My tire had a slow leak and once a week i have been going to another location and all they did at the other location was fill my tire up even after letting them know my situation. I went to get my air in my tires and absolutely no one helped me. The air section was covered by a trailer and no one told me where to go. I had to park and get out where someone finally came out and told me to park behind the trailer and then I would be helped. I waited 30 minutes and not one person in sight. No one came out and gave me a time estimate, or apologized for the wait. Two people showed up after me and both left due to the long wait. Always had good service at Discount Tire in Scottsdale 85251. ALWAYS! This Discount in Avondale in the 85392 not so much. I drive a distance to work & have had some (2) tire repairs at this Discount in Avondale in the last 12 months & the experience while painfully slow was fine. Nothing to write home about but S-L-O-W. My husband takes my car for a purchase of 2 new tires, a rotation & yet another nail plug. 3rd repair of different 3 tires & it was def not the charm. The tire they "repaired" blew on the I-10 S. at the curve near 36th St. in 4 p.m. traffic on a Monday. So it's back to the Discount after losing 1.5 hours on a Monday mid day like I said S-L-O-W. Chuck whom worked on the previous plug offered the hubs a new tire for the trouble & sends him on his way after another 60 minutes. Only for him to turn out onto 99th ave. 1/8 of a block maybe to have the sensor that tells you the tire is low come on. But not only come on but blink. Never have we seen a blink on that sensor. The front desk jockey (they are closed now btw he was the last car) tell him his "battery is low". The hubs insists that someones going to look at it. So the hubs watches as the front desk jockey goes across the bays to grab Chuck the guy that worked on it. Chuck calls over another tech not a manager & goes over to the car. The hubs meets them & Chuck bends over the closest tire to him & says to the hubs your sensor is broken. We'll have to order you another & it will be in by 2 p.m. tomorrow. We'll pay for it & install it. So basically Chuck is either clairvoyant since there was no inspection or he let the hubs leave knowing he had broken the sensor. Don't get me wrong crap happens. Everybody has a bad day. I get that. But not to take responsibility at all. Not to involve a manager is just ridiculous & shows a lack of character on both the tech & the hiring staff. I get to return to this establishment not today (because the part didn't come in) but soon & get a sensor fixed by a company I no longer trust nor can I recommend after 11+ years of service in Scottsdale. I have been going to this location for awhile. Not anymore. Bought 4 new tires about 3 weeks ago. Got a flat made appointment came in to find i did not have tire repair. When i came in last time ( even though I purchase this each time) the guy did not ask me. The guy who was helping me today informed me that the guy who helped me last time was not in. OK. SOOOOO. Instead of saying we will take care of this tire ( he did go back and see that I had purchased the service before) he made me feel that i was unable to get his. For months I have had issues with my tires losing air and have had to put air in at least once a week. I went through the process of elimination... maybe it's the weather changes, maybe I messed up taking the pressure, etc.. finally I took my car to Discount Tire because I have always received excellent service at the other stores I have been to. At the front they were nice but doing that thing that most car shops and dealers do where they don't really talk to you like you have a clue because apparently only men deserve to be taken seriously when discussing cars. A little over half an hour later someone comes out and tells me there's no leaks but I need to pay more attention to my tires because the air was low.... no crap, that's why I thought there was a leak because tires just don't continually get low so you have to put air in every week unless something is wrong. I tried to explain the problem again and the guy walked away while I was in the middle of my sentence. I tried to ask about pricing tires and he was basically shooing me out of the door. I guess he forgot he works in sales/customer service. I will never go to this location again and would definitely not recommend it to anyone, especially not women unless you enjoy being talked down to by misogynistic males who need remedial lessons in how to provide actual customer service. read more

My car notified me that my air pressure was altered somehow driving into Phoenix. Watched the tire for a few hours to see if something was wrong. Looked fine, didn't realize I had a screw in my tire. Woke up the next day to a flat. Got the spare out replaced it and drove over to discount. I went in with a screw in my tire not knowing they did repairs like that for FREE! Was expecting to have to pay and was waiting for the initial "you are gonna need to buy new tires today" routine you get when you go elsewhere. I was surprised how nice and friendly these guys are. With that said I did have to wait for a bit as that goes with anyplace you are getting/paying for a service. Overall this place and the staff was outstanding! They even put the tire back on and didn't charge me a penny. Maybe everybody else knew this already but was a surprise to me. I hope all the discount tire places are as nice as this one. Even saw the manager outside help customers, as we all know the manager usually sit in the office and delegates down things to do. SUPER IMPRESSED with this location. Worth the wait! read more

Today i had one of my service technicians stop by the Avondale location to have one of our company trailer tires aired up that was a little low. when my technician pulled up to the tire check spot he was told by a discount employee that he could not air up the tire because" his air machine said there was a leak in the tire and it will not inflate the tire". this is lie #1! then the discount employee takes the tire off of the trailer and takes the tire off the rim and proceeds to tell my technician that once he checked the tire its to old to air up and or repair and its against company policy to do so any he has to replace it...lie #2. my technician tells him thats fine just air it up and put it back on the trailer...the discount employee continues to press my tech to replace the tire and he continues to say he will not put it back on the trailer its company policy... after about 45 minutes of wasted time we get the manager involved and the tire gets put on and aired up no problem....everytime i go to discount tire i feel that i am going to get taken advantage of over the smallest little issue with my tire i feel like road kill and they are circling like buzzards!!! when i have my tires replaced on my truck / trailer fleet i will personally avoid this franchise location for Discount tire. read more

Fast, friendly, and great customer service! Today is my fifth time coming with a tire issue in the past year and for the fifth time this store has been incredibly helpful. I heavily use my vehicle for work, travel, and camping so no wonder I go through so many tires. Today I discovered a screw in my side wall and of course that means a whole new tire. Since I don't believe in warranties I was gonna have to buy a brand new tire. Tim one of the sale associates talked to John the store manager and they were able to lend me a loaner for the week and sell me a brand new tire for $90.00. Nearly a month ago my low tire pressure light came on, brought it to Discount Tire to have them help me reset the light and they aired it up - they offered to check it out but I was in a hurry. Fast forward to yesterday, I noticed he same tire had lower presser then the others. Called D.T set me up with the earliest appointment slot they had which was the next day at 11am. Showed up 10 minutes early, I was in and out in less then an hour minutes. Come to find out I had a small nail in my tire - they added a plug to the tire and sealed it up, set it in water to make sure it was sealed. They handed me the the receipt - told me have a nice day. Rude tech, I was waiting for tire repairs outside the store, standing next to a Fancy Mustang under a sun shade, touched the car & out comes a tech from the tire bay & hollers at me for touching it,never said a word to the 13 yr old for him opening the door, but since I am 76 yrs old I guess he does not like OLD people, then to hold a grudge at me he changed the radio station & turned it up loud,he was the tech that backed the car out of the tire bay. read more

I started using Discount Tire Co almost 20 years ago. Since then our entire family uses Discount Tire Co. You can't beat the fact that you can get a warranty on your tires and guaranteed they'll fix your flat or give you a new tire entirely. They are all friendly and courteous. I only have a few issues but overall I still give him a five star rating. Every time I go I usually have chrome valve stem covers when I show up but either plastic ones or they're missing entirely when I leave. Again it's not that big of an issue being that the only cost about 5 bucks but still. I also had an issue with them losing my Gorilla locks for my rims but being the friendly company and courteous as they are they replaced the Gorilla locks at a prorate. So again the pros over come the cons and would not like to go anywhere else other than Discount Tire Co. I have four cars in the family and every single one of them are serviced by Discount Tire Co. read more

I go into Discount Tire on 8/11/12 and get three of my tires replaced. The other tire was fairly new. They took the tires off and moved the old tire to the front right. When I left there my car was making a noise and there was rubbing when I put the breaks on. I went back and told them about it. Well, needless to say, they told me it may be my brakes. I went and purchased new brake pads for the front. We replaced them even though it turns out that they have very little wear on them. I took the car back again. I was told to take it over to Brakes Plus. This morning I went there and it turns out that nothing is wrong with the brakes. Instead it turns out to be the tire on the right front. When they switched it to the back everything went back to normal. They told me the tire was defective. I took my car back to Discount again!!! I bought the tire from them. They ended up replacing it for free. They told me that they are going to resell the tire as used. Look out everyone you may indeed be buying my old defective tire. Also, when I was quoted the price for the other tires I was told that it included the warranty. I told them that is was going to price them. He told me that Walmart will charge extra for the warranty. I went and the price was a little less but I figured that with the warranty from Discount I would be getting a good deal. I find out today that the warranty they included in the price is the manufacturer warranty. You have to pay an extra $14. per tire for the free replacement one. So also be careful on what they tell you because it may not be all the information that you should be getting. read more

Just when I told myself that I wasn't going to go to Discount Tire anymore, there customer service (at 99th ave) changes my mind. Two weeks ago, to save a couple of bucks I purchased a set of tires at a small tire shop. This morning my wife ran over a drill socket that stuck in the tire and it went flat. I guess small tire shop means no road hazard warranty. To make things worse the small tire shop forgot to put my key back in my car so I couldn't change the tire. To make a long story short the small tire shop wanted to charge me $10 more for a new tire. That's when I called Discount. Horrible service in the back end. All i go for is a tire pressure check and fill. Every time i go they only have 1 guy servicing while around 5 cars wait for air. The reason i am giving one star however is their total lack of awareness for whats around them. Last week i came to discount tires and pulled right up to the air check and shut my engine off. There were alot of guys in the shop some would just look at my car and look away i watched the time and sat there 12 minutes before i honked so they knew i was here. Again ignored. I waited 5 more minutes before i got out of the car and walked straight up to one of them and asked for help. They were too busy pulling cars into the shop and using profane language and flipping each other off while pulling the cars up. Totally not work appropriate. Where is the manager at?? They must have had a big issue withe walking up to them in their shop but almost 20 minutes of waiting is just ridiculous and i had places to be. The guy just told me to wait and theyd be right with me. But at least 3 guys were just standing around. Then they came over filled up my air and told me to wait it out about 10 miles for the light to shut off. It didnt shut off. I ended up just taking it to my dealership and i told them what they said and they laughed. They said that the light shuts right off if done correctly and it was off when i left that dealership. Ive been to this discount tires location 2 times now for air and i am just not impressed. It doesnt seem like any of the guys know how to fill the air. Firat time i went they filled up the tires too much and the dealership had to fix it. And this time he didnt even check what levels the tires needed to be at ao there wasnt enough air. I wont be back if i can help it. Ill just call the manager if this happens again. read more

We've been buying tires at this location for years and the service has plummeted this last year. Waiting to get free air checks is a lesson in patience even though there are many technicians milling around. The desk staff is less than concerned about their level of customer service. I would of gave them 5 starts but they dropped the ball. I went in yesterday to get a pair of tires, they only had 1 in Stock so they put it on and I was told that the 2nd would be delivered the next day. So I went in today and the tire wasn't delivered because the driver for the delivery service didn't show up for work, "who would of figured since it was Friday night" last night.
