After some troubleshooting, Jose determined I had a cracked transmission case. Jose quickly changed the bad case and fixed the leak for a great price! Then they said the warranty covered the part but not the labor to replace it. They wanted to charge $900 more. They already replaced another part and charged us $168 labor. That was not the problem causing the leak. So effectively they replaced a broken transmission with a defective one and it cost us a total of $4568 for a leaky transmission.

My skid plate could have caught on something and ripped the plastic off on the bottom of my vehicle or could have lodged up underneath potentially damaging expensive components like the oil pan, transmission, transmission pan.
