Dis and Bark Aiea is their original location located in Pearlridge. It's probably my second or third time at this location and there is an entrance near TJ Maxx that will take you directly to their store. I was lost the first time i went here because this townie hardly ever goes into Aiea or let alone Pearlridge mall. To be honest - i did not have dogs that liked toys until we got the baby gremlin this year. He loved the pastry box which i had for a while that was sitting in storage. He's even fit in the box as a puppy at one point. They now carry more than just toys, there's enrichment items, raw foods, and an assortment of treats. Your dog is always welcomed here. Gremlins are also tolerated, lol. We were helped by Maile this past visit and the boys got SO MANY TREATS! if you're indecisive of which one to buy, then they will offer so many samples to see if they enjoy it first. which mine of course does because they have no self-control. read more

I went to this store several times when I was visiting home. On my first visit I was walking through the mall and the stuffed shaved ice caught my attention. Yeah, even stuffed dessert attract my sweet tooth. At the time they were participating in Pearlridge mall "Fukuburuko." Fukuburuko is deeply discounted grab bags. Every time I came into the store I was greeted right away. The first time I came in the sales associate asked if it was my first time. She gave me a run through of the store. She explained that it's locally owned and inspired. Most of their treats are made by them. She showed me the cute shirts for people and explained the Fukuburuko to me. I purchased a Fukuburuko bag and a few treats to bring back home. I really liked what I got and decided to go back the following day and they still had bags left, I purchased another bag. Every time we came back to the mall I popped in. Location: It's on the TJ Max side of Pearlridge Mall. Dis-and-Bark is on the first floor in between the Cat Cafe and Royal Hawaiian Heritage Jewelry. Watching my dogs play with the toys brings a smile to my face. It reminds me of back home. Hopefully one day I can save enough to show my fur babies the beautiful island I was born and raised. It is a little pricey but I love that I get to support local and get a cute harness like this. The workers are so friendly as well. Dis-and-Bark makes the cutest dog toys that totally hit the mark for the local market, and I had to fight the urge to buy everything. I had to keep it to just one toy because, you know, limited luggage space when you're hauling everything back to the mainland. I had my eye on this adorable stuffed Zip Pac set, but the staff kindly warned me it might not survive my two dogs, who treat stuffed toys like they're in a WWE match. I've been wanting to check this place out for the longest time, and I finally made it to Pearlridge Center with my dog, Lulu. She was so excited as soon as we walked into the store--there were tons of Hawaii-themed toys and the smell of treats everywhere. The employees were incredibly friendly and even gave Lulu some treats while we browsed! They have a fantastic selection of cute local toys like a loco moco, a shoyu bottle, a Hawaiian Sun plush, and more. Everything was absolutely adorable! They also carry a variety of nutritious treats for dogs. Yes, the toys are a bit pricey, but they're totally worth it for the unique, one-of-a-kind items from Hawaii. We love this place! read more

Dis-and-Bark is known for its Hawaii-inspired toys, harnesses, and bags that brings joy to pets and their owners alike. These items are designed by owner Leah. For those who are just looking for a quick review: - Friendly staff that are continually learning about the store and products and greeting people and pups (they just opened June 15) - If you bring your fur babies, they get to "sample" a treat (I love it because then I know if they like it or not) AND they totally let you read the bag for ingredients - Products are great, even the B Grade - You get what you pay for, which is LOVE and ATTENTION and QUALITY - You can try-on the harnesses and collars in-store to make sure you get the correct size - I am picky when it comes to what I feed my dogs for their health and safety and longevity, but I don't have to worry about that here Now here's my long review: I have been following Dis-and-Bark for a while. Only recently (as in the last 1-2 months) did I become a mama to 2 fur babies. I WISH I bought their previous toys when they were still just online (1. Because I absolutely love everything Leah creates 2. Some stuff aren't around because she's continually coming out with new things!!!) But that's a whole other thing lol. From grand opening day June 15 to today I have been in this store MULTIPLE times. And I mean like 7+ times both when they are busy and when no one else is in. (I space out my purchases and some of the girls know me now because I've been there so much both with my babies and while I'm on lunch because I work upstairs). Coming from myself, an employee of a small business in Hawaii, I can see their growth every time I step in. I can see the HARD and CREATIVE work of Leah and her 'ohana. They continue to train and help their staff interact with people and pups (it's not a skill everyone has to be outgoing to humans and pups and humans with pups, so let them continue to learn). The floor is ever changing so look carefully before you miss something good. Supporting local means supporting the time and effort and price. They are filling a niche that is much appreciated. Also if I didnʻt work 2 jobs that I love and have 2 human kids and 2 fur babies, I would work here. IT REALLY IS DISNEYLAND FOR DOGS AND DOG OWNERS. read more

Dis And Bark! My pups favorite doggie shop! I think I've followed Aunteh Leah for some time now.. Back a few years ago at a pop up in Aikahi Elementary to be exact. It's never a fail that I pick up two of each toy everytime something new comes out . One for the pups and one for me to save because they're such CUTE Toys. I've been an online customer long before they opened their brick and mortar shops in Pearlridge and SALT Kakaako. They're famous for their unique Hawaii dog toys, so it's been fun buying these as gifts for friends who live out of state and know about local things. Lately I've been appreciating their unique treat selection, and I would much rather purchase from a Hawaii small business! More than anything, though, if there's ever a reason to keep being a repeat customer, it would be because of the owner Leah. I can confidently say that she likely doesn't not know me from the next customer, but I've noticed her. Back when Dis-and-bark was only a Pearlridge pop-up shop, I walked out of the store with my purchase as Leah was about to enter her store. She stopped me with earnest appreciation and thanked me for buying from them. This was profoundly impressive to me. Another encounter was a year+ later when I decided to visit their Pearlridge location again and she was there, trying to find a sample treat that my very picky dog would take. I bought a bag of treats and while I was checking out, another bag of treats (the pawcorn) caught my eye and I asked Leah to add it to my order. She nonchalantly gifted it to me for no reason even when I told her that I had every intention to pay for it! After following Dis-and-Bark on Instagram for a few years, I was finally able to visit their retail store in Pearlridge. This shop is amazing! Ashley, who was working today, was amazing. He was very kind and knowledgeable about the products and the company. He gave us a lot of information about the toys and treats available. I ended up purchasing a bag of treats, the lau lau toy (so stinking cute) and the Heineken toy (hilarious). I love that a lot of their toys are multiple in one! When you open the lau lau, there is a squeaky pig inside. And the Heineken pack has 4 individual "beer bottles" with squeaker toys inside. Whenever I return to Oahu, I will definitely be back to support this amazing local business. read more
