Big Night in! My boyfriend never has to ask me what I would like to order for our night in. He knows I would never say no to Disco Cheetah.  My Ultimate Take out Food Disco Cheetah, best tofu I've ever had! Love their choice of rice, salad or fries... I normally go with a combination of veggies and rice. Love the sauces -  Vegan Plum Mayo and Chili Mayo sauces are my favorite! My boyfriend is a huge fan of their KFC and fries! With Chili Chili sauce and Chili Mayo sauce.  Really good value for amazing food! 5 Stars! #YelpsBigNightIn #vancouver #vancityeats #stayin #stayhome #orderin #supportlocal #localbizlove #lvancityfoodies #yelpvancouver

Great value, tasty food, and reasonable portions! I've been to South Korea several times and I honestly have to say that the Korean Fried Chicken served at Disco Cheetah was legit! They serve the chicken with a sticky sweet and spicy sauce over a bed of your basic McCain fries. It comes with lots of Korean Mayo and spices so everything goes really well together. Overall, it was a very filling lunch for $10 and I definitely want to come back to try their rice bowls! FYI, I've seen them at the North Vancouver night market and parked right beside the Vancouver Art Gallery in downtown.

Anything Korean and I'm in. Finally got a chance to try this place out for lunch since it's a food truck and it will be at different locations so be sure to use the Street Food app to track their whereabouts. They've recently been coming to downtown quite a lot so I finally got to try it out on my Food Truck Friday! They were situated next to Tacofino and Mom's Grilled Cheese Truck by the Vancouver Art Gallery and there were at least 10 people in front of me when I went at 1:30pm. I almost opted out for Tacofino since there was barely a line there but one does not change their mind when they're set on eating at a specific food truck on Friday! The Chili Chicken was sold out by the time I got to the truck and the Beef Bulgogi Meatballs were sold out while I was standing in line.... so I had the Pork Galbi Steak burrito which was decently filling with it's variety of veggies and tender juicy pork wrapped in a spinach tortilla. The only down side of this burrito was that the juices from the pork and veggies all trickled down to the bottom of the burrito making the last few bites of the tortilla mushy (which I'm definitely not a fan of) so if you happen to work nearby, I'd suggest bringing it back to the office and cutting it up in half so that there isn't too much mush on either sides! Would definitely come back to try the Beef Bulgogi Meatballs and will probably opt for the rice bowl to avoid the mushy tortilla. You also have the option to choose your level of spice which is Mild, Medium or Spicy. Even if you don't choose the right heat, they've got additional chili sauces you can add on afterwards!

For a moment let's forget that ALL foodcarts in Vancouver are overpriced,... Disco Cheetah was one that I had not heard of before and appeared today as part of what looked like a mini-foodcart festival at Granville and 10th. I asked the owners what they suggest from their limited menu (basically 3 "meat" types that come in 3 forms: Quesedilla, taco, burrito). They said Taco so I could try 2. I like that concept but in today's gourmet taco market that usually means sample sized,... Not so in this case, I received a Korean beef and spicy chicken taco, both on a medium sized flour tortilla and not small at all. The flavours were good and the toppings healthy. Do not be fooled by my photo which makes the tacos seem small,.. they are above average and for $8 for 2, I think the way to go.

First time trying this food truck with my coworkers. We wanted something new other than the usual salad. We ordered from the ritual app. I ordered the fried chicken salad bowl and my coworkers got the fried chicken rice bowl. Really good value! I'm full and I still have 2 big pieces of fried chicken left. The guy who handed me the food was very friendly and the food was ready as soon as I got there. If you want fried chicken, come here.

Disco Cheetah is a Korean-Mexican fusion food truck serving rice bowls, tacos, burritos and grilled cheese qeusadillas using Alberta beef bulgogi, and Fraser Valley chili chicken. They can be found around Vancouver, farmer markets, festivals, and events. For times and location follow Disco Cheetah on Twitter at @yvrDCtaco . Look for the bright yellow truck. You can't miss it! This is a cool concept serving a niche market but one the major issues with me is the flavours get old fast. All tacos have the same combination of toppings which results in everything tasting the same. WHAT WE TRIED: - Vegan Tofu Taco | $5 - BBQ Pork Taco | $5 - Sweet Chili Chicken Taco | $5 - Meatball Taco | $5 - Small Pork Rice Bowl | $6 OVERALL IMPRESSION OF DISCO CHEETAH: Disco Cheetah addresses the niche market of korean style mexician tacos and burritos. One thing that bugs me is the lack of thought on using toppings and sauces that compliment the protein. When I looked at my food I wondered if I got the wrong order because I ordered 4 different tacos but they all looked the same. The flavours became muddled together and hard to tell which protein I was eating. It would be nice to see more thought on using ingredients to compliment the protein. A good example is for them to look at Tako's menu which opened after them. They also serve korean-mexican fusion. Personally I would rather commute to Tako if I'm craving for this type of cuisine. The korean tacos are tastier, and cheaper at Tako too on a regular day. Plus they have happy hour prices. The Good: - Nice that they started the korean-mexican trend in BC The Bad: - Everything tastes the same regardless of what we order.

I love Korean Fried Chicken. I was at the Cherry Blossom Festival and spotted the Disco Cheetah truck. I got the Korean Fried chicken with fries. Six to seven pieces of boneless, deep fried chicken pieces, with a sweet glaze. They also had three sauces to add, a pineapple hot sauce, a garlic mayo, and a kimchi mayo. I like how the chicken is boneless, and it was perfectly crispy, and not overly dressed. The fries were fresh, hot and crispy. The pineapple hot sauce is a must. It's a little sweet, a little spicy. Topped with pickled ginger and green onion, I really liked how everything came together. Would return to try the fried chicken rice bowl!

Tried them out at the shipyard's night market. their lineup was the longest at the food truck area so we couldn't pass by without trying! we tried the K.F.C rice bowl, pulled pork taco, and pulled pork mini burgers for our little one. Though as a Korean who is serious about Korean fried chickens, I dont think I can call their LFc authentic but the dish was tasty. alsowe loved the addition of edamame and red cabbage pickle which made the food instagram worthy(and made the dish look healthier!) the taco was good but i would pass the pulled pork buns next time. definitely worth a try!

Best fried chicken out of a food truck! Delicious sauces packed with flavour. For $11 you can't beat the portion you get. I couldn't finish it all and had some for lunch and dinner.

I had m their chilli chicken salad ($10) today. It tasted very good but didn't have a wow factor. The chicken thighs had a flavourful marinade and sear. It was not v spicy. The veggies were fresh but wish there was a bit more dressing. The egg salad seemed out of place. The ladies working the truck were very nice, polite and smiley. Great for a quick lunch in the middle of downtown.

I don't think you can make a smaller taco, around 4", $9 for two of these

Value: 1/10, $9 for two small tacos Taste: 6/10, Beef - OK, nothing stellar. Chicken - hated it Quality: 7/10, fresh ingredients, reasonable materials Presentation: Its a food truck! Service: 7/10, they were friendly enough, but 20 minutes to get an order placed and filled. Payment: They take cash or credit. If cash, you don't get a receipt. If credit, they use Square, so only electronic receipt, and if you care about personal information and privacy you just lost it. Recommendation: Very disappointing, I would neither recommend nor go back

Oh these were yummy! I tried the food cart when it was based at the plaza of nations (downtown Vancouver) food cart night on a Saturday. I don't know why this food truck has never crossed my radar, but it will not be forgotten. Ordered two tacos (2 for $9) and they were the chicken and beef tacos. I tried the beef first - the beef was seasoned (marinated?) and packed with flavour. The chicken was good, but I think had more veggies than I would have liked. Of the two I liked the beef more, but both tacos were jam packed and they do have a good amount of meat in them! I'd try these again.

Between the 5 of us we ordered the bossam, spicy galbijjim, seafood pancake, and stir fried tteokbokki. This was more than enough food for us. They also gave a few banchan and bowls of rice. The bossam and seafood pancake were stellar - probably the best bossam I have ever had tbh! The meat was so tender yet flavorful and the sides made the perfect wrap. The seafood pancake was extraordinarily crispy and delicious with the sauce. While the galbijjim was good too, I was expecting the short ribs not the large back ribs. The tteokkbokki was just average. Definitely worth a stop!

The japchae was my favorite: chewy and not overly sweet, which is refreshing compared to many Korean restaurants in NYC. The dumplings were good but fairly standard, nothing standout. We also had mackerel, which looked good, and the tteokbokki came with beef, which the kids loved. Despite all the food, my son only ate white rice--sigh. Service was very kind and attentive. I hadn't heard about Sooda until this August, when I stumbled upon an ad by a foodie influencer on…read moresocial media who tried the restaurant during their 10th anniversary sale. A lot of items were 30% off which is a pretty good discount considering a lot of their mains are $20-$50. Apparently Sooda is really hyped on google reviews and according to some people online, people line up out the door during the dinner rush. I came here on a friday afternoon near opening time at 12 for lunch with friends. There were only a couple tables occupied at the time. My friends ordered a bulgogi platter. According to the menu, it comes with beef marinated in bulgogi sauce served on a hot plate with cheese, green onions, house made egg-rolls, corn, and rice. It's usually a whopping $49 but with the special 30% anniversary discount it was only around $35 so it was definitely worth it. Our food came in a pretty good time in about 12-15 minutes. The melted cheese was SO GOOD. I love cheese but melted mozzarella is delicious. It's divine. The beef was tasty. I like the bulgogi sauce. It was meant to be mixed with the rice and egg rolls. If you just eat them separately, it's gonna be mid because they have little flavor on their own. I like that they included some small side dishes (banchan) to refresh your taste buds, such as kimchi and pickled radish. It was well needed for such a greasy and salty dish. I really like the vibe and the staff here. They had a couple k-pop music videos playing on the TV and k-pop and pop music playing in the background. The customers at the time seemed to have a good time here. They had some 10th birthday balloons and decorations all over the dining area too. The place is pretty dark with just enough lights and the walls are black which makes the vibe kind of cool. There are some interesting looking giant murals as well Our server was in a happy mood and all smiles. She liked to joke a lot with customers which was great to see. She was happy to answer any questions we had about the menu since it was our first time there. She was the only server at the time so she looked pretty busy. She refilled our waters and asked if everything was good so we felt taken care of. She said thank you, hi and goodbye to everyone in our group as well. Shout out to Seoyoung for being a great server! Washrooms are fine. As far as I know there's only 1 private men's washroom for the entire restaurant but it was pretty clean. A bit cluttered with cleaning supplies but it was clean and spacious. 5 out of 5 stars based on this visit. The 30% off 10th anniversary discount made it really worth coming for the price I paid. I hope they have similar promotions like that in the future. More importantly, the food and staff are great so it's worth checking out.

Korean guy at the front waves at us, asks how many people, and directs us to a seat. Then another Korean guy comes over and scolds us, telling us to next time please wait at the front until being seated. Clearly they have some organizational issues here and not a great start to this visit. We place our order. Food for 2 of our 4 arrive about 10 mins later. The food for the other 2 people arrive another 20 mins later. Meanwhile the food for the first 2 ppl just sit there. Thankfully they were in clay pots so it was still warm at least, but this is ridiculous. There is no reason for this. If you're slow to get food out, fine, but bring it all out at once. The restaurant itself is huge, looks like a lounge and bar but mostly empty. The staff are all dressed differently too in street clothes so its hard to tell who works there. They are clearly struggling with understaffing. We had a caucasian waitress who came by to deliver food. She was very nice and friendly. About the food. We ordered: kimchi soondubu - asked for extra spicy, it was barely spicy. beef/seafood mixed soondubu - asked for spicy, it was straight up not spicy. The broth base was the same for each, and lacked depth of flavour. The tofu itself was pretty good, silky smooth, but tofu takes on the flavours of whatever it's cooked with and in this case, not much... The beef in these was just ok and there wasnt much of it. The seafood in the mixed one amounted to 1 clam and 1 shrimp shell-on. There was nothing else in it. 2/5 for both of these. Gamjatang - medium sized portion, good for 2, maybe 3 people. Meat was ok, broth was not bad. Solid average. 3/5. banchan served with the meals were the biggest disappointment. 2/5. This might be the most disappointing banchan ive had in a Korean restaurant in a long time. They served regular cabbage kimchi, radish kimchi, and bean sprouts. thats it. None of them were particularly good (not bad, just nothing great). And for a party of 4, they served a single portion of each banchan for the whole table. We had to ask for refills 3 more times. You have 4 diners, all with food that comes with Banchan normally. Wouldnt it be reasonable to bring out 4 portions of banchan right off the bat? Especially when you're understaffed? Overall: Main dishes 2.5/5. Banchan 2/5 for overall selection and quality. Service 2/5 - really comes down to severe understaffing and really poor management of how the kitchen is run. The staff there do their best but they need help. Venue 3/5. Overall, 2 to 2.5/5. This place might be the worst Korean place on the Robson strip of all the ones Ive been to. That's saying a lot, since Vancouver doesnt have amazing Korean food to begin with, and this is one of the worst of the bunch.
