Came in for help putting air in a low tire that was holding air. Waited nearly an hour, then was told they wouldn't put air in it and that I needed a full service instead. Inside, I was pressured toward replacing all four tires--even though they were replaced recently. I left, I went home filled my air compressor and brought back to Discount tire and in the parking lot filled the tire myself, and it inflated and held air just fine. That confirmed my concern that this was unnecessary escalation rather than actual safety. Not a good experience and not confidence-inspiring. read more

First off let me say 5 star service is not enough stars for the rating they deserve here at Plainfield discount tire. When I go there it is usually a dire situation and they always address my issue. I had a bad front tire with belts coming thru the rubber of course they offer easy financing which I declined because I know my approval rating is low they don't pressure me beyond asking the first time. I also had the wrong tires on my vehicle for the factory installed not only did Eli and Phil make sure I had the correct tire for my vehicle they went above and beyond for the service they provided to me today. If you're a young woman and in your 20s, I suggest you go with your father brother boyfriend friend somebody that is a man first of all. I understand it's busy season and everyone wants their tires done. I know that the appointments are booked out so you would think that if you show up when they open at like 8 AM and let them know hey I have an appointment at 11 AM. Will you be able to get these done by then and they say of course, we'll have it done in plenty of time. At 10:25 I went up to the desk and I said if you don't think it can be done by 10:40 then I'm sorry I need to leave. They said it's up next and it will be done in 10 to 15 minutes 30 minutes later I'm still sitting here at 11 AM. I had missed my appointment and they couldn't care less. I went up to the desk for the third time and they said can we help you with something like they seemed annoyed that I was in a rush, but mind you I've been waiting there for three hours at this point. I said well the tires be done soon and he said well you see your car on the dock don't you? That was rude. And they wasted my time I will never ever be coming here again. I had deflation issues, as most men my age, on my truck tires. I had to inflate one of the tires daily so I called Discount. Mike got me in as a walk in to take a look at them. I was expecting the worse--"your perfectly good tires all need to be replaced or else the Earth will fly into the sun destroying all humankind". But that was not it at all: St Mike called me to inform me that my tires were fine but just needed some cleaning up from oxidation on the rim! No charge! Not a dime! Problem solved! I chauffeur my elderly mother ("drivin' Ms. Cheryl") in her car and it was time to get new tires. Stopping at this store, there was a short line but a long waiting list -- we opted to make an appointment and returned the day after Christmas, yesterday. The line of customers was almost out the door, and at moments the staff were struggling to answer the phone. These guys work hard! But every individual we dealt with, on the initial visit too, was the picture of courtesy, efficiency, and professionalism. Our tires were replaced in just under 45 minutes, the exact time they'd told us. The waiting area (and restroom) was clean. The staff were polite, precise, attentive. My husband went into the store to get a flat tire replaced a couple days ago, had no issues. Fast forward to today and I had to go into the store to get my other tire swapped out. They we're able to pull up the receipt from the previous day and see what tire was needed. I went ahead and paid and sat down to wait. I looked at my receipt and noticed an extra charge. Realized it was an extra warranty for the tire that was added, which wasn't added by my husband the previous day. Today I was in a pinch and needed to figure out why my tire pressure light kept coming on after I would put air in my tires. I needed to drive back to Chicago within the next 4 hours and was ready to pay anything just so I could get on my way. Even though they were super busy they looked at my tires and told me there was a slow leak due to one of my rims being corroded. They fixed it up enough so I could deal with the issue for when I come back for Christmas break. THEY DIDN'T CHARGE ME ANYTHING!!! Well, the service was fast and the guys ultra kind! Besides that, they did not charge me at all. I came here on a whim and boy was I lucky. I tried to inflate my tires late in the winter and it had turned out my tire caps had fused onto the valve (metal caps). I had broke one of my valves (tpms) so I came here to get a replacement and the guys working were super nice and understanding and were even willing to negotiate a price in the event all 4 of my tpms sensors had to be replaced. They went out of their way to dremel all of the caps off and fixed the one I broke. Super affordable place and super great service. read more

I have purchased all tires for me and my company over the year's at this location Many thousands of dollars. I always made my employees go there obviously that does not matter. After looking at my account you would think wow this is a great customer. Went to have a a slow leak looked at and they would not even put air in the tire for liability reasons as well as repair it . There was enough tread to go another 10 k miles. To much protocol not enough customer service.I was the only customer in the showroom They thought they had a captive customer so the price was outrageous. Business 101 take care of a GOOD,LOYAL customer.They just lost all my business and company business.went to Belle Tire and now have a corporate account. I am a little disappointed to have to update this review based on my latest experience. I feel that the store has gone down in speed and quality. I brought my car in around 1 PM and was told they would text me when it's ready. The store closes at 6 so around 5:30 I started trying to call to ask if I could pick my car up that night or if I should arrange for transportation to work the next day. After being put on hold and disconnected twice, I called several more times and was given the voicemail. Then, at 6:42, I received a text saying my car was ready for pickup and to call the store with any questions. So I called and, once again, voicemail. Um??? It's fine to be busy and I understand having to wait, but not being able to get ahold of the people who have my vehicle is ridiculous. They were clearly understaffed from what I saw when I was there. It wasn't the customer service I'm used to, which is a huge bummer. I'll still recommend this place because of the fair prices and the service I've received in the past, but based on this last experience I am not ready to rave about Discount Tire anymore. read more
