I have been to discount Tire before in the past with no problems, but my most recent experience was an absolute nightmare! The only reason I even went to them in the first place was because they carried the brand of tire that I was looking for. I went in and asked them to order the tires that I needed requesting that they were an exact match to the two tires that were on the front of my vehicle. The gentleman ensured me after walking out to my car taking down all of the information that I would be receiving an exact match to the tires already on my vehicle. Once I came back to have them put on I ended up having to wait two and a half hours for them to change my tires which is by the way not my complaint. When I came back to pick up my car after they told me that it was finished they had two tires on the front of my vehicle that looked like they should have been on a monster truck! After I pointed it out to the gentleman at the counter he told me, oh yeah I thought that it looked kind of funny when I walked by it!!? Why he wouldn't have made sure that they were the correct tires after thinking that it looked wrong? I have no idea! He ensured me that they did have the correct tires, and that if I just waited 20 minutes that he would get it taken care of. Once they were finished I got my paperwork, went out to my car and only glanced at my tires, since it was pouring down rain, I mean surely they couldn't screw up again right!? Wrong!!! I woke up the next morning only to realize that they were the wrong tires again! After leaving multiple messages I finally got a call back after 3 or 4 days, at which time, Cody, I believe was his name, tried to figure out why I still hadn't gotten the correct tires, only to discover that the tires that I had previously had, had been discontinued, I should have been told that they were discontinued the first time I came into the store not after having to go back and forth three different times and have them screw up every time! Had I known that they were discontinued I would have just bought 4 new tires in the first place instead of wasting my time trying to make it in on a Saturday since the hours that I work prevent me from being able to make it in during the week and they aren't open on Sundays! Cody offered to give me one free tire if I bought 1 new one, but he still wanted me to pay for the labor, balancing, and mounting of that free tire. I asked him if he could also credit the labor, mounting, and balancing of the supposed free tire. When I asked this he was very rude and she said do you really think that's fair, I mean I guess if you think it's fair then I suppose I could do it! I shouldn't have even had to buy a third Tire in the first place, because if he would have told me initially that he wasn't able to get the same tires I would have gone through the one other company who told me they could match my tires for about $25 a tire more than what Discount Tire was going to charge me. I ended up spending $260 more than I had planned on my one "free" tire! this place was an absolute joke! I still don't feel that what they "gave" me made the hassle I went through right. Not only all of that, they never even called to tell me when my second set of tires came in! I know this is a tire shop, but would a little bit of professionalism kill them? read more

I used to always go to Les Schwab, but for some reason decided to do a little research before getting new tires this time. While I did not directly compare tire prices, I do think I got a very good deal at Discount Tire. I worked with Jeff, who was great. He went over a couple of different tire options. When the one I wanted did not fit w/in my budget--and I asked if he could do anything to bring down the price--he said that they could split the cost of the warranty (they'd cover two of the tires at their own cost), and he also mentioned that if we did their 6-month-same-as-cash deal, that we'd get a $50 rebate. This was in addition to the $70 rebate we also got on the tires. In the end, we got great tires for the price we'd budgeted, just by asking for a good deal. I was a Les Schwab girl for years, but am glad that I looked elsewhere for my tires this time. read more

Pulled in to get a nail pulled from my tire. Guy can out and immediately tried to sell me tires telling me he couldn't fix the tire. Went to Les Schwab and they said the tire was fine and fixed it for free without the sales pitch. Don't waste your time with these guys. These guys are rock stars. My husband, baby, and I were just about to head north for the weekend with our trailer in tow and noticed the trailer had a flat. These guys were swamped but they took the time to help us out and replace our tire so fast you would have thought they were our pit crew in a race! I've bought two sets of tires here, purchased one set online and the other in store. Easy to setup an installation appointment (highly recommended) for faster service. They price matched Costco and even corrected the in store Tire price to match their online price. The staff is energetic, upbeat, positive, can do attitude makes getting tires a piece of cake. My only negative comment is to train the installer staff to check the manufacturer label for correct air pressures. One car I had done, the front tires were 5 lbs too low with the rear tires 5 lbs too high and my other car had the rears 5 lbs too high. read more

My prior rebalance here left a jarring vibration in my steering column that was more pronounced with downhill curves and turns (not a break issue). The tech who handled my exit paperwork said he 'never heard of such a thing' with such a stone-cold expression that I found astonishing. Vagina or not, I was both a moto and auto courier for a number of years and know my vehicles' nuances. Thankfully, this latest rebalance has rectified the issue. In addition, the waiting rooms are always small slices of hell. I'd really like to see an improvement at all locations that attends to the comfort of their clients. Beginning with an actual separate restroom from the employees that doesn't require walking through the loud and filthy shop with oil-covered floor dodging metal debris and touching oil-covered handles would be a good start. On the positive, aside from the last rebalance issue, I've been happy with my various tire purchases through the years throughout various states with free flat fixes, rebalance maintenance and (though offered, never used) complimentary air checks. I have bought several tires from America's tire and have always found them to be fairly priced with a quality product. I always pay the few extra bucks for the extended coverage and have never regretted it. They fix my flats for free and rotate the tires at interval and I can't even give them a tip.. I had done exhaustive research on tires so I knew what I wanted. They didn't have the exact tires I wanted but had comparable ones with good reviews and at a lower price which saved me $200. I was given a quote over the phone and was grateful to learn that I could be serviced without an appointment so drove right over. The shop was clean and I only had to wait a few minutes. They installed my new tires within the estimated time. The only reason I didn't give them a five rating is because they seemed a bit rushed but in all fairness, I hadn't made an appointment. read more

Went here to get two new tires as I couldn't afford to do all four at the moment. In spite of being a Saturday and with no appointment, I was attended to very quickly and they didn't try and sell me more tires when I said I only wanted two that day. Picked up car in about an hour. Overall good price, good customer service and convenient location. THE BAD: The technicians scuffed the wheel arches a bit with their tools, I'm assuming when they tried to get the plastic wheel covers off and had to pry around. Very frustrating but I will remove them next time and recommend doing so to others. OTHER than that, a great place to get your tires, will be going again. read more

we always go to America's Tire...usually used to use the one in Gresham, but Saturday went to the one on 82nd/Sunnyside in Clackamas, was ONLY planning on 2 tires, as we knew we couldnt afford 4..but Jae made us a deal, 4 tires for $350 and a $100 rebate so that's $50 a tire for new tires...not only that..but we had asked they put one of our old tires on our rim for a spare and they said legally they couldnt cuz the tires were so old ....so when we got back i was a bit disappointed they said NO PROBLEM and gave us a 5th matching tire FREE, on the rim and put it back under our blazer in like 5min..how many tire places do that? plus they were really nice and apologetic and JAE was really good looking! :) plus free rotating, free flat fixes, free balancing, free air, all that...well worth our time and effort and money..cant say that about alot of places these days...you wont be disappointed coming here, i dont write reviews UNLESS i truly believe these things.! .... read more

Hands down the BEST consumer experience that I've ever had. They offer a wide variety of excellent products in a wide price range, and the customer service is the very best customer service I've ever experienced. I did some thorough research because I needed a new set of tires on a painfully tight budget. Discount tires beat the pants off of all the competition: WalMart wanted $120 more for the EXACT same set of tires, Les Schwab wanted $130 more. I walked in there as a single female, all by myself, feeling nervous because I just wasn't sure which brand was the best one while still being in my severely limited budget. Mckenzie helped me find a set of tires that are beautifully safe and slightly below my maximum price range. I was in and out in less than 25 minutes on a Saturday afternoon when they were insanely busy. Mckenzie is clearly an expert in his field. He takes the time to actually take care of his customers - he's pleasant, honest and friendly while still being efficient.
