(TL-BR) eggnog, candy canes n creams, cinnamon bun, the reverse
    Courtney C.

I've been here twice, the first time I picked up a cookie for my brother which he really enjoyed and this last time I picked up a 4 pack of the holiday flavors for myself. I like that they have several cookies that are always on their menu and then additional cookies that swap weekly. The price is the same as their competitor which I think is a bit steep for cookies but I do have to say these taste much more "home made" and all of the flavors were buttery. Not only do they serve cookies but shakes and coffees and fancy "dirty" sodas. The worker gave me an entire spiel when I ordered which honestly I didn't grasp half of it aside from the fact there were instructions on how to heat them. I ate all of the cookies warmed and all of the seasonal flavors were delicious I was least impressed with "the reverse" which is described as 'Fudge filling wrapped chocolate in a cookie then triple wrapped with a peanut butter cookie and topped chocolate drizzle with crushed Reese's' . Honestly it was super dry and tasted overly peanut-y like fresh peanuts rather than a cohesive cookie. That aside all the other flavors were very good and again I loved how buttery they were. I'm sure I'll be back but this is definitely a once in awhile treat and not a regular stop. I hope they do well in this location.

When I arrived after a very good Mexican lunch further up York Road there wasn't much to choose from in their display case. A few pastries were about all there was. Not a loaf of bread to be found. The young woman behind the counter was friendly and helpful, but she couldn't provide what I was really looking for, great brownies or a fresh fruit pie or coffee cake to take home. So, I opted for a Carrot Cake pastry and a large Chocolate Chip Cookie. Both were adequate, but less than the rapturous experience I was hoping for. The Choco Chip was very sweet and crunchy, but without many chocolate chips. The Carrot Cake looked great, but its flavor was muted. The cake was not as moist as I anticipated, and the icing with a mild light cream texture, as opposed to the heavier cream cheese topping I was expecting. Not at all what I was craving. Sure, it may have saved me from calories and a diabetic coma, but I was looking for a small splurge. This place clearly was too healthy and sensible for my moment seeking temporary indulgences. Although the cafe was cozy and sat at sidewalk level, it just didn't "pop" for me. Perhaps, a better time would permit more satisfying results. 3.5 Patisserie Etoiles.

My review is based on two issues, size recommended, and lack of cannoli flavor (with the exception of some cute mini cannoli decorations). The employee I spoke with on the phone was very nice. We discussed that I'd have a few other dessert offerings but that I wanted enough for everyone. They strongly recommended a half sheet cake , saying it feeds 35. The cake was gorgeous, but it was literally tremendous (very big and high) and twice the amount needed. It would have been enough for 45 people . I cut huge slabs of cake and still had half of it leftover. I froze some and gave a lot away , but for $210 , I could definitely have ordered a smaller cake and saved a lot of money. The second issue was the cake itself. It was very fresh, and tasted good (I admit , once I got over my disappointment). The cake was chocolate chip with a yummy buttercream chocolate frosting. However, I wouldn't have chosen to spend this much on a cake if it wasn't for the cannoli cream, my favorite. Besides the decorations , no one could tell it was a cannoli cream cake. Everyone said that it was beautiful, but we were all disappointed because we expected something different. When I emailed the owner regarding these two issues , his only response was to say that the cake was very fresh. He was otherwise defensive and didn't offer anything to compensate me. I'd recommend this bakery if you're looking for a fancy custom cake, (but not necessarily the cannoli cake) , but the Sam's Club chocolate mousse cake for $19 got higher reviews from my guests (it was truly exceptional). Addendum; since the cake was fresh and tasted nice I wouldn't not have written this review had the owner compensated me for my for selling a much larger cake than needed, and the lack of substantial cannoli flavor. He was just way to defensive .

The owner is one of the kindest, most genuine people you'll ever meet. She greets her customers with a warm and welcoming feel that you can't help but leave with a smile (and usually more treats than you planned on taking home.) Her creativity and variety on treats are unmatched! Everything I have ever purchased from Michela is absolutely delicious and clearly crafted with passion. The bakery itself is always spotless, bright, and inviting, you can tell how much pride she takes not only in her treats but in the overall experience. This little gem has it all! Reasonably priced sweets, generous portions, friendly faces behind the counter, and delicious options for everyone.

When I saw she had two new cheesecake flavors, I rushed out of the house because I heard she sells out quickly. I was promptly greeted by Michela herself. I immediately noticed the cheesecakes in the case and I told her I saw them through friend's reposts. She was so kind and said the flavors get updated every so often. I got the banana pudding cheesecake and the Biscoff cheesecake. Of the two, I preferred the banana. It was moist and creamy with that pudding-like consistency. I don't want to downplay the Biscoff slice - it was great, but a little on the dry side. I enjoyed the cookie pieces, though and it wasn't overly sweet. Two very unique flavors that I had not tried anywhere else. Pricing was reasonable for the area. I would absolutely swing by again and try different items!
