I just recently bought a new set of tires but I soon discovered that I had a significant vibration on the steering wheel at a specific speed (42-45 mph). If I was accelerating and was not at that specific speed, the vibration was very momentary. But if traffic was moving at that speed, it would vibrate the whole time I was at that speed. I took it back for a re-balance, with the same results. Christopher concluded that it may need a swap of tires, which included a better grade for smoothness. I've been a customer since the early 90. I used to go to Orange Park and now Fleming island since 2009. Quality of work is okay but the small details kinda starts to get on me, specially when it keeps on happening. I replaced the OEM valve caps with a Harley valve caps and have those for about 10 years now (I bought it before for my other explorer and put it on to my current one. I always inspect my vehicles now before leaving any shop if it get worked on, to which I did when I got my explorer and lo and behold the valve caps was replaced again by a cheap plastic capsI. I brought the attention to the manager and went back to the guys that changed my tires and got my valve caps back... I told him it happened before, he gave me a bunch of reason why it happened , and at the end he said it's hard to hire quality works nowadays. Told him that is sad, specially when you have a returning customer and that it always happens to me....i had a center caps missing before and the store cannot find it after replacing my tires.... I'm writing this review just to warn everyone to always inspect the job. Don't be on a rush to leave. My daughter was in a tight spot and drove to discount tire and was told she would have to wait 2 hours to get a plug put in her tire. This is a process that would take 20 minutes tops to do. They only had 3 cars in their bays. I don't understand where customer service has gone these days. I started buying tires at this location since they opened up. Over the years they have gone downhill. To top it off they attempted to talk my daughter into buying new tires. I've been in the car business for 30 years and I always inspect my daughter's tires. Stopped into Discount Tire in Fleming Island at 1:00 to get 5 new trailer tires. The attendant said they could get me in @ 2:00. I bought the tires and the he checked me into their system. They didn't even put a jack under it until 3:00. Sat in the waiting room watching customers come and go long after I had gotten there, while my trailer sat there neglected. Politely inquired about it ~ every 20 minutes. They finally got my tires on about 4:30, but were unsuccessful programing the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). Used to be my go to place and have purchased all my tires (3 sets) there in the past, but wasn't very impressed with yesterdays service. The reason one star. I purchased new tires on 09/07/2018. Yesterday I went in for rotation and balance. I was told that tires are almost 6 years old and that I should consider replacing them. I have 70% tread left on tires! He said you must not drive much. You do the math, I was sold 2 year old tires!! When I questioned them the danced all around the issue. I'm still ticked off about it. I will have to buy tires 2 years before I need to. I would like to hear from corporate office, but I doubt that will happen. Buyer beware!! Had a couple tires put on truck. Great price and service was even better. In and out in no time. Very attentive.

We took my husbands truck to find out if they could fix the power steering fluid leak. The service writer had a mechanic take a look. They advised us they could fix the problem, so later that same day we came back for our truck and paid for the service. The next day my husband and son left in that truck we thought was fixed, they drove 650 miles to their destination. Their destination has no phone signal, so I did not find out until today that they have been filling the power steering fluid in it like it was gas, the leaking is so bad. I called the business today and the manager said he would have to assess the truck. I said did you not hear me, my husband is 650 miles away working. Bringing the truck in is not an option. Then he said they have facilities all over the United States to look on google for one close to my husband and take it there or bring it back here to middleburg Florida to be assessed. I said you expect them to unsafely drive back to Glorida, is that what you would do, he said yes. I could name all the names I dealt with but This is my first review and I am not sure of the rules. I wouldn't recommend any other place for tires. The employees are honest and efficient. I bought all new tires, and within a week had a flat due to a nail. Many homes in our neighborhood were having roofs redone so that was probably the culprit. I called Discount Tire and of course, it was in a non-patchable spot. Unfortunately I have to give corporate a thumbs down for today. Usually Discount Tires is spot on with time frames and appointments. They used to be great at getting you in at your time and out within the time frame provided at check-in. I set up an appointment online for 0800. My gps failed and took me to the wrong location. When I knew I was going to be late I called to inform them, they replied "No worries, come in and we'll get you set up." I showed up, 16 minutes past 8, and I had to wait in a drive-up line until other customers were checked in (took 10 min). When I got inside they told me that they had to bump my previous appointment of 0800 to 0930. I was checked in at 0838. Here it is, 1030 and I'm STILL here waiting for my car. A gentleman came in at 0900 for his 0915 appointment and barely left at 1020. Corporate. I'd advise that you put into effect "Until covid restrictions are lifted, our services will be first come first served." Because honestly, WHAT IS THE POINT OF AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU DO NOT KEEP TO THEM??? Why cause your amazing staff the stress and struggle of trying to "maintain" a schedule when they CANNOT do so because of the limitations that social distancing causes??
