I just picked up my dog today after leaving him for a long for a long weekend, friday thru monday. I cant thank petropolis enough for their wonderful care of my dog. I have never kenneled him before and was nervous about it. They reassured me and even gave me a link to go to and I could view him whenever I wanted through their camera that was in his kennel. This was a comfort to me. I also informed them that I had to put my other dog down a few months earlier and I knew Lenny was missing her. They made sure and gave him the extra love and comfort that he needed while I was away. After I brought him home, to my surprise, They had sent home a beautiful memory bag for my other dog that I had lost. A beautiful card, a candle, and a memory stone. My two go every Monday and you would think they have a calendar. They get so excited the poor ladies can not even hear me when I call to let them know we are there. I check them out on camera a couple of times a day and they allow me to be a helicopter pup parent and check on them. Never an issue and always helpful. One day I hope they get an inside area for bad weather. But if it is a stormy day, they are always nice and let us cancel. Pups love it and I love what they love. read more

We've had our dog for almost a year now and have taken him to Petropolis regularly. Prioritizing our dogs comfort is really important to us and I felt like Petropolis aligned with our needs. Each time we took him, we would specify what we wanted. Almost every time, there were things that were not done. (I would like to clarify, we went to the Chesterfield location once and it was incredible). Examples : his belly/ underneath area was not cut, his head and face would not be cut, tail or ears would not be brushed, some nails would not be trimmed. I understand that sometimes you cannot get to everything when a dog doesn't want you near its face or certain areas, but it would never be mentioned. We would just notice after we get home. One time was bad enough I had to call and schedule a touch up. The overall haircuts have been fine. Just multiple small things being forgotten. When paying more than somewhere like PetSmart, I would expect the services and overall integrity to be at a higher level. Yesterday, we took our dog for his grooming appointment. His original appointment was for about a month ago but he needed updated vaccines. Long story short, the vet was booking out pretty far and we had to reschedule the grooming. We knew he had some matting behind one of his ears. We bathe and brush him regularly but he is sensitive to having his ears brushed. We figured the groomer could get them untangled or cut them out. The groomed we had this time was different from the one we've had every other time. I asked for the 3/4" or 1/2" cut. Upon picking him up, I see he is completely shaved from head to toe. The only part that was not shaved was the very end of his tail. She told me there was matting on his ear and tail and she had to shave him. I wasn't too concerned, just a little shocked, but we have had him shaved before. I was just worried he was going to be cold on walks and I was a little confused why she didn't call to let me know. We get in the car, he cried and whined the whole drive home. He couldn't sit still and would not stop crying. He has never acted this way when we pick him up or just in general. When we got home, he started to scratch and lick his tail and paws excessively. This was not concerning on its own because many dogs are itchy after the groomer. I looked at his tail and saw it was super red and inflamed. Upon further investigation, there is a bright red line going down the base of his tail that appears to be some kind of cut/ scratch. He was also crying when we would touch his paws. This was worrisome because he does not ever mind his paws being touched. We are currently trying to get in touch with management to figure out what happened. read more

I have 2 cats. Shelby did a great job grooming them. Appointments are easy to make. My complaints are whatever tech systems they are using are terrible. I submitted proof of vaccination received a confirmation and still got a phone call stating they didn't have it. Other issue is receiving a text at 9:00pm reminding me of appointment. My biggest complaint is they are way too expensive considering I have 2 cats. I need a place that allows cats to be medicate. I took off one star for pricing. read more

I've taken my dogs to Petropolis for a week stay, twice now I believe. My dogs sleep all day at home, so the 20 minute empowerment session they get together everyday is perfect for them. They're always so happy to see us when we pick them up, but I know they're in great hands! We've had one incident between our dogs during their stay, resulting in needing them to have their own rooms, which is no big deal at all. I appreciate that Petropolis will contact us if there's any concerns at all! I do wish they would reach out more or upload daily pictures to keep my anxiety at bay. I'm always anxious leaving my dogs for any period of time! I 100% recommend Petropolis for anyone looking for boarding for their dogs of any age, breed, or temperament! read more

Before you bird your dogs, you get to bring them for one trial day of daycare at zero charge to ensure they will be happy.
