Ken is an OG who understands the refinishing game. There aren't a lot of options to choose from and it's good to know you're going to get what you pay for in a reasonable timeframe with someone who has seen it all. Austin Wheel Repair is the real deal. in 24 hours they took the tire off my Mercedes GLA, removed tire from wheel, welded the crack causing the air leak, ground and polished the weld, remounted the tire on the wheel, balanced and reinstalled for 1/4 the cost of a new wheel. I was told I would get my car the next day and 3 days later I get it, I was told I would get a discount and all he did was mark up the price then charge me normal price even though I had pictures showing a the "discount" he had given me for taking too long...overall I would never ever recommend this place and will make sure everyone knows how poor the customer service was....I was the one that had to call daily to get an update. read more

I called Ken to have my wheel repaired from a curb that i had hit. When i called Ken he mad me set up and appointment then send him pictures of the wheel to see if he could fix it. He agreed. We agreed to a price. Long story short it was the worst experience I've ever had. He not only left my rim on worst shape then it was. But then when i asked him if he was going to make it right he got mad at me, told me he should have never taken the job. I just wanted my rim fixed professionally. I thought he was a legit business. In the end he charge me $240 dollars to give me back my rim with missing pieces and the wheel lock no longer stays on. He is horrible at customer service and he is a professional scam artist. Called to get a quote for polishing an aluminum wheel on my 2006 F250 Lariat....too good to replace as they are solid billet aluminum. The guy on the phone started whining how much work it is etc. I figure you should be in the business working hard to earn my money. I asked for an estimate to repair curb rash to my wheels. I submitted pictures. Got no response. Sentry a text asking if they had received the pictures. Got a response asking me to send pictures of the whole wheel. I did that and got an estimate of $1850 per wheel. Amazing. Others had quoted $100 a wheel. I asked if he thought we were replacing the wheels. Got no response. They obviously don't want the work. They could have been courteous and just said that. Id like to give this "business' a negative 10 if I could. I will be brief, I took my truck into this location based on reviews. Against my better judgement, I decided to leave my vehicle for the reconditioning of my wheels, BIG mistake! This place should be investigated by the FBI for racketeering. Once they get your vehicle, you're at their mercy as to when and what they do. Not satisfied at all! After trying to reason with "Ken" (futile) I needed my truck back so I paid. Upon leaving the vehicle started vibrating violently, I also notice an error light on my dash. This truck drove perfectly before Austin Wheel repair, as it had just been thru 120 point Toyota inspection 3 weeks before. After multiple trips to investigate my vibration Toyota, Firestone- Finally found out the cause of the vibration, a local tire shop suggested balancing the wheels, OK, I leave the truck. I get a call that they will not work on my wheel, and they refuse to touch it. I go back to see whats going on, the manager shows me a HUGE gouge taken out of the inside of the tire right at the wheel base. You can see where they rammed a flat head screw drive and damaged the tire. I have filed a complaint with the better business bureau and have pictures and receipts of all this. DO NOT do business with these people, you WILL regret it. *The work itself was not as advertised either, it looks like they spray painted over the old wheel. I see no reconditioning at all. HORRIBLE experience!!!!!! Horrible customer service; Horrible work performed; horrible completion timeline; horrible price, oh and then he has his thugs stand around as you try and speak with him. How many great things can I say about Ken and Austin Wheel Repair? Let me just summarize by saying he did an awesome job in a timely manner for a very reasonable price. If you have wheel-related work, go to Ken ... but know that he can do much more. I have a BMW Alpina B7, which is an an expensive and rather exotic car, and I try to maintain it meticulously. The wheels are in great condition, but I wanted the brake calipers painted. I went to Austin Wheel Repair because of the good reviews. I wasn't disappointed. Once Ken and I started talking, I presented him with the rest of my wish list, which included getting the brake calipers painted, the front bumper repainted (lots of rock chip damage), and the headlights and fog lights polished. Wow! He did an awesome job! The car's bumper and lights look like the car just came out of the dealer's showroom; and the red brake calipers have a deep, glossy shine that looks better than a factory finish.
