The place is a bit outdated and a little dirty. But, it is a tire shop. So that is ok. I walked up to the counter to talk to the man behind it. He was on the phone, so I can wait. But, he never acknowledged me. Never looked my direction. Never gave me a "one second" finger. Never said, "I'll be right with you." I got nothing. So, I stood there for almost 10mins. He kept talking on the phone (to what sounded like a customer, so he was doing his job). But, again, I am standing in front of him and nothing! So I left. I cannot comment on anything else because this was my only (non)interaction. I am sure they do their tire job well, but this was an unfortunate experience. I don't plan on returning, esp. because I know there is another tire shop 3mins away (Plaza Tire Service, whom I did go to and did excellent). So, nothing personal. Just a bad experience.

I took my truck to the shop a few weeks ago told them there was a squeaky noise, when I spoke with…read morethem on the phone they stated they would look at it free of charge. They call me tell me the noise that I was hearing was from my big tires on my truck and charge me for a tire rotation, which I never agreed for them to do. I get to the shop asked them if they would ride with me to hear the noise I was originally talking about. To their surprise, they heard the noise I was originally referring to.I tell them what I think it might be and I left the truck with them to look at it again. I've attached the estimate they gave me to fix what "the issue was". My husband looks at it because he said there's no way that noise could be from what they stated. And what did he find out, sure enough all it was was broken brake clips. This cost me roughly $12 I think to replace. The whole point to this post is to say, wait let your husband look at it or you can just take it to the shop like I did get charged for something it didn't need and then get lied to about an expensive unnecessary repair. Also,I've learned that even though this is 2024 we are still in the 1900s Era where men think women don't know crap.

This has not happened. Regrettably my confidence in University Auto has completely eroded. University Auto has proven, yet again, they lack integrity. They have maliciously created a consistent pattern of incorrect and misleading diagnoses and substandard mechanical knowledge, leading to botched costly repairs and damage to my jeep. This recurring cycle of fraudlent misrepresentation of work has not only left me with unwarranted inconveniences but left my jeep with unresolved consistent mechanical issues and a significant financial burden resulting in an inoperable vehicle.

I called about 5 hours later to check the status and was told oil change had been completed and waiting to check brakes. A few minutes later I was contacted that my car was ready with no problems found. He explained that there was over 60% of the pads left in the front and 80% on the rear. That would be fantastic news if the brakes didn't grind! They test drove and couldn't duplicate the problem. The problem did continue for me driving home. I appreciate they didn't want to do work that wasn't necessary, but service advisor did not care to listen to what I thought might possibly cause the noise. I explained my car had previously been in an accident and had front suspension parts replaced. I suggested it might possibly be a loose pad or calipers loose or hanging up but he blew it off as a sensor. I didn't get the feeling that my problem was worth looking at beyond checking the pads for thickness and diagnosis fee. I basically was charged 204.00 for an oil change including their 3.5% credit card use included. After using my debit card I noticed the fee so changed and wrote a check for 197.00. Maybe it's me, a little confusing thinking debit card is the same as cash (most places). They did however only refund 197.00 of the 204.00 charged. So we are back to 204.00 for an oil change (to be fair, I got my preferred oil) and to be told my brakes are great. I have had people recommend your shop to me in the past and decided to give your shop a try with my brakes issue, but will never recommend or be back. Enjoy your 7 bucks credit card fee you kept, it will give me enjoyment in telling everyone I can of my experience and waste of time and money using your business. Update: I did reach out to Doug, but after emailing back and forth I am unsure he understands my frustrations of getting my brake problem blown off. It was my understanding I was paying for a true evaluation of what is causing the grinding noise. What I received is a free tire store look at the remaining brake pads. My option is they just don't care to do anything beyond the quick and easy $$, or care to listen to their customers. I never plan to return, trust is gone.
