I thought I had already reviewed this place positively for their efficient operation, generous warranty &c. I've definitely used them to full satisfaction in the past. But now under Covid these guys really have their act together. You can make appointments online, check in with QR code, they allow you to roll your car into the bay and out again, you don't have to go into the waiting room for paperwork, and there are chairs outside. All their mechanics seem to wear face masks pretty much all the time. It's all perfect for a socially distanced operation. Can I give 6 stars? read more

Came during Covid, felt relatively safe but there was several times where I was within 6 ft of a masked employee. Masks seem required inside, although I saw one employee who didnt have his nose covered. It wasnt especially busy (I got here around 10 on a Saturday morning), and the customers mostly sat outside at least 6 ft apart. Manny helped me and was kind and friendly, which made me feel at ease. I drove up to check-in by rolling my window down and talking to someone, who directed me to park in a spot. Manny talked to me and looked at the tire, then I was able to wait in my car. Someone came out and asked me to drive into the bay, then Manny told me what was going on and we walked inside. There are plastic barriers between the employee and customer which is good. Unfortunately, the work stations are set up to where as a customer, I had to stand directly next to an employee at the next work station (see pic). This made me uncomfortable. During normal times you would walk around and look at the same screen, but now they have a separate computer screen showing through the plastic. Overall, I would definitely come here again because everyone was friendly, but I hope they continue to improve their Covid practices. read more

Friendly staff, efficient repairs; what more could you want? I came here after getting a screw in my tire. Since the screw was along the middle of the tire, they were able to repair it, and they did it for free! Two weeks later I had the bad luck of getting another screw in my tire. This one was on the side of the tire, so they were not able to patch it up. However, they were able to replace the tire with a similar model. Both times I walked in without an appointment and had to wait about an hour for the repair to be done, but they tell you that ahead of time and even send you a link to track the status of the service. They blast the AC in the waiting area, so make sure you bring a sweater. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about this place and the employees. I had a nail in my tire and wanted to see if it could be fixed without buying a new tire. I went in on the Friday before Labor Day so of course they were busy. I didn't have an appt but they got me in anyway. Once they had the tire patched they let me know it was FREE! If I could give this place zero stars I would due to there dishonesty. I had a nail in my tire (pretty close to the wall of the tire so I had a feeling that tire would need to be replaced) after the employee went to look at my car he told me I would need to replace the other three as well due to the tires would fail inspection because they were reading at a 3 and a 2. I just took my car to get serviced 3 months ago and the tires were at a 7 and 6. There is no way a tires life span can diminish that quickly in the course of 3 months. ( my car has less then 20000 miles on it and is barely driven) Due to what they were telling me I decided it would be best if I took my car to get a second and third opinion. I decided to take the chance a drive 30 minutes away to my regular mechanic, they where able to fix my tire with the nail in it and they took a look to see how my other tires where measuring. 2 ties came back at a 6 and the other one came back at a 5 and the tires I have should be good for a while longer, which is way above what discount tires was telling me. For good measure I did take my car to one more place to have a third opinion and they said the same thing, that my tires should be good for a while longer. I am disappointed that the employee at discount tires would be dishonest about the quality and state of my tire and attempt to make a buck and rip me off when the quality of my tires where perfectly fine. If you do not want to get scammed stay away from discount tires. read more

Wow with everything going on this pace is killing it. I had my truck indicator come on about low air pressure. They filled up my tire and found I had a heavy leak. I have been using Discount Tire for decades. Always pretty easy getting the tires I want. This is my first time at a Discount Tire in Texas and they are every bit as good as the ones I frequented back in California. I needed some new rear tires (my rears wear out so much quicker). Went into the store and was helped by Michael. It was very straight forward and only took a few days for the tires to arrive. Michael made me an appointment and I received an email as soon as my tires arrived. I returned for my appointment and was taken care of immediately. Overall, it took about 15 minutes and I was back in my car and on the road. I will unquestionably be back. And you have to love the free air service all Discount Tires provide. The BEST! One thing I will address is the website. I know exactly what tires I want, but when I went to the website, it wouldn't let me purchase them online which meant a trip to physical store. I couldn't order them online because the website said these tires don't go with my car. Yet, they are the exact tires I have had on my car since I bought it brand new seven years ago and I have always purchased these tires through Discount Tire. Yet, when I went into the store, Michael was able to look up my car with my phone number and could see the record of my previous purchases. So, why can't I log in, select the exact same tires that are on my car (that I have purchased through Discount Tire) and make the purchase myself. I could have avoided a trip to the store, made my own appointment time and just made one trip to the store when the tires arrived. I mentioned this to the person at the store and he seemed very disinterested in this. So I noticed I had 4 nails in one of my front tires and at least 1 in the other front. They had about 50% tread left, but were about 6 years old. I opted to get all new tires. I made an appointment on a Saturday and got right in. This was instrumental in being seen quick and cutting the line. The place was busy and after choosing tires, I was first in line automatically. The time frame was promised to be 1-1.5 hours. Everything was totally done in about 45 minutes. Very efficient and professional. Early this morning, after working my night shift I went into my car and noticed my tire indicator light was on. Immediately, I went to Discount tire and waited a few mins for them to open. Before opening, I observed a morning huddle/meeting, and right away everyone got in there "spots" and knew what to do. There was no chaos~ everyone knew their role and was on their game. The gentleman checked all my tires and noticed I needed my rear tire replaced so I agreed to have all tires replaced due to dry rot and just being poor traction tires. He got me in Yokohama's and I was out the door within 45 min. The tire shop was the last place I wanted to be after finishing a 12 hr shift, but honestly this Braker location is prob the only tire shop I would be happy to visit again for my tire needs. Ok guys, if you are needing tires or windshield wipers, I have found the spot , no need to go looking around and getting estimates. I did only because I needed a new battery so asked for the cost of their Michelin tires similar to the ones on my car now. They did and I told them I'll think about it, came to Discount Tires only to see their prices and order them and then make appointment to have the four put on and balanced when they had a spot opened . Well , when my turn in line came up. I got Cameron G and boy was I lucky. Came right out to my car, saw the ones I had on it now, looked up the price ........oh and beat the other place by $28.00 per tire. Great, fantastic, sign me up and let's make an appointment to have them put on. Cameron looked at me and said we could do it right now just had a cancellation. I said I had to pick up my husband in 45 minutes. His answer no worry they will be done and Cameron was oh so correct. Tires on, balances, new wiper blades and off I went and actually had to wait 15 minutes until my husband was done. Now you just cannot beat that, the price, the service, the total package. All the guys there were friendly to all that they were taken care of. Now I have dealt with Discount Tires before ,but you know you just have to check out other places. I made an online appointment for 1 pm on a Friday afternoon to get two tires replaced, and by 1:21 I was on my way. Three hours later I found a nail sticking out of my brand new tire. I hadn't paid extra for the road hazard certificate, but they said all tires come with a 30 day warranty and they replaced the tire for free. That replacement was a Saturday morning walk-in (no appointment) at 9:30 a.m. and they still got me out by 9:52. I stopped by the Austin store at Braker Lane and Burnet road because one of my tires was low (not flat). The mechanic at the "free air check" informed me that the tire could be fixed, but I needed to go inside the store to register. Upon doing so, I was greeted by a young man who told me that he would look at car. It took him less than 5 minutes to come back and tell me that it could not be fixed, and how he could sell me new tires. Now mind you, all of my tires are brand new, as well as the full sized spare. But he refused to fix the tire or put on the spare simply because I didn't want to buy your tires. You all should be ASHAMED of yourself! You obviously care more about making money than the safety of your customers! The switch and bait is one of the most unscrupulous methods of ill business practices! Dropped in here since I happen to drive by it (my usual store is the Parmer one), and the service was just as friendly and quick. If you don't already have it, get their warranties for all your tires even if you didn't buy it from them. You get free rotations, tire balance, air checks, and flat fixes. Even if you aren't their customer, you can drive into their air check bay and they'll check your air pressure for you (and fill them if they're low). If you're going in for service, make an appointment if you can so you can get your car in next otherwise a lot of times there can be a long wait time. read more

I dropped off a flat tire that was unrepairable. The replacement tire was out of stock. They did a great job getting me a new tire from their warehouse and installed it the next day. However they failed to secure the spare in the cargo area by not replacing the cover. I had to do that myself and secondly they neglected to top off the air pressure in the other 3 tires to match the air pressure in the new tire. Specifically the air pressure in the new tire was 38 but the air pressure in the other 3 tires was only 33. So I had to drive back the next day to even out the air pressure. read more
