Being new (coming back after 24 yrs) to the area and trying to find great, honest service is always difficult. Today my brother went to get the smog on one of our cars and we Googled the nearest smog station. The first attempt took us to a test only and we needed a star certified test center. Looked around and across the street was Mike's Service Center. Went in and stated that we needed a a smog check. The owner (presuming he was the owner) was very nice and attentive. The car was smog tested and passed which on a 24 yr old car is sometimes difficult, we love the car and it's still drives awesome MBZ SLK 230. They just don't make em like they use to. All and all we are very pleased with the service at Mike's and would recommend them. Sure you can go to the big fancy big corp type of places, but we like supporting the small neighborhood and family run businesses. So yes it's a small smog test but in this crazy economy it's great to support your smaller community/neighborhood establishments. And you can probably get a smog for less somewhere else but there's something to be said about a place that says here's our price we don't play games with coupons to then nickel and dime you elsewhere. I called Mike's service center this morning, being new to the area and was concerned about being taken advantage of as a female. Mic quietly reassured me that we would get the job done. When I got there, I introduced myself and he already knew who I was. He instantly told me instead of the regular $95 an hour he was going to charge me 65 put my car on the rack showed me what the issue was did not try to oversell me hard work and honesty is hard to come by and I gotta say I will go back. Send my son back and recommend him to everybody. I know currently they've been in business a very long time and I can see why. Honesty, kindness, integrity and sincerity are not common and I received all of those things today. Amazing service explained everything to me did not oversell me anything what a wonderful experience. This nightmare I thought was gonna be go to them service these people. Went in get a price for a smog certification the owner Mike was on the phone seem upset at the caller. When finished he with the same tone he was using while talking to the caller, asked me what I wanted. In return I asked him if I was upsetting him.he mumbled something and I walk out, never to return. read more

Car broke down on the way back from big bear at 10pm as we were headed to San Diego. AAA couldn't fix it because it was the starter so we had no choice but to stay the night. Sam and his son fixed the car first thing in the morning within 1 hour and the price was extremely reasonable. They even offered to give us a ride to the hotel while we waiting. I've said it before and I say it again these are the best most genuine and honest auto mechanics I've ever met. Below is a review I posted three years ago on Google and since then I've only trusted my car to this mechanic Sam and his son Mike and they've continued to not disappoint me. Sam is always patient and friendly and takes his time to explain what's wrong with my car and how he plans to fix it. He's extremely knowledgeable and it's obvious how much passion he has in his career as an auto mechanic. This mechanic shop is trustworthy, friendly, and reasonable which is hard to find. If only all mechanics were as ethical as this one but because they're not I feel that it's important for me to write a review and encourage anyone in the area who has car issues to give this place a chance you won't be disappointed. My air conditioner went out - I had noticed before that it wasn't getting as cold as it should, but all of a sudden it wasn't working at all. Mike discovered that a $10 seal had probably been leaking as it broke down, but then completely failed. He replaced the seal and the freon, and now it's working perfect. I have been blown away by the service that I've received from Mike's. I manage a small fleet of vehicles for an outdoor education company based out of San Francisco. We were running a program in the San Gorgonio Mountains when one of our vehicles started having problems. Many hours from home and starting to worry, we managed to limp the vehicle into Mike's.
