I have been going to this specific Discount Tire for many years. I started because the wifey worked at the IHOP next door, so I could visit while my vehicle was getting worked on. I have always been treated nicely. Always got a good value for the quality tires I bought. Never had an issue. One time, the day before Hurricane Rita was coming, I got a flat tire just before closing time. I called and told them I could not be there until 10 minutes after closing. They said bring it in, and they would get it fixed. I got there and it was like NASCAR. They got a whole team of guys on my car, changed out all the valve stems, and had me back on the road in around 10 minutes. I wrote their corporate a letter of thanks. I go here no matter what. He spoke to his supervisor and was able to get my car in and the tire fixed in time for me to make my appointment. Went in for my free tire rotation on Ford F150. They could rotate tires but, I needed new lug nuts for $200. Two part nuts are used on many vehicles and when installed with impact wrench they get distorted or "swell up" making it hard to use your standard lug wrench to change a flat if not impossible to get off. I ordered 1 part nuts(Mc****) from Rock for less than half the cost discount wanted. I will install myself using torque wrench instead of impact gun. Most tire shops use impacts because it's faster and time is money. I imagine they would use new two part lugs again so they can have repeat customers with the same problem and keep making money. Usually this store is reliable and prompt. I've got six cars in rotation and wanted to share today's experience. I've learned to be patient with inventory shortages with better brands like Michelin, so I ordered four new Saturday. I rolled in at 10:20 am and paid cash for the transaction. It's 11:11am and I've been the only person in the store for 40 mins. I count 4 guys and four bays open. Priority seems to be cell phone breaks and the tire pressure check. Currently six customers standing around and one rep at the computer. Might try a different location moving forward... Update. I'm back. Drove home to find a missing Center Cover, and two wheels dinged. $99 for a new Center cover. The Mgr did agree to reimburse me for the part, but I'm another 50 mins before truck went back in. Just left discount tire (Kemah/Clear Lake location) the "Assistant Manager" came out to my vehicle. They did not have the same tire so he offered me a Larger tire. He said it would fit the rim and everything it would just be a little bigger than the other 3. Elderly and Ladies beware of what people are telling you!!! I bought rims and tires from this place. I have been a customer of Discount Tire for decades. The beautiful thing about DT is that there are literally 1000 locations around the United States that can help you or stand behind their warranty. I recently came into this location to have a tire fixed. I drive a fleet vehicle and the last set of tires were purchased at a different national chain (not my choice). One of the assistant managers, Chandler, was very willing to help me. He still fixed the leak for me free of charge even though the tires were not purchased from them. It was around lunch time so I left my car with them and walked across the parking lot to one of the many fast food restaurants to eat (Chick-Fil-A, Wendy's, Taco Cabana to name a few). In about 30 minutes, I received a text message from the store telling me my car was ready. I wasn't even finished eating and my car was ready. As a long time customer of Discount Tire, I can tell you that there are times when you wait longer. They are closed on Sunday so naturally, Monday is going to be a very busy day. Naturally, Saturday is also a busy day. They can set appointments and I personally think they try their best to honor the appointment time. However, the world isn't perfect and sometimes you just have to wait. As I mentioned above, Chandler was a big help to me so I would suggest you ask for him. Bottom line - A national chain with 1000 locations. They can stand behind their warranty at any location around the country. Same customer service at every location. The on line process to buy tires at your local shop is very good, while on line. The tires showing in stock that I purchased were not actually in stock. You just don't find that out until you show up for the appointment you set. At check in I was not informed that the tires were not in stock. They gave me an estimated time for completion so I walked next store for a quick cup of coffee and a bite. Upon my return my truck was in a different spot than where I left it, but was told that the tires I bought were not in stock as promised. They were going to provide me with upgraded tires according to the staff. So I sat down and waited for 45 minutes watching my truck not move and other vehicles being brought in. The staff was so focused on the new customers coming in that none of them were available for questions. Finally, I walked out to my truck to find that it had new tires on it. Obviously put on before I was informed of the issue with the original tires. When I came back in from my truck, a little upset, they asked was there something they could do for me. When I told them that I was not informed of the truck being done, they gave me the keys and said they had called my name. I was in the shop the entire time after being told they would need to do different tires. So the upgrade was nice but I wasted 45 minutes of my day waiting on a vehicle that was already done. Once again Discount Tire did a fantastic job for me! The staff are always very helpful and polite. This location did not fail in this. The techs on the shop floor are also very friendly and go the extra mile to connect with the customer, especially when they appreciate a vehicle. A nice extra touch: I came at the end of the work day and they were fairly swamped. The agent I dealt with took the extra measure to apologize for the slight delay in getting to me and again apologized when everything was completed. I do appreciate that and it makes the slight wait even less a problem. The facility is clean and looked very efficient. When a special order is required (as in my case) they find the tire and they promptly follow up to schedule the install. When I move back to Canada I'm going to sorely miss this company. Took one of my vehicles up there to get the tires I PURCHASED there rotated , the technician met me at the door with his little clipboard in hand. When I told him what service I needed he advised me they were only conducting essential operations. This is the thing , I completely understand we are in a corona virus shit show but there was not one vehicle in the bays . And I counted 7 workers standing around talking , not including the 3-4 inside at counters . I left and went to NTB , when I explained to the lady at the counter she could not believe and went to tell her manager at which time came out and advised me they would not charge me to rotate. He also provided us with a quote an confirmed the tires were available. Upon arriving on Thursday for my appointment, Christian was there and very helpful. There were several guys inside checking in with people as they walked in and making sure everyone got assistance. The quote was spot on, the tires were in stock and he shared it would be 45 minutes or less since I had an appointment!
