Nina's is a small, boutique ice cream shop of which there are a few in eastern Pennsylvania. I had never been to the store. I'm visiting friends in Doylestown and my host suggested ice cream on a waffle at Nina's on State Street. It's 90, so I said yes in a hurry. There were three of us, and we ordered chocolate, birthday cake, and coconut ice cream, respectively, on a warm waffle. I go easy on the sugar most of the time, but ice cream is a monthly exception. This ice cream was wonderful, and so many flavors to choose from. The ice cream softened on the warm waffle and added a little sweet cream to make the waffle moist. It was like a Continental dessert rather than a warm weather snack. Try it... Nina's serves great ice cream, great waffles, and lots of toppings.

Milk chocolate and peanut butter caramel

Eh. It wasn't the worst ice cream I have ever had but it wasn't the best by a long shot. I got the Peanut Butter Caramel and my husband got Milk Chocolate. Both of us noticed right away that the ice cream seemed gummy. When you pulled the spoon out of the ice cream, it was a long extended stretch sort of like you experience with mozzarella when pulling a piece of pizza from a fresh pie. After googling what would cause this, seems like improper freezing might be the culprit since we also each had some ice crystals in our ice cream as well. Besides the texture, the flavors themselves were ok. I would have liked a little more chunks of peanut butter in my Peanut Butter Caramel ice cream and maybe at least a few ribbons of caramel (there seemed to be none). My husband thought the milk chocolate flavor was ok.

Gluten free waffle with vanilla Ice cream

Such a cute spot, definitely a must try if you're visiting Doylestown. The staff were super nice and they warmed up my gluten free waffle for me. I got the gf waffle with the vanilla ice cream and it was amazing!! I'll definitely be back :))

    Nutella waffle

Love this spot for ice cream and waffles dessert! We just went again and the ice cream flavors are all so good and the waffle with it just makes it so much better! My friend got the Nutella waffle and loved it! Staff is very friendly and let's you sample to find the right flavor. Would def recommend people to stop by here even after a dinner out which is what we did!

Mainstay ice cream place in doylestown. It is located right off the main road. I think this place has great waffles as well as ice cream. They offer a ton of different types of ice cream as well. I think it would be nicer if they had soft serve ice cream. The ice cream servers are so nice and helpful as well. Definitely a great ice cream spot to visit!

Waffle with peanut butter caramel and bourbon cinnamon ice cream.

This is the worst ice cream in all of Bucks County and maybe Eastern Pennsylvania, and I'm pretty much an expert. The employees were friendly and the ice cream was edible. That's it. That's everything nice I have to say. The flavors don't taste like what they're supposed to. The peanut butter caramel tasted like, IDK, maybe a jar of Jif sneezed on it? Vaguely PB flavored. Not sure where caramel came from but it wasn't in the ice cream. Know what was? Ice crystals. The bourbon cinnamon tasted like cinnamon, but someone is definitely lying about where the bourbon is because it is not in the ice cream. But the crystals are there, too. The waffle was heavy, dense, and doughy. Awful. I didn't even eat it. This shitty review cost me over $11. Try any other ice cream place. I have no clue why there's a line here, but seriously, it's the woooooooorst.

This was our fourth and final stop on an all day ice cream extravaganza! My mother and two kids agree, we saved the best for last! So much so, I considering returning as stop #5 on our day two ice cream spree through Bucks County. After tasting as many flavors as we liked, I chose the currant ice cream. My mother chose mango. My son chose mango with waffle bites. My daughter chose waffle and berry berry ice cream. These were deep, rich flavors! The ice cream was so fresh, smooth and creamy we felt like we were enjoying a fancy dining out experience. The waffles were the perfect, fluffy and crisp outer shell. I took some currant iced cream home to my lacrosse intolerant husband as I deemed it worth the price. When do you ever see this flavor!?

My favorite dessert spot in Doylestown! The waffles are unlike any other, thick and crispy and so flavorful. The moment you walk in you can smell the delicious sugar of the waffles that makes your mouth start to water. They also have great ice cream and I love getting a waffle with a scoop of the espresso crunch ice cream. I recently ordered takeout--I ordered the Nutella and Strawberry waffle which came with a generous portion of both toppings. I ordered waffle bites and espresso crunch as well, and everything was still hot when it came! Would highly recommend to anyone!

But seriously. Never settle for just one scoop.. or flavor. SO good!

We got a warm soft pretzel. It was a cute store with many flavors of ice cream. The pretzel was very good. The service was friendly.

Best Soufflé Pancakes ever!…read more Now that I've actually been to Japan I can honestly say I crave these pancakes more than the ones I had overseas! These pancakes are more fluffier and eggier (I think that's a legit word, LOL), and super rich! If you don't like eggs, don't visit because there is a lot of eggy flavor. I've tried the two dominant flavors, Matcha and Strawberry, and I can't tell which one I like better. The light cream topping is better than any butter or maple syrup I've ever had. There is usually one more flavor that they change from time to time as well which I've heard is great. Going on the weekday avoids the wait. The abnormal hours of operation don't make it easy to visit but if you do you'll definitely enjoy. Book the table on Yelp!

J S Foodies is the latter, a small and cheerful outpost of Tokyo imagination where breakfast behaves like theater. I arrived with my boys and my father in law, a man celebrating another year of survival in a universe that has not yet figured out how to improve pancakes. The space is small, and the famous Kiseki pancakes take their time, about twenty to thirty minutes, as if they are being persuaded into existence rather than cooked. These Kiseki pancakes are not pancakes in the American sense. They are soufflé style creations, tall and trembling, as if gravity is only a suggestion. They arrive airy and delicate, with a gentle jiggle that suggests optimism. We ordered accordingly. I had the lemon ricotta, which tasted like sunlight had been filtered through dairy. My oldest chose matcha, green, purple and quietly sophisticated and complex. My youngest went with the original maple, a classic executed so well it made the classics feel new again. All were excellent, the sort of food that makes conversation pause because mouths are busy being grateful. My father in law ordered what I personally considered a cautious breakfast. Regular pancakes with eggs and bacon. A meal that could have been assembled in any roadside diner between here and forever. Yet even this was handled with care. The eggs were perfect, the bacon honest, the pancakes dignified. No irony, no shortcuts. Yes, the prices are a little steep. But this is not a place for routine nourishment. This is a place for occasions, for birthdays, for reminding yourself that breakfast can aspire to something like art. Five stars, because sometimes the world surprises you by getting something exactly right.
