Ordered new set of tires for my truck online. They had them in stock and scheduled an appointment for the next day, Monday. They were packed when I got there. Small wait to check in. Representative was courteous and said they would have them on soon. It took an hour but I was satisfied as the tires were perfectly balanced and off I went. I thought I would need (4) tires, and was prepared to buy them, but Phillip was honest and advised me that only my front tires were bad. I had a low tire and thought that I just needed air. I stopped by there and asked for air. The staff there checked all my tires found a long screw in the tire that had low air. They fixed it for free even tho I told them I didn't buy the tires there. They also did a complete inspection on all my tires, kept me posted and made sure I was doing fine while I was waiting. I have been a loyal customer of Discount Tire for over 20 years. I had been thinking about replacing the wheels on my car as whenever we have a 20 degree drop in temperature, I lose tire pressure. That and my old rims were pretty beat up. A week ago I stopped by to have them add air to my tires. Staff members there, descended upon my car like a Nascar pit crew. I had 1 guy checking the tread deptth and two more filling my tires. When I asked what I could do to stop the leaking when the temp drops, the senior staff member told me my options. The best would be to replace the wheels. He just gave me enough ammo to help me convince my wife to agree with the investment. I jumped on their website and a few other competitors and found the wheels I liked best. It just so happened that Discount Tire had the best selection and the best prices, hands down. I bought the set of wheels and made my appointment online. Two days later I got a call from Discount Tires telling me that the wheels came in and confirmed my appointment for today. In less than an hour, I had my new wheels on my car. The staff there is extremely friendly and professional. It was a busy day with lots of customers and they handled all of us with effectiveness, efficiency and class. I can't recommend them enough. read more

Purchased a tire that was never installed on my car, tried to receive refund, waited 45 minutes and employee DANIEL REFUSED TO GIVE REFUND!!! WAS ALSO CALLED SUSPICIOUS (corporate will hear about this) Even with valid receipt present and invoice matching their own declaring that tire was never installed. i'm sorry I bought my tires there a couple years ago. They keep trying to sell me stuff when I go in for tire rotation. Today I stopped there because my light came on telling me my rear tire needed air. The guy tried to sell me wiper blades, sensor chips. I'm sorry I even wasted my time stopping there today they told me it would be over 2 1/2 hours to get taken care of and that was after I called this morning and they said I probably would not have a long wait. We have been to this location several times and have never left unsatisfied! We have purchased tires here for a reasonable price. We have had those same tires patched (nails both times) for zero charge. It's nice to purchase a product, nowadays, and have it truly be worry free. Had a rocky start when I arrived. I was a bit shaken - had just changed a tire and arrived about 20mins before their close time. I walked in to one person behind the counter who was on the phone and did not acknowledge me at all. Another employee walked in (Jackson) took a call, acknowledged my presence as he walked back into the shop. Continued to wait another few moments while the other employee got off the phone, when he did he just walked to the garage & mumbled that someone would be out to help - very minimal acknowledgment. I pulled out my phone to see who else was open, as I was about to walk out, Jackson came back and asked if I was being helped. Admittedly I was annoyed & frustrated, I snapped at him a bit - he was kind and gracious. Explained there had been an emergency in the shop earlier in the day and apologized for the experience when I first arrived. He proceeded to assist me, looked into the best options available and was able to get my concerns addressed- quickly, effectively and with a great attitude. He completely turned my bad day around and am sincerely grateful for his kindness and assistance. read more

I was nervous about taking my new Audi to in any other place than Audi but didn't have a choice given the circumstances. The experience I had at Discount Tires in Elgin, was hands down one of the best experiences and almost like a throwback from the late 80s/ 90's when there was self serve at gas station. They take care of you from soup to nuts, and I can't say how much I enjoyed the experience. I was at the 875 s Randall rd elgin 60124 store. I was working with Drew Edwards. I'm very skeptical of automotive shops and getting taken advantage of. I called to price my new tire purchase with local shops in the area. Drew was accommodating in meeting their other competitors prices. I was shocked but still skeptical. He seemed honest so I decided to buy my tires with him. I thought I needed 3 new tires and was ready to pay the price when Drew called me over to show me my tires. He pointed out that I only needed 2 tires not 3. This really took me by surprise because I was sure I would eventually get ripped off. He explained he doesn't make commission and he's only interested in my safty by selling me a safe set of tires. He proved this to be true and I believe this now. Other than the 3 hour wait after I came back so I did not have to wait, was happy with their prices and installation. They have a lifetime balance and rotation policy that we will take advantage of and there is plenty within walking distance to do while you wait. I don't often review chains, but I need to write a review for this location. My husband and I have purchased tires here on multiple occasions (at one point we were a 3 car family) for both cars and trucks. I find the price of the tires to be comparable to other locations, but they also can fully guarantee theirs which is nice. You should absolutely buy the warranty they offer- they honor it perfectly (we have had to use it 2x). This location is always busy, but I have found them to be incredibly accurate with how long things will take which is very helpful. You can call and make an appointment in advance, or they will let you know how busy it is. I would avoid times immediately following heavy rain or snow if you are able! I have enjoyed working with every single employee that is here, and they are all educated and able to offer clear advice on what you are looking for. I appreciate that they ask about what kind of driving you do (my husbands exclusively highway versus my mini commute), and factor in the life of the car, reviews of the tires, etc. I will absolutely continue to come back to this location- great people, great service, great product! read more

For reviews of places like this that are not by where I live, I ask myself what I would want to know if I was in this town and had some sort of tire emergency. That said, I rolled in, they checked the damaged tire and confirmed that it needed to go, they got one of the same make as I already had and did not try to oversell me a pair. I read their magazines, got on the road 90 minutes later, and paid the right price for the tire I bought. I am not trying to make buying an emergency tire seem like an exciting transcendent experience, but it was a fair and satisfying given that this was not a planned purchase. read more
