I called about 5 hours later to check the status and was told oil change had been completed and waiting to check brakes. A few minutes later I was contacted that my car was ready with no problems found. He explained that there was over 60% of the pads left in the front and 80% on the rear. That would be fantastic news if the brakes didn't grind! They test drove and couldn't duplicate the problem. The problem did continue for me driving home. I appreciate they didn't want to do work that wasn't necessary, but service advisor did not care to listen to what I thought might possibly cause the noise. I explained my car had previously been in an accident and had front suspension parts replaced. I suggested it might possibly be a loose pad or calipers loose or hanging up but he blew it off as a sensor. I didn't get the feeling that my problem was worth looking at beyond checking the pads for thickness and diagnosis fee. I basically was charged 204.00 for an oil change including their 3.5% credit card use included. After using my debit card I noticed the fee so changed and wrote a check for 197.00. Maybe it's me, a little confusing thinking debit card is the same as cash (most places). They did however only refund 197.00 of the 204.00 charged. So we are back to 204.00 for an oil change (to be fair, I got my preferred oil) and to be told my brakes are great. I have had people recommend your shop to me in the past and decided to give your shop a try with my brakes issue, but will never recommend or be back. Enjoy your 7 bucks credit card fee you kept, it will give me enjoyment in telling everyone I can of my experience and waste of time and money using your business. Update: I did reach out to Doug, but after emailing back and forth I am unsure he understands my frustrations of getting my brake problem blown off. It was my understanding I was paying for a true evaluation of what is causing the grinding noise. What I received is a free tire store look at the remaining brake pads. My option is they just don't care to do anything beyond the quick and easy $$, or care to listen to their customers. I never plan to return, trust is gone. read more

We have had repair work done they and when a part failed they had no issue replacing the part for free! Straightline Automotive is an excellent repair facility. We are traveling cross country and had been plagued by over heating problems. After two other attempts at fixing the problem it was still there. We called Straightline to see if they could get us in on a Friday afternoon. They made room for us and were able to figure out the issue and get it fixed...all before 5 pm. They did a great job and got us back on the road. I just moved to Arkansas so when my car broke down , I had my car towed to Straightline because it was close. My radiator was completely cracked. I was given a $2000.00 estimate for a repair after I had already spent $200 at another shop. This shop knew they could get me to believe that repair was what I needed and instead they told me it was a simple repair for $53.00! I have brought my car here for check ups and each time been told my car with 95,000 miles on it was not in need of anything being done. I purchased some tires online and had them delivered to this shop. When the tires were delivered, they contacted me right away to schedule a time to bring my car in. The price of the install came in lower than what was quoted and they worked quickly. I was worried the staff would make us feel bad for ordering online instead of with them but they were not worried about it. I would recommend you give them a try. Was suggested to this shop online as I just moved to the area and had honest and reliable shop back home I tried to find the same. The first time I went in for an oil change, tire rotation and another thing done. I was told their rotation machine was down; not the end of the world. Got the quote prior then went to pick it up with an additional charge on the receipt that didn't make sense and was not stated. They took it off no questions asked which I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt; but knew most people don't look at their receipt. Made an appointment the week prior, and was told the incorrect date of the appointment. I remember the date specifically as I was hoping to get it in sooner but figured it would work anyways and put it in my calendar. Moved my whole day around, got a ride together to pick me up. I essentially moved around multiple people schedules and didn't get my car serviced. Over all just disappointed in the reliability of this shop. I felt as though they tried to slide a charge in that I caught, then told me the wrong date for an appointment that I really needed which ruined that whole opportunity. I had my family going here; and refereed service to my coworkers, I will be changing that now. read more
