and use a different travel agent. My experience this week with both Direct Line Cruises and Royal Caribbean was awful. I booked a cruise through Direct Line Cruises, using a next cruise certificate. I've done this in the past with no issue. Since this was a short cruise, I would get a $50 OBC through the next cruise certificate. When I contacted direct line cruise to apply the next cruise certificate, first, I left two messages per the line which provides for a call back. Neither time did I receive a call back. When I finally spoke to them, they said I had to pay an extra $100 to use the next cruise certificate. So I would thus pay $100 to get $50. Um yeah. Apparently they pictured me as the village idiot. Sorry, I'm not paying $100 extra to get $50. This makes the next cruise certificate pointless and worthless. Moreover, the bigger issue was the attitude of the agent on the phone. I was not sure I was actually talking to a human. I thought this had to be a form of AI. I even asked to talk to a supervisor but she ignored me. I was already turned off by RCCL's nutty way of handling AARP gift cards where they make it a torturous process but the next cruise issue was the breaking point. So what came out of this? A family that was loyal to Royal is loyal no more and direct live cruise can pound sand. Apparently they're not aware that the world of cruise travel agents is actually competitive and they are not the only game in town. The whole experience was beyond absurd. read more
