The guys at Discount Tire really pulled my butt out of a sling. After a blowout on 290, the idiots at Wal-Mart had rounded off a lug nut smooth they couldn't get it off, then kicked me out of their store at 7 o'clock at night in a sketchy part of town. Had to leave my truck unprotected overnight because of their stupidity. Discount Tire not only got the rounded nut off, but they saved the bolt AND offered two tires for almost the same price as Wal-Mart wanted for one. Breaking News: Wal-Mart sucks. Made an appointment to get my tires rotated. They called a few minutes after dropping it off and said they couldn't rotate because the front tires were so worn. I ended up needing all new tires which I was expecting. They replaced them and my car was ready within an hour. I waited a few minutes to pick up the keys but overall they do a good job and try to get everyone in and out pretty quickly. read more

Folks, don't fall for the 5 star reviews given below, especially the ones with "quick flat tire repair" or "quick tire rotation" kind of reviews. When you try to buy tires here, you are ripped off. Read another person's review below when these folks took out tire happily but just denied to put it back for "safety reasons" and forcing to buy their overpriced tires! I mean come on, that's like kidnapping (probably called "tire-napping"?) your tire and asking for ransom...lol Do some homework before going there. If you are buying new tires and ask for "proration" i.e. credit for the existing tires leftover mileage warranty, these store folks will come up with all kind of strange and lame reasons to deny it saying "this is mechanical wear so not covered" and blah blah...! If you take it to any other store or any online cust care folks (including their own DiscountTire folks), all they ask is pics of worn tires and without giving any crazy reasons for denying warranty credit they give you that credit (as much as 50% of what you had paid) while buying new ones! Now, think about this, if you have EVER bought new tires from this store (Discount Tire at 17326 Spring Cypress Rd) and did NOT get any leftover miles warranty credit for the old tires then no matter what reason these guys have given you, YOU HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF, period ! Talk to their online cust care or any other online seller and all they ask is tires pics, previous purchase invoice and current odometer reading to see how much warranty is still left so they can credit you while buying the new one. If you buy new one also with warranty like 75K, then next time you again get the credit for the left over warranty ! You see what I am talking about? ;-) e.g. if the current tires have 75K miles warranty but died in 40K miles then we should get the credit for the remaining 35K miles warranty correct? So nearly half of what you paid for the current tires should be credited while buying new tires. With THIS store folks? FORGET IT ! Other locations? May be they are good, I have no idea. I have been visiting this store for last 7/8 years and not even once I ended up buying from them (every time they come up with lame reason to deny left over warranty credit) so you can imagine how much adamant these folks must be in ripping off! Now, with all those reviewers giving 4 and 5 stars, tell us honestly, have you EVER received any leftover warranty credit from these guys for the current tires? If yes, how many times? I admit that all I had done was a tire rotation, but nevertheless, I was in and out very quickly and the service rep and technician that handled my car were both kind and courteous. My first time to try the online appointment scheduler and it seems to work great! I will do it that way next time too! Tire rotation was free and they did ask if I wanted the lifetime spin balance. I've had so many problems at this location. I check-in late Tuesday because my tire is low, and they tell me the pressure is good all around after putting air. Of which I informed them I already did that morning and here it is afternoon and my notification still says low. Wake up on Wednesday same thing so I return. Check-in one guy says oh your back, tire still low. Uhhh yeah otherwise I wouldn't be here, so they determine the stem had a crack and Alex tells me they change it. After a long days work, I get in my car and again tire pressure reads 25 on this same tire, of which I purchased from here ack on February (thats a another storu2)because the previous one had a industrial sized staple in it. So while I wait o asked them to go ahead and order 3 tires so O can put has them when they arrive, the guys says no problem let's wait and see what happens with this one. I'm reiterated, I'd like to order there's because you just told me the other tires are at a 4th. He says yes ma'am we will get them ordered. So I leave, and 5 mins later I get a call saying hey we don't have the tire in stock, I told him well I know that we had this problem before in February and it took a month to get one tire as to why I asked you to contact your other locations, vendors or the dealer to order tire. He says well yes ma'am all I can do is order online and it won't allow me to order outside, it's gonna be pretty hard to get the tire, it'll be best if you order it yourself. WHAT COMPANY TELLS PEOPLE THIS?!?! Obviously them, and all the time..... I said, you are right because back in February instead of ordering the tire as I asked you never did and never followed up and 3wks later I had to call everyday and even offered to pick up tire myself until it finally came in. Absolutely will avoid the Cypress store located on Spring Cypress near Hwy 290, and instead will use the Barker Cypress location. Recently they failed to return the wheel lock lugnut adapter. When I realized this a few hours later, I went back to simply be told it had most likely been thrown away. I was also told it was handed back to me with the "old valve stems". I received neither, and now I know why. When I took a different vehicle in for tire replacements a few months ago, I recently noticed that my front left tire was going flat. Frustrated with this particular location on Spring Cypress, I decided to visit the location on Barker Cypress. The guy there said my 6 month old tire was good, but the problem was a corroded valve stem. He explained that the Spring Cypress Store simply didn't replace the valve stems as required. When asked why, he hesitated but did admit that some store's management will tell the service guys to take shortcuts when they are extremely busy and backed up with customers in order to not have customers walk. So that's 2 situations that required a return trip in order to deal with a "preventable issue" due to the negligence on part of the Spring Cypress Store. The Barker Cypress location is about half the size, but the attention to detail is 5 times better! 1 star for Spring Cypress 5 stars for Barker Cypress!!!!! read more

I've been going to this location for several years now, and have bought all my tires and rims for both my cars from this location. My last 2 visits were problematic- but both times (in less than one month for both issues) the manager corrected the problem without me having to beg for a solution. This most recent being that I bought 3 new tires, and when they replaced the tires they damaged 3 of my rims. I brought my car back the next day & they replaced ALL 4 of my rims with new ones so they would all match & look new. Great customer service. read more

Blue's Neglected Tires, Part I My truck, Blue, is one of my favorite, erm, people. Unfortunately for her, she often gets neglected due to budget constraints. I knew she needed a new tire, badly, but had been procrastinating as long as possible because truck tires can be expensive. Then last week, as I pulled out of my garage, I noticed that old familiar shake of the steering wheel that only happens when a tire is about to go. Resigned to my fate, we took Blue to the nearest Discount Tire. The news was not good: one tire, which came with Blue and therefore had 90,000 miles on it, was about to blow. Not surprisiing. But then we were told that the other front tire, bought a little over a year ago, was also about to go. What the hell? It should last longer than that. I bought it at another Discount Tire location-shouldn't there be a warranty or something? The gentleman who was "helping" us seemed about as interested in us as he might be if we showed up at his door trying to sell him magazines or change his religion. His solution was for us to buy 2 new tires, which was definitely not in our revised hubby-just-got-laid-off budget. Don't even come close to this place. They do. It follow instructions and do not compensate you when they do things wrong. I specifically asked them to keep my old tire because it was still quite new. I wanted to use it for a spare. They wrote the instruction on the paper. When I picked up my car, there was no tire. They said that it was recycled! I have used this Discount Tire location before without much problem...until today. II took Clifford (my big red Durango) to get 3 new tires. I replaced 1 a year ago after a blowout at this DT location. The night before, I went to their website, picked my tires, made sure they were in stock and made an appointment. Had never used the appt. service so I was interested to see how it would work. I showed up with 9 year old daughter in tow for Clifford's procedure. There was a small line (3 people), but they have a "Pickups and Appointments" line. They had a chart on the wall that showed all the appointments. I was the only one in the middle of the day. Anyway, I got in line behind a dude who was picking up his car. After taking care of him, the guy who helped him completely ignored me and took off. The other guys were servicing the people in the line. Finally one of the fine young men from DT, asked to help me. I must make a note at this point that I was serviced at the same point as if I had stood in line behind all the other people so I'm not sure what the point of an appt. is. Back to my story, I take him out to show him the 3 bad tires and also show him a nickle size chunk of rubber I noticed missing out of my year old tire. He proceeds to tell me that the chunk of rubber missing from the tire wasn't a "hazard". He also told me that the tire had only 25% of its tread left and I might want to consider just getting 4 tires. WTF? I've only had the tire a year and 13K miles!!! He tells me that he has had a lot of complaints about this particular tire not wearing well. I paid $150 for this tire and he says they can give me $35 as a trade in. Ok fine, I just go ahead and get the 3 tires I've planned for which rings ups to a nice whopping $521. Eff me! What kind of scam is it that they sell a tire that they admit is not up to par and then say it isn't hazardous when it has a chunk missing???? {inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale} My plan is to take Clifford to the Hwy 6 location that I adore and hopefully have a good experience like Angela S. Got four new tires yesterday. Had to go back yesterday after they installed the four new tires because they had all four of them at different amounts. Come to find out they were all over inflated. Today after i get out of my meeting i go to get into my truck and a nut is falling off the tire. I reach down and pull it off. I got a "im sorry". I would be very embarrassed if i owned a tire shop and after a customer buys 4 new tires they 1. Do not have the right pressure. 2. Bolt holding the tire falls off. I have my grand-babies with me alot. Instead of focussing so much on taking peoples money for tires and doing a half a$$ job you should be retraining your employees on how to do their job!!!! Just spoke w/Mark. He has been there two years and has never had this happen. Absolute worst customer service from Mark ever. I've had my car in multiple times. Every other location has been great. They screwed up some lug nuts with impact guns. Asked them to not use it. Other locations no problem. Here they tell me ok. Then I watch and they use the impact. Mark then begins to argue with me over it. If they were going to use the impact I would have gone to the other discount tire. What a joke. These people are the biggest bunch of disrespectful service advisors I have ever met. We all know how we can get flustered when we get a FLAT, whether by a accident (my situation) or other and I am grateful for all the Assistance & Help received today from - Customer Service Rep, George! He informed my Husband, that my Tires weren't available, but can be delivered TODAY and to contact him later - the very SAME day! Even though they were swamped / packed to the max with work - George still made sure my WHEELS were ready before the end of the WORK DAY!! He should have immediately stopped and said hey this tire is brand new let's call the customer. Absolutely the best experience ever at discount tire or any other tire dealership. I have been wanting to get new tires for my Nissan titan for quite some time. Got online last night to search for tire deals. I found that discount tire had the tire in stock that I was looking for and had an appointment for 830 this morning. I Purchased a tires online and was instructed to show up 15 minutes early which I did. When I pulled into discount tire and parked my truck, Before I could get out of my truck I was approached and asked to wait one minute. Before that one minute was up the gentleman return and asked for my name and my mileage. I was quite surprised that he already knew my appointment was at 8:30. He asked me if you more questions and then we proceeded inSide to finish the purchase. He said that it would be approximately 30 minutes for them to complete the installation of my tires. I was skeptical at best I was thinking an hour to two hours. I asked if I could wait in my truck and he said yes. At 8:35 I was approached by another gentleman and was asked to pull my vehicle into an open bay. And exactly 22 minutes I was reversing my truck out with brand new tires. Best experience ever! I was thoroughly impressed watching the crew inside of the bays working on all the other vehicles as well. They all communicated with each other and seem to have fun doing it. Great customer service! Great prices! Great employees! I've used this location for tires on all our vehicles. Always a great experience. Never had a long wait time, they're quick yet thorough. No problems with warranties. I went in with my daughter today, we were made aware today that another Discount Tire store location put 3 incorrect sized tires on her car a couple of months ago. We went to this location (my local go to store) told them about the error, they immediately offered a solution that included 4 new tires (better brand and tire than our original ones) and put them on right away even though it was almost closing time. I never expected to write this review, but these guys have officially impressed me. At 37 years old, I have had to get tires on vehicles dozens of times, and every single time it has been a nightmare! So when my car didn't pass inspection because of the tire tread, I was dreading going through the hassle. I called Discount and set up an appointment for the following day at 1230. He took my information and I though to myself that he was full of crap and wasn't actually setting up an appointment. About three hours before the appoint I called to reschedule it to 130, and they pulled my information right up and got it moved. I was pleased, but still a little skeptical. I arrived at 115 today and the guy walked out to meet me at the car. They were slammed busy, but actually had enough people working there to handle it. Now that was a shocker! He took my license plate info and mileage and we walked inside. Within two minutes he had everything pulled up and I was paying. I asked how long it would take and he said 30 minutes. I was still doubting this place, so I handed him my keys and I walked 10 minutes over to a wing place to get a drink and do some work. I sat there for less than ten minutes when I got a text message that my car was ready to go. He was not kidding! Less than thirty minutes and I had new tires. This was the most smooth experience I have ever had putting tires on a vehicle and this crew has just won me over. read more

Yesterday I took my bent wheel to this Discount Tire location and spoke to Sergio Villegas and i showed him my wheel and tire and he immediately told me my wheel was too bend and there was nothing he could do to fix it, and he told me my options were going to be to go to the dealership and get a $700 or more wheel or he could order me a new one that would cost about $300. I told him I found one online for $130 and I even pulled up the website and he told no thats not possible. The kicker is my father took my wheel to a different discount tire location and they we able to fix it no questions asked. Names involved: Tommy and Cody. I came in to get my flat tire issue resolved. My service tech was Tommy and he kept trying to find issues about my car. The attempt to get more money is crazyyyy. His first attempt was fixated on some part of my car I did not come in for. Then another. And another. And another. And another. And finally, we're back to talking about my flat tire. And I ain't gone lie y'all he got some of the money. Invoice went from around $100 to $400. Then he After he got the money he begged for, the service was terrible. I asked him to update me on when my tire will get fixed/ replaced and he was like "oh yeah for sure I got you, come back around this time :)". I come by and he said he don't got it. Come by another day, he don't got it. At least live up to your words and please update me. Outcome of this visit: flat tire absolutely did not get fixed. Came here for a tire fix because I had a nail in my tire (center of tire). They said they could fix it easy and then came back 10 minutes later and said they couldn't put the tire back on and I needed to buy a new one. The guy was nice and tried to be quick, and it was 5 pm. But it annoyed me that he kept pushing me into buying a $200 tire when I said I wanted a cheap one. I'm giving 3 stars because I ended up getting a Pirelli and i wasn't shown cheap options and also because they spilled crap on my trunk and gave my car back to me dirty like that. read more

Horrible horrible service I came in to Discount only because one of my brand new tires I had just bought caught flat when arriving I gave them the tire for them to inspect only 15 minutes to find out nothing was wrong with the tire or anything that "they had done " no nails no holes and claimed the Texas heat basically melted my tire I was charged $18.00 to replace the tire and they sent me about my way Fast forward 24 Hours later "Ding Ding" Tire light back on ! I brought my truck because it was time for it's rotation and balance. I was greeted with a hand shake, taken out to my truck for a walk around and made aware of my tire condition. I explained to my sales person that I knew I needed tires but needed them to last a couple of more months. My sales person didn't try to sell me anything, he just showed me my options and made me aware of all the rebates that were available to me. He even offered instant credit, which I already have. I will return within the next 2 months and purchase my new tires. I am retired, but worked in the retail tire industry for over 40 years. We never could compete with Discount Tire and I hope you never change the way you run your business.
