    Where all the magic happens!!!
    Barbara C.

I was in the neighborhood visiting another business nearby and happened to catch this little gem in the corner of my eye. I walked over to check it out. Upon walking in it looks like a cute little bakery with some sweet treats out on display. But, what I was more interested in was their meals. They had prepared meals available, refrigerated or frozen. I think it's a really cool concept, and I'm surprised there aren't more local places like this. Upon asking a million questions, cause that's how I roll....(oh, they have fresh rolls too, fyi)...A friendly young lady advised me that their food is made with no preservatives and changes based on the day. I opted for a frozen Chicken Tetrazzini (for 2), since I had already eaten that day. I popped it in my fridge and ended up having it as a convenient meal 2 days later. I'm sure I could of had it the following day, but I already had plans. Anyway, the meal was pretty tasty! I look forward to trying more of their meals and/or baked good in the near future! The prices were a bit on the higher side, but it's fresh & local...which during these times can be priceless. P.S. If you're someone like me, on a limited income, here's a useful tip: the frozen meals are a bit cheaper than the refrigerated ones!

Great to-go foods, especially lasagne and loaded chicken salad. Salted caramel cookies are awesome.

Everything was delicious, but my favorite was the loaded chicken salad on a pretzel roll.

Just right. The Tangerine Aleppo drink was refreshing with a tiny peppery kick. It was busy for dinner on Friday and it seems people were waiting a bit for their to-go orders but they did a good job of keeping the line inside moving. We were making 3 different bowls and there was a misunderstanding on the main. They added steak to the wrong bowl and remade it for me which is very much appreciated. A good number of tables inside that could work for small or bigger groups. There was also a small patio with outside seating,

I got a basic bowl and it was literally two full meals for me, and I had just finished playing tennis for 2 hours and was hungry! It's a great way to get quick and tasty Mediterranean food. It's a good concept, and I was pleased they had suggested or curated dishes--- sometimes it is hard to know how to COMBINE all the different meats/sauces/veggies, etc. So that was nice. For a casual fast-place, its very tasty...but give me a senior meal!

She knows the menu like the back of her hand--seriously, she's tried every combination imaginable and helped us decide between a couple options. Her recommendations were spot on. I ended up getting the Oh Boy half sandwich, and I love that you can order it as a half. I was torn between that and the Tuscan chicken, but I would order the Oh Boy again in a heartbeat. I also had the pasta salad with both ranch and tahini--such a great option because you always want to try more than one dressing! We tried the Southwest salad too, and it was perfect with the chipotle ranch. Another really cool thing is that you can buy their dressings or hummus to go, which I'll definitely be doing next time. I also had a mocktail that was super fresh and felt really clean--kind of like their version of a spicy margarita, and it was delicious. Overall, great food, great options, and amazing service. Next time I'm coming back for brunch (which is only on Saturdays and Sundays)!

Ambience was meh with lousy (loud) acoustics. I could easily hear the crying babies from across the restaurant as well as the conversations from surrounding tables. Our food was fine. I opted for a sandwich and my wife had an appetizer for her meal. We probably would have opted for something more substantial but... The prices for pizza here are outrageous. On the menu there are several 14 inch pizzas that are priced OVER $40!!! Give me a break, I can go down the street and get a 3-course steak dinner for $39.99 at a really nice restaurant. Yes, I know that management will probably respond to this review crying about rising costs. There's just no way to justify a 14 inch pizza that costs close to $50. You are going to price yourself out of existence.

Located in an established strip mall by a high-traffic intersection at Kingston Pike and S. Peter's, Greens and Grains is easy to get in and out of with plenty of parking. The interior is spotlessly clean (including the restrooms!) and comprised of two connected dining areas and kitchens. One has a trendy, airy feel with cool green and white tones, while the other is darker with metal and wood elements, a game area, and a large open grill/prep area. The reason for the two different vibes was not immediately clear to me. Actually, it never became more clear during the hour or so I spent there, but I can appreciate a good mystery. This is NOT a fast food joint. In fact, it is slow. Agonizingly slow if you're in a hurry. This is a place to come when you are with a group of people you find highly entertaining (or when you heft along a great book) and don't mind waiting. After ordering two sandwiches and sides, my friend and I waited almost 20 minutes for our food to appear at our table. The macaroni salad was pleasantly flavorful, without the overcooked noodles and runny sauce so often found with this deli counter staple. The turkey and Brie was also good and grilled to buttery-crisp perfection. The sandwich, side, and a drink cost just under $20, so it's neither bargain-priced nor exotic, but fresh ingredients are not cheap. Only one employee was working in each of the two halves of the restaurant, so I imagine if they want to speed up their service, they are going to need to schedule more people. The two employees were both delightfully friendly, though, and they aren't just paying lip service to customer service, a goal plainly outlined on all the napkin dispensers and evidenced by their actions. Despite the slow service, I'm giving them a 5 for their dedication to quality ingredients and excellent customer service. I hope they make it for the long haul, and I'll definitely be back soon.

Plus, the purchase price of their chips goes to charity - it was fun picking our charity of choice. Service was excellent! The staff was enthusiastic and I must add "adorable". I'm returning next week.
