Five stars x a million!!!! This place is amazing and I wish I lived closer so I could visit weekly. Everything is gluten free but if you aren't gf, don't let that scare you off. Disco Chicken proves the days of dry, grainy, gritty gluten free fare is over!!!! The biscuits are the Star, IMO, along with the donuts. The fried chicken isn't a slouch, by any means, but the biscuit is just that amazing. My other favorite thing was the frozen lemonade. Crisp and fresh, super cold and just the right amount of sour. I will definitely be back but maybe on a slightly less busy day. The parking was insane as there was a World Cup match on the evening of our visit. So glad the food hall is popular though, but just be aware of local events. You might get relegated to parking at the top of the hill and have to walk down (and then back up). read more

It's hard to start this review without saying Holy *%^# this food is GOOD! Disco chicken is located inside Kerns Food Hall and is a fast food style restaurant. It is gluten free with no chance of cross contamination. I got the chicken biscuit and a xul beer for my lunch. The biscuit was hot and delicious. The chicken? Steaming , moist, perfect! I ate EVERY bite. I also grabbed two donuts to go, a cinnamon sugar and a chocolate iced. I took a small bite of each while there, and yummmmm. Noise wise, you are basically in a cafeteria. So it's not an intimate quiet place but for when that doesn't matter it's perfect. Employees were friendly, fast and efficient. This is a MUST try whether you are gluten free or not! read more

Food was amazing! So thankful for a place for people with celiac to enjoy such delicious and safe treats! We'd been looking forward to trying it for a while. Staff was unfriendly, bordering on rude. This got reported and deleted. However, it's factual, so I am reposting! We got take out from Disco Chicken & Donuts (Formerly, The Donut Theory food truck) at Kern's Food Hall's Grand Opening. Honestly, the food was underwhelming. The chicken tenders were good, the donut was a cake donut and not glazed like we expected when seeing "original" and the Mac and cheese was cooked with bacon. The bacon flavor was extremely overpowering. Service was quick and the lady in the food truck was friendly. Ambiance was good outside of Kern's Food Hall, but I would try something else there before going here! read more

Anyone gluten free who just wants to feel a little normal...this is your place. Everything is 100% gluten free and it's such a nice feeling to know you can order anything and be safe. I'm not really a friend chicken person, but just the option of being able to have it makes this worth it. I've gone twice now to get the "Full Monty" - once with mac n cheese as a side, and the other with fries. The fries plus the chicken is a little too salty for me, so make sure you order an iced tea or lemonade to go with it! But it's delicious. the staff is always so friendly. And the donuts are great. A very generous portion of everything for the price. this place is worth the side trip for. read more

Second time visiting here in kerns hall and it never disappoints. Best chicken tender I have ever had gluten free! The Mac and cheese wasn't my favorite but I went late at night so I think it wasn't as fresh as it could've been! Still tasted really good. The best part is the donut hole you get with the meal. Do yourself a favor, go here for THE BEST Gluten Free Food anywhere!!! Chicken tenders, donuts, donut holes, and ooohhhhh the biscuits!!! Get the Monty order to try a little of everything. I've been Gluten Free for 15 yrs and this is a FIND. Owner stopped by the table on Friday and lunch to ask how the food was and how we heard about them. Pro tip for companions - it's in a food court, so if they make the terrible choice to have some else they can. read more

Tried their donuts for the first and they're very dense. It tastes like their made with masa harina, which isn't a bad gluten free choice, but it doesn't suit their donuts well and will create a dense product. I still need to try their chicken! read more

Quick service, friendly staff, decently priced. This completely gluten free place has been on my food bucket list since I found out it had opened. Being gluten intolerant is a chore to eat out and enjoy food with my friends and family. Yesterday was an absolute dream because my husband could eat what he wanted at Kern's food hall, and I happily ordered a completely gluten free meal from Disco Chicken & Donuts! The Gouda Mac and cheese was delicious and made me feel like a kid again. The biscuit was light and fluffy. Fried chicken?! Insanely good. The donuts were incredible. The coleslaw was a unique one with pickles in it. And the apple butter... wow! This pregnant gluten free mama is very pleased and will be back as soon as we can!! read more

I'm writing this review because it's Feb and I just got a cherished leftover Disco donut out of my freezer from a Christmas visit to Knoxville. Everything is gluten free (I think a non-gf person might clock the donuts, but nothing else). I can't express how grateful my family is to find an all gluten free food! The food exceeded my expectations. Everything was delicious! My husband and daughter have celiac. We were so happy to not have to ask a million questions about ingredients, cross contamination and if employees change gloves. Also the owner came out to meet us and and make sure we loved our food. My husband has to live gluten free for medical reasons, hasn't had fried chicken or biscuits in years. This man was in hog heaven, I have never seen someone so excited. The biscuit was fluffy and moist, the chicken was cooked perfectly, the disco sauce was delicious. The donuts? Get the butter and salt flavor if you know what's good for you. We brought home one of each flavor. The only thing we felt was slightly eh was the Mac and cheese, it was super smoky and rich so we couldn't finish it. I love chicken more than any other protein in this world. I can say the food wasn't good for gluten-free food. It was just straight up good food. we ate it there so it was hot and fresh and crispy but I can't speak for takeout which we all know fried chicken can get a little dicey when you have to drive home. Finding a truly "Dedicated Gluten Free" spot in Kerns brought true Joy!! Everything is sooo good! The "Wasabi Honey Sauce" made "in house" is incredible with the fresh fried chicken tenders! It was really good, there aren't many good spots in Blount county for good bagels so this was a welcomed in my book. The cream cheese was on the thin side but honestly it was just enough for me. The donuts were good. The filling wasn't quite proportional to the donut. Took awhile to hit the filling.

You can definitely taste the difference! TIP: Get here early! The line can get pretty long, especially when people know how good this place is. Today I went with an Everything Bagel with Cream Cheese. The bagel was fresh, soft, light, and absolutely delicious! Sooooo good! But then I saw the Homemade Chocolate Babka Bread... DANG! This is a MUST TRY! Handmade chocolate babka that is rich, chocolatey, and ridiculously good. SOOOOO GOOD! They also had some special pastries, and today's was a Homemade Pop-Tart-style pastry. Another winner! Of course, I needed a Café Mocha to wash everything down. And check out the beautiful design they made on top of my mocha! Almost too pretty to drink... almost! I needed a minute to check the menu out and decided on two sausage egg and cheese bagels, one on Asiago and the other on an Everything. The came up super fast and smelled delicious. I had gotten them to go so the car ride was filled with temptation to chow down on these delicious smelling breakfast sandwiches. Digging into one when I got home made it worth the wait. The bagel itself had great flavor and a nice chew to it and the sausage egg and cheese is just classic. I really liked the everything bagel, I didn't try the other one because it wasn't for me but my husband really liked it. I will definitely be back. The bagels were great and the price of the breakfast sandwiches wasn't bad at all.
