I just had a great experience at Discount Tire on Braker Lane. Wow - these guys far exceeded my expectations. I came in to replace two tires, and Rudy saw me in the parking lot and came to help immediately. He quickly got me set up and got the process started - super friendly and helpful. As I waited, Easton came up to me - I was expecting him to tell me there was a problem, but he was there just to update me on the progress. I had an appointment at 11:30 - but was in a rush...so I arrived around 10:15 - and my car is now done. I can't recommend this place enough. read more

Customer service still exists here after not seeing it or believing in it for the longest time

What a pleasant experience I had here. I had a flat that I didn't know about for I don't know how long. I noticed it leaving work for lunch. Luckily this location was a few blocks down the street from work. Was able to schedule an appt same day that afternoon. The technician that assisted me at the counter checked me in quickly and was very helpful. I dont know much about tires. He checked all of them and explained about the treads on each one. He found the cause of the flat right away. He gave me a few options for new tires in case they couldn't patch the flat. I wasn't pressured in buying the tires. He handed me my invoice with a $0 balance which I just assumed it'll change after the service is completed. Another technician came in to tell me my car was done. They were able to patch it up. I took the invoice out and asked him why it's $0. He said there's no charge. I was ready to pay $800 for new tires if they couldn't patch. Perhaps I was a new client there? I will come back when I need new tires because of the service I received that day. read more

Nice guys but total unorganized and a pain to deal with. Don't return calls. Very difficult to get the right person on the phone for special orders. I made an appointment and they said it could take 2 hours plus for a rotation, when I resisted, all double talk. They didn't even screw the valve stem caps on more than a quarter turn, sure to fall off in a week. If you do business with these novices, watch them like a hawk! read more

On a road trip with my mom we unexpectedly got a flat and decided to stop here. I'm so glad we did! The staff was very nice and helpful, they told us all the services we could do, but we just wanted to get our tire patched up if possible. Normally I'd expect tire places to try to sell you something more than what you needed, but no to our surprise they patched up our tire in a timely fashion and best of all it was FREE! They're very honest and won't cheat you, best I can say for a lot of dealership places. I will be returning here if I ever have car troubles. read more

First of all I would like to see how much I love Discount Tire. I personally think it's one of the most ethical companies out there (as far as how they view customers) and love how they try to promote loyalty without taking advantage of customers. This Discount Tire is around the corner from where I come so I frequently come for air pressure fill ups and tire patches and changes. They're always friendly and respectful. The wait can be a bit long considering the high traffic of the intersection they are on, but the Domain is across the street so there's never not enough to do while waiting. Believe it or not I owned multiple cars over 2 decades and never had a nail on my tire until now. Been losing air since Sunday and I took it to Discount tire on Monday for some free air and the gentleman told me to come back if my TPMS light back on the next day. It was fine all Tuesday and today Wednesday morning, the warning light is back on. I had a feeling which tire that cause the warning light so I went back to Discount tire first thing and showed it to Justin. He immediately saw the small nail right in the center of the tire and said they should be able to patch it quickly and rebalance the tires. I was in and out within 30 mins. Very efficient and great customer service! Thank you! Try to get here as early as you can, the place is pack of cars even at 11am. read more

Only reason for the two is because of the manager being nice and apologetic to the long wait that I had to endure. $750 on 2 tires that should've been covered under the tire certificates. My dad has gotten literally thousands of tires through discount, I've gotten hundreds, and my mom and sister have always gotten their tires at discount. My sister took her car in with a large chunk out of both front driver and rear drivers side tires. I told her to go in because it seemed very unsafe and prone to a blow out. The chunks missing were roughly the size of my palm on each tire. My sister has the tire certificates on every single tire. Discount Tire refused to replaced either tire, claiming they were not road hazard or dangerous. Well that's bull shit. There is no way they would've allowed those tires to go on any other vehicle leaving the store. So they conned her into buying two new tires when she shouldn't need to. I'm incredibly disappointed in this type of customer service. I've always looked at discount and it's employees as very trustworthy folks. read more

Night and Day service depending on who you get to help you. I had a tire pressure monitor go out in my 2015 Silverado, so I called to see if there were any open appointments for the day, or if I could schedule one. I got Ferren on the phone, who would not make an appointment for me at all. Said he would take it as a walk in, and would not allow me to book an appointment, wouldn't even look to see what was free. This guy should not be working the phones. This made me call other local vendors and competitors. I was on my way to NTB to get the work done as they had availability, but decided to stop by Discount as it was on my way. Erick greeted me at Discount, and the level of service was the complete opposite, he was very attentive and personable, and accommodating. I brought in my own sensor (GM/ACDelco), he tested it at the desk so they didn't remove the tire and then find out it didn't work. Confirmed the sensor tested for me, and got me checked in in short order. Truck was done within 2 hour and I got the text to let me know it was ready. Then told it was on order and rescheduled for 1/30, and would get told if the part was in or not to be able to reschedule or come in. Heard nothing, call today and get told they don't have it yet and not sure if they can get it. Making an appointment means nothing. You still end up waiting for an hour. Then they will give you different stories to make them look good.

Stay away from this one. Other discounts are good but this one is where they sent trainees. I called 4 hours in advance for a simple rotation. Guy said " it's so slow, just come on in" so I did. Said it will be an hour, hour later and my car has not been seeen. Yet 3 people walked in after me WITHOUT appointments. Go to the one in round rock. Might be further but you'll be in and out quicker. If you want a rotation with an appointment, your looking at 2 plus hours at this location. Feel sorry for the franchise owner who owns this. Prayers to discount and all companies. Hope they get this location right. Good location, worst service in Austin. Also, a dude name hunter gave me a quote on 4 tires, I went to the round rock location and it was almost $300 cheaper for the same tires. And the giant windows into the work area are great to watch the people your paying sitting and playing on phone. Then when I tried to get my keys back I had to battle the dude. They gotta remember they don't know who there customers may know. But will never ever go back, rather push my car then deal with that service again. read more

This is the worst tire shop. I've had two bad experiences here. First, the technician who replaced my passenger-side rear tire stole a pin that holds the air in for my inflatable spare tire. I did not realized this until I had to put the spare tire on again after having my driver-side rear tire blown out. The last straw was this time...I came in on Monday and was told "Wednesday at the latest." It's Wednesday now and I haven't received a phone call from them regarding my appointment so I called them to set up an appointment. The person on the phone told me to come in on Friday at 11:30 AM. Friday comes, I went to check-in and was told that my appointment wasn't scheduled...And now here I am sitting in the waiting room. They told me it'll be done in an hour and a half. Never again.
