This company plays fast & loose with its clients. They offer "gift" packages that expire. Their CS phone people are heinous little monsters who should not be on the phone. Just talked to a kid named "Jay" who audibly sighed when I would point out discrepancies between the emails, the texts and the verbage in their "gift offers". He also would say HE needed to disconnect so he could accomplish something and he'd call back, but then ask why I had not hung up. Now, their text said six months but they send it with 2 months gone. Email had no such dating. They state that you have to cancel your existing account to apply theirs but it's really so THEY can get the charges instead of the other companies once their "gift" expires. It's a complete sham. I have been a customer for over 25 years. I converted to their streaming service and returned the satellite equipment. I received a bill for $45 for un-returned equipment so I called and gave them the receipt reference confirming all equipment was returned. They told me they would escalate the matter and there should be no issue waiving the fee as they could see the equipment had been returned. I then received a collection notice for the outstanding balance plus fees. I have called 6 times over the past 4 months and spent a minimum of 45 minutes on the phone each time and each time receiving confirmation that the matter would be resolved. Today I spent an hour on the phone with someone named Elle (They won't give you their last name as they don't want you to be able to follow up) Elle offered to waive the fee. I told her that should have been done from the start and she needed to contact the collection company and instruct them to close the file and remove it from my record. Magically, I was disconnected. I called back and reached a superviser named Gray (What a jerk!!!) I told him what happened and asked that he review the file. He said it had been referred to collection and I would need to take it up with them. Once again...disconnected. All I can say is WOW!!!! read more

I was scammed by one of their own employees, where my service was canceled and signed back and cost went up. Their own Sercurity department contacted me and confirmed it. But they couldn't undo it without it costing me more money. Recently, I sold my house, canceled my service and returned their equipment. They proceeded to continue to charge me for service. I requested service through a Direct TV sales department, I was quoted my monthly cost for service (Choice plus other free premium ) which was a total cost of $74.98 with equipment excluding my area tax. When the service was installed it was a total lie, I am being over charged ($105.00) and they have refused to correct any false pricing. This Bate and Switch is illegal and I am not happy and I must seek an alternative due to there misrepresentation of there services and products. I was told that their satellite was the size of a pizza box when in fact is is the size of a F150 truck wheel this is really outrageous. I want out of this contract. No customer service complaint department! you speak to a representative who basically can't give you a resolution of any kind, except transfer you to another department where you get disconnected, wait for a long time only to get a busy signal, or promised a return call, but never get. 4 calls on various months to the company was a waste of my 8 hours. Each call was an average of 2 hours from start to frustration. When you finally get the "answer", you have no recourse whatsoever and get told you should have called earlier, which I did but got no response. If you can find a more personable and reasonable cable TV provider, do so. They do have great deals if you were a new customer. But for existing and/or long time customers, you may as well just hand them the money and don't get the service you thought you wanted. I lost 8 hours of my life that I will never get back. The problem is that they confirm information the minute you're on the phone to ensure that you are the customer of record i.e. phone number account number address for the services, however, when it comes down to receiving a refund, if you have a space number or a unit number, all of a sudden it's not there. The concern I have though is in order to get a box delivered to your property location the technician who comes to install it has your space number or unit number so how can all of a sudden the space number or unit number be not on your billing address. read more

Direct TV must be the worst company in the world to deal with. This is the 3rd time my direct tv box needs to be replaced. Why does their stuff keep breaking?? We had an appointment for 12-4 PM o Saturday for them to come, show up, and replace 2 boxes. Time came and went , and they never showed up. No call, no show. We wasted our Saturday waiting. We called them to find out what happened. They claim that they called, but could not leave a message on our phone. That's a lie. Nobody called,and IF they had they certainly would have been able to leave a message if for some reason we hadn't answered. Shame on you for lying AND for just not showing up. The person we talked to was arrogant and rude!! Apparently their call center is outside of the country. They are difficult to understand and they can't understand us to well either. We called back again.. This time they claim we didn't have an appointment..and that after initially spending over an hour on the phone with them to troubleshoot and consequently schedule the appointment?? Then they claim they couldn't verify our account and locked our account.. and we hung up. We have an app now for today 8 am- 12 noon. It's now 12:30 and they are still not here. I'm beginning not to trust Direct TV. I wanted to get Showtime to watch Dexter so I called Direct TV. They offered me a promotion for $4.99 which was for Movie Extra Pk and along with that I would receive HBO and Showtime for free for 3 months. My first bill I had an extra $20 charged on it. I was told it was partial payment for HBO/SHOWTIME. I was supposed to get that free. They removed the charge but if I didn't see it they would have gotten away with it. Shame on you Direct TV. I am outraged that I was charged $99 for a service call because I had a bent coaxle cable near my chimney. They tried to sell me monthly insurance when I just wanted to report the problem and get it resolved. They said that an engineer tech needed to troubleshoot the issue even though I told them the problem. They don't care that I have been a loyal paying customer for years. DIRECTV has to be the worst company I have ever dealt with. I called to cancel service on 4/3/23 and spoke to a gentleman who confirmed my service was canceled and that he would be sending an email with information on what I need to mail back to DIRECTV (i.e. DVR boxes, remotes). I did not receive any emails so on 4/5/23 I called back and spoke to "Darryl" who proceeded to ignore my question on why my service was not canceled and berated me on why I was canceling. Then this person decided to tell me that my "cancelation approval date" was not in the system. WHAT?! APPROVAL? I said, go back to 2 days ago when I canceled. There is no "approval" needed, I am not in a contract and I canceled already. Turn the service off and let me go. This person said it doesn't work like that and I have to wait until the 17th for it to be canceled. BUT MY AUTO PAY IS ON THE 9TH I explained. Their response "Some of our customers continue getting charged but we will reimburse them with a check later." Absolutely not. I demanded a supervisor and I was denied multiple times. So I told this person to cancel my auto-pay immediately which took them another 10 mins to figure out. Now I have to sit and wait for them to cancel my service?
